Having just the previous evening damaged a good spoon in my disposal, my meeting  with THE GENIE was more than pure chance.  After reading the sign, I bought one and took it right to its new home in my kitchen sink.

I had the idea to use an unconventional “tablecloth” so  I set out to find an inexpensive roll of paper.

I looked in a few party stores, but what I needed was right here before my eyes at Blackhawk Hardware ~ Contractor’s brown paper!  It comes by the roll, is 36” wide and a gargantuan length of 144”.

It’s a lot of paper for the price!

To set up, we put the pads on the table, and then proceeded to wrap the dining room table in 2 long sheets of the paper.  We used painter’s tape to secure it under the table.  The table prepped, we were ready for the fun of bringing out the glasses, plates, fruits, cheeses and wines.  My daughter used a Sharpie and her lovely scroll-y handwriting to write on the brown paper.  We used the kitchen table for dessert offerings, and wrapped it in brown paper as well.

We were heartily complimented on the “presentation”.  A really good time was had by all, and our family member felt adequately welcomed.  The party over, clean up ensued.  Cleaning up the tablecloth was a breeze!

 We set up “groupings” of wine glasses with the various wines. White wines were set in a large bowl of ice.

 The pennant centerpiece was secured into two used wine bottles filled with water for weight, with paper clips and twine
