The Woodlawn Arts Academy offers a wide variety of quality arts programming including visual arts, music, literary arts, performing arts and yoga. The converted elementery school was completely renovated and opened in 2006. Designed to be friendly to both it's students and the environment, the facility includes a geothermal heating and cooling system that is flexible and energy efficient along with lighting systems and low maintenance wall and floor finishes that give the feeling of an art gallery or studio environment.

The 150-seat J. Mark Beaty Performance Center is a exceptional venue for plays, dinner theatre, art exhibits, banquets and conferences.

Next door sits a newly restored victorian era house that is used for art retreat housing and resident artists.

Ruby Nash Home/Ogle County Historical Museum

The Ogle Co. Historical Museum (also known as the Ruby Nash Museum) opened in 1962. It was the home of the Chester Nash family and was built in 1878 of Midwestern prairie-type architecture. Chester Nash invented the cultivator and was a contemporary of John Deere. His daughter, Miss Ruby Nash, taught school for 50 years from 1891 to 1941. Nash School, now Nash Recreation Center, was named after her. Come, step back in time and see the way people lived in the late 1800's. The house is furnished in the style of the 1880's and is also a showcase of antiques and artifacts from all over Ogle County. We feature memorabilia from Lorado Taft’s Eagles Nest. Our "Patriotic" room depicts Ogle County’s military history. Open Thursdays year round from 9a - noon and May through September on Sundays, from 1-4 pm or by appointment. Donations accepted.

Byron Museum of History & Lucius Read House

Featuring local history and the Lucius Read house (circa 1843), the museum's exhibits include "Into the Outhouse", "Byron in the Railroad Era, "Clamming on the Rock", information about local professional baseball player A.G. Spalding, the Underground Railroad, and more. The Byron Museum is located at 110 N Union Street. Museum hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is always free.Closed on Mondays. Call for group tours and event schedules.
