Canst thou forget that sad, that solemn day,
When victims at yon altar's foot we lay?

And Paradise was open'd in the wild.

Here brib'd the rage of ill-requited heav'n:
But such plain roofs as piety could raise,
And only vocal with the Maker's praise.

These moss-grown domes with spiry turrets crown'd,
Where awful arches make a noonday night,
And the dim windows shed a solemn light;
Thy eyes diffus'd a reconciling ray,
And gleams of glory brighten'd all the day.
But now no face divine contentment wears,
'Tis all blank sadness, or continual tears.
See how the force of others' pray'rs I try,
(O pious fraud of am'rous charity!)
But why should I on others' pray'rs depend?
Come thou, my father, brother, husband, friend!
Ah let thy handmaid, sister, daughter move,
And all those tender names in one, thy love!
The darksome pines that o'er yon rocks reclin'd
Wave high, and murmur to the hollow wind,
The wand'ring streams that shine between the hills,
The grots that echo to the tinkling rills,
The dying gales that pant upon the trees,
The lakes that quiver to the curling breeze;
No more these scenes my meditation aid,
Or lull to rest the visionary maid.
But o'er the twilight groves and dusky caves,
Long-sounding aisles, and intermingled graves,
Black Melancholy sits, and round her throws
A death-like silence, and a dread repose:
Her gloomy presence saddens all the scene,
Shades ev'ry flow'r, and darkens ev'ry green,
Deepens the murmur of the falling floods,
And breathes a browner horror on the woods.

Yet here for ever, ever must I stay;
Sad proof how well a lover can obey!
Death, only death, can break the lasting chain;
And here, ev'n then, shall my cold dust remain,
Here all its frailties, all its flames resign,
And wait till 'tis no sin to mix with thine.

Ah wretch! believ'd the spouse of God in vain,
Confess'd within the slave of love and man.

Sprung it from piety, or from despair?

Following is a message from 'Nadia Pero,' A self proclaimed "Dirge Pop" rock group based out of Utah and Connecticut.

Thanks to everybody who came out to Why Sound Saturday night. You made all the difference... we love you all.

This show was certainly our last show in Utah for a while, however Nadia Pero is by no means done. Nadia Pero is and has always been a three way collaboration between 'Full Metal Lizard' (Jeff Fullmer), 'J-Dub' (Jacob Bryner), and 'Portrait' (Jake Johnson). NadiaPero.com remains the news headquarters for all three of these projects as well as future Nadia Pero shows ands recordings.

Drop us some comments on the site, we would love to hear what you thought of the show... from now on NadiaPero.com will be our base of operation, and since the members will now be spread out, a way to disburse new music and show dates. Please follow the blog to stay up to date with Nadia Pero news and the more you interact with the site with comments etc.... the more we will integrate your comments and communicate back. I have set up the site so that we can count the visits... this traffic will be one of the sole determinants for us landing a spot on tour in the future. Every once in a long while, something sneaks up on me and breaks my neck in a most fantastically erotic way. The Human Experimente has me swimming the vast sea of twiterpation that was unleashed upon the world with the original release of King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man.

Serration high, endorphins pulsing; I haven't been this excited since I got to the middle of my 1 3/4 inch Jurassic Park Jawbreaker (or "The Raptor's Egg" for those true Jurassic Park fans out there)to find the fossilized mosquito within. (If you had a bad experience with your Jurassic Park jawbreaker, there is a community for you to).

One Pill Makes You Autistic -- And One Pill Changes You Back

Need to finish that work project, and wish you had the mental intensity to do it? Just take a synapse-regulating inhibitor, induce temporary autism, and you'll want to ignore your friends and do nothing but number-crunching for days. Autism-inducers could become as popular as Provigil among the geek set by 2020. Last night, in fact, a group German researchers announced they'd perfected the method for inducing autism. (They can also cure it.)

Over the past year, researchers have demonstrated several times that they can turn mice autistic by messing with brain chemistry -- and then "cure" them using the same techniques. The discoveries could lead to a scenario similar to the one in Vernor Vinge's novel A Deepness in the Sky, where people are given a brain treatment called "focusing" that essentially turns them autistic and makes them obsessive, detail-oriented workers.

It might also lead to recreational autism, where people who want to take a break from having messy emotions about other people decide to unplug and enter a state where human relationships are no more important than inanimate objects.

I have been back for three weeks roughly. Thank you Tucker, for the beautiful transition picture. Where would I start I wondered? How would I begin my life anew. Little did I know my life in Utah wasn't just here, but here and waiting. So many little projects, little things to do that I had constructed to fill my time. So much junk that I am now throwing away... I want less and less of this space filling junk. I feel very often like the trip never happened, and that I now have fleeting visions of far off lands. As my memory sets in, what my senses once felt decays. Its as tho I ascended into a dream for a few months, and now I am awake and desperately seeking life construction.

I realize that all I have is the here and now, and I desire to do many things. To find some way of mobilizing little cache valley into constructive thought about all things Cache valley. Is it possible, I wonder, for this community to destroy? To destroy social barriers like they do liquor licenses? Maybe I shall have to find out...

I have no moving last words, but I will try and make up for that by posting pictures once I am back. Tucker and I are all packed up ,and our room again has taken on the clean hollow ambience of a new apartment, or in our case, a friendly bleached cell. We will be spending tonight saying all of our goodbyes and trying to find some sort of impossible closure for the life changing experiances we all just shared. Its very hard... and strange, to think that I will never see all these people in the same place again, after we have all become such good friends. Even our little groups of 5 or more friends might never again get to travel together.... here comes the next big step... and once I get home, their will be no way to come close to explaining most anything that has happened to me.
