• Select Manage Internet Email

• Type in the new password

Follow these steps to delete and undelete Desktop [SYNC] service book.

1. Goto Options (wrench icon).
2. Select Advanced Options.
3. Select Service Book.
4. Locate Desktop [SYNC] display the menu and select Delete
5. Confirm the delete before exiting Service book option
6. Go back to the Service Book option and display the menu and select Undelete.

Receiving Duplicate emails on Blackberry

If you were a Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) subscriber and moved to Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) and now receiving duplicate emails in your messages. Follow these steps to check

1. Make sure there is no forwarding setup under your BIS to your company email account. Login into your carrier blackberry website to check.

2. If there is a BIS email account setup for your company email then simply delete it.
a. You can also go under Setup
b. Personal Email setup
c. Select the email account and delete it.

3. Delete the service books - follow steps below
a. Options
b. Advance Options
c. Service books
d. Look for abc.def@xyz.com (CICAL) and abc.def@xyz.com (CMIME) service books
e. Select one of them and check UID# - it should start with BISExxxxxx. This will confirm that your company email is setup via BIS and not BES.
f. Press Esc key and go back to where all the service books are.
g. Delete both CICAL and CMIME service books associated with your company email account.
h. Escape out of the options menu
i. Send test emails to make sure that you are not receiving duplicate emails

Note: On some blackberry units you may not be able to delete personal email account. Please contact your carrier tech support to get this accomplished.

Steps for Blackberry Enterprise Activation

You need to have couple things set with your carrier before doing BES activation.
1. Make sure you have an enterprise data plan (unlimited ) and not a Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) plan
2. Secondly your device will most likely will get an IT policy that will require you to set a device password.

Note: These steps works for most Blackberry models except the Torch.

Follow these steps

1. Go to Option (wrench icon)

2. Select Advance options

3. Select Enterprise activation

4. Enter your email address ( ex:John.baker@xyz.com)

5. Password (passcode) = xxxx (Blackberry Admin/IT dept will provide you this password)

6. Press track pad /track ball

7. Select activate

I recently encounter this new phenomenon in Blackberry. I never thought this would exist in blackberry world. But here it is. I actually took pictures of it.

Steps you can take if you encounter WSOD

- Do soft reboot. Alt + Shift+del
- Do device software upgrade to latest version. Goto you wireless provider website and get the latest download from there.
- If the above two do not work and you continue to have issues then call your service provider and get a warranty exchange if one is available.

Blackberry Bold 9700 * * * *

Blackberry 9700 is much nicer looking than its predecessor Blackberry 9000. It is quite slick looking and not as bulky at the Bold 9000. It feels solid in the hand and features nice leather backing as it previous model. Its smaller size with chrome edges and lines between the keyboard row makes it much more attractive. The screen is a bit smaller but it 480X360-pixel resolution makes the screen sharp and clear.

Bold 9700 35-key full QWERTY keyboard is bit smaller than its predecessor but comfortable enough to do short text messages and emails.

Features:

Blackberry Bold 9700 carries the OS 5.0 operating system. This allows some new cool features. For example, the calendar has an easier to use system for creating new appointments with drop-down list. Users can also customize the home screen main menu with different themes. This blackberry carries the same BlackBerry Curve 8520 optical track pad feature. The move from trackball to track pad is not a huge change very well adaptable to users.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 works well on UMTS/HSDPA,900/1700/2100 and 3G networks. This unit also comes with WIFI capable and offers a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also includes GPS navigation and video capture. Faster processor makes browser experience and other features stand out in a positive way.
