Tweetglide is a solid and great product but definitely not good for marketing and advertising. There is better alternative right now like tweetdeck and seesmic web.

An old idea on a new format

I swear, I was very happy to download and test tweetglide until I start use it. The main reason I download tweetglide was for his free marketing solution. The idea to advertise for free on twitter was wonderful.

Let me tell you, this is where the dream stops. After 1 hour I realise that tweetglide is an old idea put on a new format.

Do you remember those banner exchange programs, traffic exchange programs or even those safe list programs? Do you remember those old systems from the past?

Guess what? Tweetglide is just a new format from those old systems.

What’s make it so bad?

Those systems attract advertisers only and that’s a huge problem.

Most of them will always focus to advertise. A very few will be there for fun. Therefore this tool becomes a great tool for business that helps advertisers only.

The idea was tested before with those old systems now tweetglide simply change the format for twitter.

I found a huge problem in tweetglide.

Why would I use a program that show ads all the time when you can have the same product without this restriction.

Seriously would you choose the channel that interrupt the movie every 10 minutes with ads or the one that never interrupt the movie? Both of them are free. The answer is pretty easy.

Tweetglide is a solid and great product but definitely not good for marketing and advertising. This ads column is annoying.

You can make money with snapdollars but it is pocket change. You need to add value to attract more money. There is one simple way to do so.

Yesterday I receive an e-mail from snapdollars. Inside that e-mail they would give me $5 for each person I refer to their website.

At this moment I start to check every person I know. I could get easily $50. I was very happy.

5 minutes later, I calm down and decide to think about it more seriously. Someone will give me $5 for each person I send to their website.

The secret on how they can give you so much by doing so little

My main question is what the catch is.

A lot of questions pop up in my mind. I decide to follow the money road.

Let’s check this out. If I give you $5, I expect to make at least $6 for a $1 profit. Sounds like a good business. More I dig in it and I realise that the profit is bigger than that.

Some offer pay $ 4.50 … after a hardcore research I find out that snapdollars can get up to $12 to that offer. Do the math, they get $12 if you sign up, and they give you $4.50 out of $12.

Now it is clear that the real business is to contact those advertisers directly.

After a long search again, I find many options to contact those advertisers directly. The best way to contact those advertisers is to provide more value. In the case of snapdollars, they pay people so they can attract many people for those advertisers.

I’m happy to tell you that this is not the best way.

You can operate your own simple home business.

Example:

You can act as a local stylist. You give advice to dress correctly to go to a first date for example. You build a local community and then you can contact an advertiser and say I help x amount of people… How much you will pay if I refer someone to you.

Then you give away a new tip and highlight your suggestion of the day as a promotion for the advertiser.

It is crazy and simple. I plan to release a simple how to market local like crazy with internet.

You can make money with snapdollars but the real money is not there. You need to add value to attract more money.

Never let the door open because those Spammers and Scammers will destroy your online business in 1 month. Let me explain you my very own experience.

3 years ago, I decide to start an online business. My goal was to be better than ebay and cragslist. The door was open to anyone. Some legit person comes in to promote their products, services and events.

After that, I noticed that my user base grow so quickly. I was happy because finally my online business had real traction.

The main problem with those users, they were not legit. They promote shady stuff online. I didn’t know how to handle this situation. Anytime I delete a couple, a couple more comebacks.

When I finally try to stop this madness, the website get hack.

So what can you lean from my experience.

Set tight rule and apply them as fast as possible.
Market your tight rule. (explain why it is important and why the great user will benefit from that)

Never try to please to everyone. Stay focus to those tight rules.

I think twitter must check those ad networks because many users start to cross a line between endorsement and opinion without clear disclosure.

Wait before you upgrade from XP to windows 7 or…

I own a regular computer that I bought 1 month before windows Vista was out. My computer is 100% compatible with windows Vista.

Like many of you, I stay with windows XP for productivity reason.

Now I feel, it is time to ride with windows 7 but major surprises happen.

Windows 7 won’t be as smooth as the commercial.
