Goodbye, Restaurant City

Playfish announced they will be closing down Restaurant City on 29th June, 2012…. and surprisingly, I am no surprised. In fact, it has been many months since I played the game. The only time I log in is when I received requests on my Facebook wall.

According to Playfish, the reason they are closing is because the game is no longer popular. Well, the reason I stopped playing is the game became a chore to play. A lot of times, when I DO want to play it, I couldn’t load it, or it was down for maintenance. And then the moment passed…

Besides closing down Restuanrat City on Facebook, Restaurant City: Gourmet Edition on iOS will also be offline. Glad that I did not spend any real money on the game….pity those who DID! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Goodbye Country Story, goodbye Restaurant City. What’s next?

Travel For Free

It was some months ago that I searched the internet trying to look for information on how to travel for free. One of them is to be a travel writer… I was a writer before, just that I hardly travelled because of cost.

But what do you know? I just came back from a most amazing FREE vacation to Lumut, Perak. Yes, this vacation destination may be near my hometown but I think it is a good start. In fact, I can already see myself enjoying myself in this new holiday-cum-work. What a refreshing change!

I may not be able to see where money comes from but I hope that my efforts bear fruit, somehow! Wish me luck!

Google Doodle – ZIP

Today’s Google Doodle is quite creative. Although the graphics could be better, the idea is there. When you go to Google.com, you would see a zip. You need to click your mouse at the top of the zipper, hold it down and drag your cursor from top to bottom of the zip. You will reveal the Google search results for ‘Gideon Sundback’, the Swedish-American electrical engineer who invented the zip.

Isn’t it strange that men are the ones who invent things that women use more? He was born today, 24th April, in 1880. Happy birthday!
