This meeting is not only a chance to reflect on the progress we’ve made over the past year but, also to participate in decisions that directly influence the future of our neighbourhood. The AGM serves as a platform for transparency and collaboration, where members can review the proposed 2026 operating budget, discuss how BIA funds are allocated, and learn more about how these investments will continue to enhance the local business environment.

The event was well attended with volunteers and local families that came out to help out! We were also joined by representatives from Toronto Police Services - 13th Division, and MPP Michelle Cooper. Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us at the event!

This exciting event, presented by the Fairbank Village BIA, brings a modern twist to the classic summer carnival extravaganza. With free admission, rides, and entertainment, it’s an event you won’t want to miss.

We’re thrilled to announce that Honeymoon Suite will headline this year’s Summerfest by joining us on Saturday, June 21st! Additionally, on Sunday we’ll have a Latin Music Jam with several performances throughout the day. Don’t forget to invite your family and friends for a weekend full of fun.

The festival will take place along Eglinton Avenue West, just west of Dufferin. Last year, the Fairbank Summerfest attracted over 80,000 attendees. In addition, the festival showcases a diverse array of food from around the world, highlighting Eglinton West as a cultural hotspot.

Furthermore, we have transformed our ordinary utility boxes and poles into captivating art pieces by adorning them with unique and eye-catching paintings. These artistic elements not only add charm to the neighborhood but also reflect the creativity and spirit of the community. Thanks to Monica and Camila of Andinas Art Collective.

Additionally, we continue to work on the integration of mosaics into local planters to make them captivating and attractive for both residents and visitors. Thank you to Jenny May + Team! We are looking forward to seeing this project completed so everyone in all areas of the BIA can enjoy them!

Fairbank Summerfest 2023 showcased a diverse range of entertainment, from the colossal Ferris wheel, the Superdogs show, Chris the captivating fire-eater, and last but not least, an incredible performance from the iconic 80’s band Men Without Hats that brought so many fans to Fairbank! There was a wide range of musical acts for everyone! The kids had a terrific time jumping around on the bouncy castles and enjoying other rides and attractions. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the businesses and volunteers who played a crucial role in making this year’s festival a resounding success. Your dedication, support, and contribution created lasting memories for everyone involved. Thank you for your invaluable participation in this remarkable festival. Thanks for coming out and making this year's Summerfest bigger and better than ever before!

Our “Colouring the Fairbank” mosaic tile project is underway!

The community is getting a new splash of colours. The planter boxers around the community are getting a complete makeover. Thanks to Jenny and her team of artists, each planter box is being remodelled in tile pieces. Each side of every box has a different design and every planter has a different theme. This project will help beautify the community and make the streets brighter and full of colour.

Over the next months, every planter box within Fairbank Village will receive a unique makeover. We are very excited to share this progress report with you and we are looking forward to more! We hope that you are just as excited as we are in anticipation of the potential of this project.

Summerfest 2022 is officially over and it was even more amazing than we expected!

After a 2-year hiatus, our festival returned much to the enjoyment of the entire Fairbank business and resident community. Thank you to everyone in the neighbourhood who came and enjoyed the free rides and experienced the many tasty food vendors. We hope you had as much fun as we did! Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help with the event - Summerfest would not be the same without all our volunteer support! Special thanks to Superior Events for working with us to provide all the great live entertainment. Thank you to the local businesses and food vendors for offering a variety of foods and specialty items to festival attendees. We would also like to give a special shout out to all the vendors and organizations that contributed to creating a rich and diverse atmosphere for everyone. We want to send a big thank you to Gino’s No Frills for giving us the space to offer some fantastic rides to the community. Lastly, thank you to MP Julie Dzerowicz, and MP Marco Mendicino for coming out and to support the festival.

We had a wide variety of entertainment options at Summerfest 2022. From the colossal paratrooper ride, to the fire eating show, we had many different types of acts for everyone. From Caribbean to Soul to Pop, we had music to suit everyone’s taste. All of the kids had a terrific time jumping around on the bouncy castles and other inflatable rides. And many of you even left with prizes as well! From basketball shooting to ski ball, there were many fun games you could play to try and bring home a special prize for the folks at home.

We hope to see you all next year - we can’t wait for Summerfest 2023!

A look back at our previous Fairbank Summerfests:

Over the past couple of years, almost 20,000 people have joined us for this spectacular 2-day event. This year we have extended it and have made it 3 DAYS OF FUN. The street festival includes food vendors of various types of cuisine from all around the world, a sidewalk sale, and (don’t forget) the free rides. There will be bouncy castles, a ferris wheel, and many more exciting rides & activities.

The movies will be played on a large 25’ screen on Shortt Street between TD and Pizza Hut. This event is completely FREE to attend. It is recommended that you bring your own blanket or chair, or feel free to grab a spot on one of the benches on the sides.

Every time a shopper spends $20 or more at any business in the Fairbank community, they can enter their receipt into the contest and get a chance to win $1,000. Of which, the winner will share $500 with the business that they shopped at to enter the contest and keep the other $500. This contest will last 6 weeks with a $1,000 draw every week. At the end of the contest, any participant that has entered in 3 different weeks will be automatically entered into a Grand Prize Draw of 2 $1,200 prizes.

Tip! You can gain more entries into the contest in the same week with these methods:

• You can gain one entry per business per day. This means that you can go to different business on the same day, shop for more than $20 and enter for another entry.

• Writing a google review for a local business and uploading a screenshot of the review is also a valid entry into the contest. You can enter up to 7 times per week in this way.
