I took a month off from blogging recently. I still did blog, but with twenty blogs in my name, there were blogs that I blogged daily, sometimes with multiple posts per day and there were blogs that I blogged once a week. For most of my passion blogs, I did not even access for an entire month.

I do this sometimes because I need to put things into perspective and I do not want to feel like blogging has become a chore. I used to pressure myself but after two years of full time blogging, I know when I should let go and when to only do what matters the most.

Of course, my traffic suffered a lot during this month which means that my affiliate income went down the drain too. However, my AdSense revenue stayed strong and I am happy for that. It shows me which blog has the most potential to earn from AdSense and which blog has the most search engine friendly keywords.

During my sabbatical, it did not mean that I ran out of topics to blog about. In fact, there were many topics that I would love to comment on or provide an opinion but I did not feel like I MUST blog about it when I come across something. Blog addicts would understand what I mean.

Without an attachment to my passion blogs, I had plenty of time on my hands. I could sleep more and I caught up on Korean and TVB dramas and movies. I don’t know when I would start blogging intensively again but I guess I would soon be bored with doing “nothing”.

It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival tomorrow and celebrations are held tonight where the moon is said to be the roundest throughout the year. I am not sure about that because I cannot measure or compare them!

If you want to read about the Mid-autumn Festival, or more popularly known as the Mooncake Festival, you can search the web where there are plenty of legendary stories, whether they are true or not. Well, that’s immaterial because it’s Chinese culture to pray to the moon once a year on the night of the fourteenth day of the eight moon on the Chinese lunar calendar.

While some of my friends will be celebrating this significant day, with their families, I will not. I am at home working. I think it’s a good time to catch up on some with while the family is outdoors enjoying the moon, eating mooncakes, nuts and other sweetmeats.

Anyway, this Mooncake Festival, we did not have too many mooncakes which is just as well because they are so sweet! Nobody should eat too many mooncakes. It should be just symbolic.
