This painting is a commission and was a gift for Christmas. Leslie, Murphy's owner's sister who lives in California told me that Murphy and her dog were good friends and always played together. She wanted to give this to her sister in memory of Murphy, I hope it brings her wonderful memories of Murphy.

Have not posted in awhile, I have been busy painting but doing landscapes and stilllifes, posted some new ones on my art website. Anyway, thought I would do a Pug, since it is Christmas time I added a festive green backgound. Hope to have more time to get back to painting my doggies. Freddie The Beagle

This is Freddie the beagle, he is the old man of the group. This is the last of three beagle paintings I did as a commission. I hope they like the paintings and I think they will look good all hung together. Freddie has that beigy, soft worn look that beagles get as they get on in years, they age much better than us humans maybe because he is not worrying about his 401k.

This is a painting of a Rhodesian Ridgeback, they are elegant, strong and intelligent dogs. They were orginally used in Southern Africa to hunt large animals. Although now most of them can be spotted lounging on the sofa watching the Animal Planet on cable.
