New River Model Railroad Museum

Diesel & steam locomotives run on a double main line through the elaborate & highly detailed model railroad landscape which includes mountains, tunnels, villages & industrial areas replicating the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad in West Virginia in the 1950's. The layout is over 36'x30' and is in H.O. scale. We have 50 engines and over 500 cars, 2 large turntables to turn our steam engines around in our staging yards. Open to the public: Saturday & Sunday from 1-6 pm. June - July - August thru Labor Day. A portion of the admission will be donated to FEED THE CHILDREN. Bus tours, group or private tours are welcome by appoinment. Bring the family, load up the camera and enjoy trains of the past.

The Rochelle Railroad Park is a "must see" for railroading fans young and old. With over 80 trains per day, its an ideal spot for train watching. Raised platform allows viewers to experience and photograph two Class One rail lines crossing at the "diamond". Tune your radio to 106.9 FM to listen to radio transmissions from dispatchers to locomotive engineers. The gift shop sells merchandise from Railroad Relics which includes items such as railroad timetables, dining car china, engineer data books, logoed items, books, commemorative spikes, railroad employee clothing, model train items, and many more railroad related items. Also available for sale are “Atlas” O; N & HO gauge trains. They also have an active ATCS display which shows locations of trains in the area so you can be ready for their arrival. Snacks, drinks and souvenirs are also available along with plenty of train displays and memorabilia. Open year round 10am - 5pm everyday except Tuesday. Get it fresh this summer on the lawn of the Nash Recreation Center located at 304 S. 5^th St. in Oregon. Buy fresh veggies, baked goods, plants and more on Saturday mornings from June-September. The Market is also held Tuesday evenings at Park West during the Concerts in the Park. Enjoy the opportunity to buy high quality, fresh, nutritious, affordable farm products directly from our local farmers. You might also find fresh baked goods, dried fruits and nuts or there could be artists with “natural art” such as dried flowers and homemade papers, etc. The possibilities are endless and as the market grows, who knows what kind of wonderful and delicious items you might find.
