For the April 2013 (9.4.2) release of Blackbaud Sphere, we not only created a new webpage resource for new features, be we also have several other updates.

Updated the Sphere Thon Guide and the Sphere and The Raiser’s Edge Connector Guide
Updated the Sphere administrator help file
Updated the Friends Asking Friends participant help file

Blackbaud Sphere April 2013 – Introducing The User Education How-to Documentation Webpage for New Features!

We know it can be difficult to keep track of new features from release to release. Recently, we decided to see if we could address this issue with a new how-to documentation webpage resource. We started with a few of Blackbaud’s other products, and now for Blackbaud Sphere April 2013 (9.4.2), we created a webpage that consolidates new feature information and all of the available resources to one central location.

Use the buttons at the top to learn details for the priority new features and access links such as:

Updated How-to Documentation Notifications

We apologize for the email/feed update with the entire list of all Blackbaud How-to Documentations notices to date. However, the reason for the entire update was because we switched our RSS feed from a self-hosted XML file to Tumblr!

We wanted to expand how we publish updates and also make it easier to upload quick notes, pictures, videos, and more of all the additions and improvements to our Blackbaud documentation.

This doesn’t change anything for those who subscribe to our feed or receive email updates. You will still receive updates as normal.

However, if you do enjoy Tumblr, you can now follow us on Tumblr as well. Our Blackbaud How-to Documentations updates can now be found at:

We updated all of the user guides on the Altru How-to Documentation webpage.
And, we added 4 new videos to the Altru Training Videos page, which explain the new features in the release.

How-to Documentation for The Financial Edge 7.84

The latest version of The Financial Edge has been released and it includes several features you’ve been waiting for.

Please take time to review our new features walkthrough. Walkthroughs highlight our new features and provide a new way for us to share information and improve the learning experience. As you navigate the walkthroughs, you learn what’s new through informative text, screenshots, and helpful links to other documentation options. We hope you find them a useful too!

Another new, helpful resource is the New Features Video. The video discusses and shows you the new features and enhancements.

And finally, on our Financial Edge How-to Documentation webpage, we updated the Accounts Payable Configuration Guide, Accounts Payable Reports Guide, Accounts Payable Records Guide, Cash Receipts Reports Guide, Accounts Receivable Reports Guide, and The Financial Edge Update Guide.

In recent months, we completely updated the ResearchPoint How-to Documentation website page. For example, from the How-to page, we made it easy for you to access:

A link to the visual walkthrough of the latest new features and enhancements with the What’s New? box.

Categorized section for your user guides. You can review documentation for System and New Features, Prospecting and Record Management, and Previous New Features.

Blackbaud CRM and Internet Solutions 2.94 release documentation is out! CRM includes exciting features such as improved credit card rejection handling, import enhancements, and better constituent data hygiene. New features for BBIS include the new Advanced Donation Form and Personal Notes parts, an updated HTML editor ribbon toolbar, enhancements to the Directory part, and a new password reset process.

Blackbaud Sphere How To Page and Resource Center Has Launched

Have you noticed that Blackbaud.com has changed in 2012 and now offers more robust content and easier navigation? As a part of that change, we have added a resource for Blackbaud Sphere users! This page isn’t completed yet, but we didn’t want to you miss out on what it currently has to offer.

What is the Sphere How To page?

The How To page is a centralized resource intended to assist Blackbaud Sphere users with progressive FAF functionality through videos, blogs, documentation, and release information. We want to create a page that is beneficial for Blackbaud Sphere admins because the content helps make event management easier and as a result, you happier! At this time, the resources will be focused on thon events and maximizing Blackbaud Sphere to promote and improve events.

How can I access the page?

Just visit our website! You can bookmark the page and reference it as needed. The page is not password protected, for easier use.

What plans do you have for the page?

We will be adding thon related videos throughout the year, especially after our feature release in the fall- see What is a Blackbaud Sphere maintenance release or feature release? for more info.
