New City, New Website, and the best part new technology! Developing the new Blakice Media Group has been months in the works. Last year was a worldwind year as far as new clients and opportunities. And this year starting with our move to Raleigh North Carolina. Building on that momentum, not only to try and top last year but to put to test a lot of new online technology. I am a cronic researcher, I dont think there has been anything I bought without first a visit to amazon.com to read reviews. Books, new FlipCams, iPad2, and this site has all been trough the ringer a couple of times.

First this site is built on WordPress Multisite, many dont know there was a big brother to wordpress that allows you to run multiple wordpress sites from one database. This is very helpful when testing client sites, it takes mear seconds to setup clientname.blakicemediagroup.com. We have quite a few new sites and projects coming on line that utilize the new Multisite feature of WordPress. Partnered with Buddypress you can create your own social network.

WordPress is a blogging platform, but it isnt just for blogging. As you see with this site we have a blog page and the rest of the site is setup as a CMS (content management solution). This just shows how versatile wordpress is and why we use it as the platform of choice for our clients.

Even though we have a blog here we also have a secondary blog on Tumblr. Our blog here will be our primary outlet for all things great about Blakice. Tumblr will be a “casual” blog for articles we find or videos we like.

A lot of you got here through our new newsletter, that email was powered by Mailchimp. We love mail chimp, it has all the bells and whistles and stats a person could ask for. And its really easy to use, we reccomend it to all our clients looking to develop a email marketing campaign.

And to bring all of this together we use a slue of google services from adwords, analytics, google apps, and sync. It may sound like a lot and it can be overwhelming but everything plays well together through an assortment of API’s and little widgets.
