Whitney Houston dies at 48 (02/11/2012)

Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music\'s queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, has died. She was 48. Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album \"Whitney\" was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 albums world wide. Houston holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Grambling State University in Louisiana. Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007. May her soul rest in peace Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unclear. At her peak in the 1980s and `90s, Houston the golden girl of the music industry and one of the world\'s best-selling artists. Among her hits were How Will I Know, Saving All My Love for You and I Will Always Love You. She won multiple Grammys including album and record of the year. Her success carried her beyond music to movies like The Bodyguard. But by the end of her career, drug use took its toll as her record sales plummeted and her voice became raspy and hoarse.

"Willie D. Davis (born July 24, 1934, in Lisbon, Louisiana) is a former American football defensive end for the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. Davis grew up in rural Louisiana and graduated from Grambling State University. The Cleveland Browns drafted Davis in the 15th round in the 1958 NFL Draft as an offensive tackle. Davis did not play up to standard at offensive tackle, but, in 1959, Green Bay Packers GM/Head Coach Vince Lombardi noted Davis's speed and agility and tried him at defensive lineman. Thus began one of the greatest careers ever at that position. Davis wore number 87 during his career with the Packers. For 10 seasons, Davis anchored the Packers' defensive line, playing 138 consecutive regular-season games, part of 162 consecutive regular-season games for his NFL career. Davis was member to all 5 of Lombardi's NFL title-winning teams and played in Super Bowls I and II. Davis played in an era when neither tackles nor sacks were official statistics. However, John Turney, a member of the Professional Football Researchers Association, and a painstaking, highly respected researcher/statistician, reports that his extensive research indicates Davis had in excess of 100 sacks during his 10-year Green Bay career (1960--69), "possibly more than 120," including a minimum of 40 over the 1963-65 seasons alone.[1] Davis himself is quoted as saying, "I would think I would have to be the team's all-time leader in sacks. Hail & Thunder also incorporated its own cadences which were previously never heard before, and some that are a representative of the legacy of great marching bands that Brooklyn has always had.

Ronald Dean Coleman (couramment appelé Ronnie Coleman) est un célèbre bodybuilder américain né le 13 mai 1964 à Monroe en Louisiane aux États-Unis. Il fait ses études à la Grambling State University où il a obtenu une maîtrise de comptabilité. Il a exercé la profession de policier réserviste. Il est culturiste (aussi appelé bodybuilder). À la fin des années 90 et début des années 2000, il était considéré comme le meilleur dans ce sport (ayant atteint la première place à toutes les compétitions de Mr. Olympia entre 1998 et 2005). De plus, il détient le record du nombre de victoires de l'IFBB Professional League (25 victoires). Il a réalisé différentes vidéos d'entraînement: The Unbelieveable, The Cost of Redemption, On the road et Relentless. Sa philosophie consiste essentiellement à soulever des poids et à faire un peu de powerlifting, mais il n'utilise que très peu les machines d'entraînement. Il domina la compétition la plus importante du bodybuilding (Mr. Olympia) de 1998 à 2005 en écrasant tous ses principaux rivaux (Jay Cutler, Flex Wheeler, Kevin Levrone et Chris Cormier). En 2006 il échoue dans sa tentative de record de 9 titres Olympia et terminera deuxième derrière son rival no 1 Jay Cutler qui remporte Mr. Olympia. En 2007 il se présente de nouveau à Mr. Olympia mais celle-ci sera sa dernière participation à une compétition. Ronnie se retire définitivement du bodybuilding professionnel à l'âge de 43 ans, même si on annonce souvent son retour.
