Renagade Bikes

We were invited down to Supernova Barber Shop to cover the Renagade Bike Calendar Girls 1930's Gangster's Photo Shoot. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday. We drove down to Tacoma...and after getting totally lost..( Tim )..we found the place and met up with Beverly Nelson, the event coordinator. Tim Lewis, Blackhole's video guy...shot all of our stuff. Once his hands stopped trembling from being around the ridiculously hot Renagade Girl models...we actually got a lot of good pictures and video. Beverly and her people made us feel totally welcome, there was live music from Big Wheel Stunt Show, vintage cars and bikes, and lots of thigh high stockings and heels..what else ya need..right? NW MUSIC MAGAZINE

Things are rollin now. The official Blackhole Nw Music Magazine website is under construction. It should be finished sometime in March. We have mapped out the functionality of the site, and now are working on the look, artwork, ect. We are going to be covering all types of music, our foundation is definitely punk and metal, but irregardless of the label....if it's good..it's good, and were gonna bring it to you. Blackhole will be published monthly, with a featured band, not just video of a show, but some behind the scenes type stuff, maybe you all don't normally get access to. Were also gonna feature tattoo artists, and hotrods...just because, that's what were about. In the next week or two, we will have a link up on this blog, where you can send music, video, pictures..ect, to. If your in a band looking to get some exposure...send it..and we'll check it out. We are also going to be doing reviews...so keep an eye out for the link, and send it in.

7 Year Bitch was formed in 1990 by vocalist Selene Vigil, guitarist Stefanie Sargent, bassist Elizabeth Davis, and drummer Valerie Agnew. At their first concert, the band opened for the Seattle band, The Gits, who proved to have a significant influence on their music. Their first album, "Sick Em", was released in 1992, but was overshadowed by Sargent's death on July 27th of that year. After a prolonged period of uncertainty, the band decided to continue, recruiting guitarist Roisin Dunne as Sargents replacement later that year. In 1995 the band signed with Atlantic Records, and in 1996 released their third album "Gato Negro". In 1997 the band began recording material for their fourth album. The band moved from Seattle with some of the members moving to San Fransico, and others, L.A. The distance between band members played a role in 7 Year Bitch's career coming to a close after a final tour with San Fransico band Lost Goal.

Zeke is a hardcore punk band from Seattle and Tacoma, the band formed in 1993. Zeke mixes punk with strong influences from hard rock and occasionally blues rock, and have been compared to Motorhead. Zeke has released six full length studio albums. Their first single.." West Seattle Acid Party ", came out in 1993. After several album releases on the indie label, Scooch Pooch Records, they signed with Epitah in 1998. Currently Zeke is on, Relapse Records. The Duff McKagan Factor

So..the first edition of the magazine, we want to be big...and interesting, basically f**king killer. We have someone in mind that we want to feature. Somebody I've know now..for at least the last eight years. Eight , sounds like a long time..but trust me..it's been a pretty casual acquaintance..and at times..I swear he doesn't even remember my name. It's gonna be a real long shot..to get em to do this...but..what's the worst he can say?.."no". I work for a landscaping company...and..we have been working for Duff at his Seattle house for many years now. I usually handle that account..and have gotten to Duff and his wife..i guess, well enough. We have done some larger projects there..where Duff has tried to help out with whatever we were doing..and we have talked about everything from GnR..to tattooing..to just everyday type shit. He's a pretty cool dude..no rock star ego at all..just one of the guys. When we were coming up with ideas for the first edition of the website...we thought..f**k it...lets just ask Duff!! We have an idea of what we would like to do with him for his feature. It took a lot of phone calls, emails..and my Beverly connection to set it all up. Bev..knows a lot of people in the local music and tattooing community, so without her help, not sure if any of this would be possible. I have everything set in place, soon its gonna be time to bring it to Duff, and see what happens. I had his and his brothers cell numbers on my phone..key word..HAD. The phone stopped working,,and lost all my numbers. So...our only option now..is either wait till, I'm at his house for work again..or just drive over and ring his door bell. The latter..I really dread..cause I remember him telling me about fans just knocking on his door...and got the vibe, he wasn't real good with all that. Maybe I can convince my partner in this Tim to do it...I'll just sit in the car watch our plan just go down the tubes. I should probably handle this myself...keep ya all posted..unless ya know...the cops are dragging me off his property..and throwing me in jail.

A friend and I are working on putting out an online music magazine. Its going to feature the Northwest tattoo and music scene. We are going to post video of shows going on in the Seattle area..along with links to connect with these bands. You will be able to get updates, show dates..merchandise..and anything else you need to know about the local music scene. We also want to feature some of the incredible tattoo artists in this area..with video of them actually tattooing, interviews..and just kind of a day in the life type deal. You will be able to register your email address, and receive updates..and show dates from your favorite bands..along with links on where to get their music or merchandise. This blog is going to document the process of putting all this together..and be like a weekly journal. If your in a local band..starting a band..or a local tattoo artist and want some exposure..definitely check us out. You can email us any show video..or links to music..and if its killer..it gets posted. The name of the magazine is still undecided, so if you have any suggestions..lets hear it!
