So, it is through our belief and faith in the blood of Christ that we become justified in the eyes of God. His blood therefore becomes the bond that joins us to God, and entitles us to God's covenant provision. Those that are fainthearted and faltering, with minds that doubt, will never shed the burden that was placed on them to pray in the first place. If we read the story of Jonah and the whale, we will see that God only used the prophet one time because of his unforgiving, self-righteous attitude. Because Jonah disliked the people of Ninevah so much personally, he refused to prophesy God's warning to them and fled from God's presence, or should I say, he tried to evade God. Jonah had the same attitude of what was later to be known as a Pharisee in the New Testament. He, like the Pharisees, said he loved God, but his initial willful disobedience, and his anger because God wanted to show mercy to Ninevah, shows us he was religious not righteous, nationalistic rather than seeing God loves all people and thought of himself and Israel as exclusive rather than separate. Noah gathered his family along with a sampling of all creation to himself to preserve them from the wrath of God and the predestined destruction of the world. He built an ark that would contain that part of creation that had been previously chosen to survive. How was this choice made? It was based on creation's willingness to come to him, and the size of the ark was determined by this number. On a much larger scale, Christ like Noah is gathering His family, along with all creation, to preserve them from the predestined judgment and destruction that is again coming to this world. To continue chopping away at the false doctrine relating to Paradise, let us begin by pointing out, if we say someone is foxy, we don't mean they are a literal fox. The Hebrews also called undesirable men dogs, but they did not mean they were really dogs either. The point I'm trying to make is, just as we saw that the tree of good and evil and the Tree of Life was not the same as the natural trees in the garden of Eden, we see from the above scripture the serpent likewise was not a literal serpent. What is the Feast of Hanukkah?

Hanukkah in the New Testament is called the feast of Dedication. Jesus Himself actually celebrated this feast. This Blast gives a brief historical overview of the origin of this feast. However, it also shows us that while the first Hanukkah was celebrated in commemoration of the victory God's people were given over the evil race of people of their era, it at the same time foreshadowed a future victory over man's systems and the religions that back them. Why Do We Celebrate the Feasts Instead of Christmas?

I guess the very best answer would be, because God said to! On the other hand, the reason we do not celebrate Christmas is simply that there is nowhere in the Bible that we are instructed to do so, not even to honor Jesus' birthday. In other words it's not scriptural. However, the Word of God does tell us in Leviticus 23 to celebrate and experience His feasts, which He lists by name, and sets the time. Continue reading →

Full Circle Back to the Garden

If at death we end back up in paradise, Adam and Eve's original home, why did we have to leave it in the first place? It's a story we all for the most part understand, but perhaps the ending has a little different twist than what we've been shown or taught before. As we know, man was created to live on earth and have dominion over all. He was to exist in a beautiful garden like environment and to go forth from there, subduing the whole earth, making all of it a garden, as they multiplied in number. The whole planet in other words was to be subdued and made into a paradise or park like condition for God's earthly family to live in. They did have one restriction however, that would test their obedience. God has not changed His mind. His original plan is still in place. Continue reading →
