We know the Steelers are headed to the playoffs. As we all know, we want the Patriots and Ravens and Browns to lose today. That sounds like a typical Sunday in any Steeler fans life. The only thing out of the ordinary is that we want the Bungles to win!

It looks like the Steelers are planning to let Ben rest Saturday against the Rams and probably the next week in Cleveland. This makes complete sense. His performance Monday proved he was not mobile enough to get the job done. After that loss we’re probably relegated to a wild card appearance. Let’s give Ben a chance to heal and get ready for the post season. We have done well in past with a low playoff seed. We certainly have a better chance with a healthy Ben at the helm.

That being said, the team seems to be Hell bent on putting Batch in there. I know he has the experience but really hope they start giving Dixon some time. Batch doesn’t have much left. I really hope Batch and Dixon split the duties in these final two games.

UPDATE: Okay, I could not have been more incorrect than I was in this post. The only thing I was right about was “Injuries will be the big story tonight”. Of course, the rest of the story was that the entire team sucked. There was blame to be laid in every corner of that locker room.

There’s a new gold rush in San Francisco tonight. The 49ers are hosting the Black n Gold Steelers in a very important late season game. For the Niners it’s a chance at the post season. For the Steelers, who have already clicnched a post season spot, it would give them the first seed position in the AFC. Having that home field advantage could be huge.

Injuries will be the big story tonight. Marquis Pouncey is out with his high ankle sprain. As expected, Big Ben is expected to start. Steeler fans have come to expect that he’ll play through virtually anything. If you’ve ever had a high ankle sprain you know how difficult this will be for him. It will be shocking if he finishes this game. The defense will have to pick up their game. Troy needs to play at full throttle. The O line also needs to be on it. The loss of Pouncey makes their job even more difficult. They absolutely have to protect Ben like the Secret Service protects the President.

I like the Steelers tonight. They usually do well when they’re up against difficult situations. We all know Ben plays well through his injuries. Go Steelers! There’s gold in them thar hills.
