Their first shot across the bow is to take one of E. W. Jackson’s most powerful assaults on the culture of death that the Democratic Party embraces and instead of responding to it in any substantial way, they simply try to mock it. That strategy might not work out quite as well as the liberals hope.

To make matters even more complicated, a lot of folks are going to see their preferred candidates get knocked out during the process so it’s not just a matter of settling on one candidate and figuring the exercise is over. It’s quite likely that as the process evolves a lot of people are going to be scrambling to figure out how best to vote among candidates they might not know very well at all.

With hopes this will help some of you, here’s my take on the candidates and who I’m going to be supporting. (more…)

At the same time our county high schools schools are being badly ranked, our class sizes have grown to be the largest in the area, and academic performance isn’t at all where it should be bureaucrats and the county’s leadership want to blow money on building pools in all the new schools.

Will Corey Stewart side with the people who are skeptical of the supposed “benefits” of this road project for developers and don’t want their interests harmed? Or will Corey side with developers who stand to make a fortune and care nothing about the traffic nightmare this will cause?

Just ask Jeremy McPike. You can do that from any position in government.

Jeremy McPike works for the City of Alexandria and is the Democrat running for the 31st House District, which is currently represented by Delegate Scott Lingamfelter. Either he’s getting a lot of time off lately, or the City of Alexandria is (perhaps unknowingly) making a campaign contribution for McPike’s campaign, since it seems a whole lot of folks are getting fundraising calls during the day from McPike when he’s supposed to be acting as the Director of General Services for the city.

If you want a delegate who can’t seem to figure out what ethics are all about, and doesn’t mind abusing public office for personal gain, Jeremy McPike is definitely your guy.

Perhaps some of our local elected officials, particularly those seeking higher office, listen after all.

Prince William County Chairman Corey Stewart will introduce a resolution this evening threatening to withhold county contributions to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) unless the organization reverses resolution R3-2013, which advocates restricting Second Amendment Rights of Prince William County and Virginia residents.

I’ll be a lot more pleased once local governments realize what a huge misuse and waste of taxpayer dollars membership in these kinds of organizations really is even without the ridiculous forays into “gun control”, and instead of threatening to withhold dues, just pull out of MWCOG, VACOG and the like altogether. We’re spending $400,00 a year from the MWCOG alone, but what are we getting for it?
