Jesus is the only way to God!"

It's a great question, and they're absolutely right. Jesus taught, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me."

In no way is this simple drawing meant to remove Christ from our journey. In fact Christ is central to God's great plan of happiness. Everything about the plan of salvation would be null and void without the essential role Jesus plays in it.

Maybe the best answer is that the graphic is not so much a description of how to return to God, but a map of places and events all God's children will pass through on the way back to God's presence.

Jesus is in every step of the plan:

In the great council in heaven before the earth was created, Jesus volunteered to be the savior of mankind. “Thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever."

Just like each of us, Jesus was born into the world and received a body of flesh and blood.

Jesus lived life on earth and experienced temptation, hunger, fatigue, happiness, pain and more, just as we do. He lived an unblemished life, and most importantly he endured the atonement, taking upon himself the sins, suffering and pains of the world.

Christ died on the cross – willingly gave up his mortal life – so that we might live.

Between the time of his death and resurrection, Jesus visited the spirit world where organized the church so that his gospel could be preached to those who had not accepted him during their mortal lives.

Christ's glorious resurrection made it possible for all mortals to be raised from the dead.

When each of us faces final judgement, we will stand at the pleasing bar of Christ with a perfect recollection of all our life's deeds and the intentions of our hearts.

At that point, we will know with certainty how much of Christ's influence we are comfortable with as we are assigned to an eternal degree of glory.

Even in outer darkness where the influence of Jesus will never be felt, those sons of perdition are consigned to eternal damnation because they rejected Christ.

So, where is Jesus in the plan of happiness? He is everywhere! He was there before we came to earth and he will be there at the very end.

It is also comforting to know that he is here with us now. Not only does he personally lead the church through living prophets and apostles, he has a profound influence on the lives of those individuals who earnestly seek him and allow him into their lives through prayer, repentance and obedience to his commandments.

Surely, this is the way to happiness.

Board Game Bash

We, the owners of LDS Happiness, would like to take this moment to share a little more about ourselves. Although we have a Pinterest Board that shares quite a bit about us, there is one aspect of this earth-life we particularly enjoy that isn't terribly prominent on our board. While do we enjoy finding new and simple ways of sharing the gospel, we also spend far more time than we like to admit playing board games, or tabletop games in general.

This obsession reached a new high this last weekend when we attended the annual Board Game Bash in Austin, Texas. It was a truly humbling experience. We thought we knew board gaming until we attended this gaming convention. We saw board games that we've never even thought could exist: Board games that take hours just to set up, games that take up 8 or 9 tables, games whose pieces are so delicate it makes you nervous just to watch, and everything in between. And, this isn't even a big convention, or so we're told.

However, amidst all this, there were two things that stuck out to us more than just the variety of games we witnessed. We saw a variety of people too. They all loved games, this we all held in common. And do you know what else? We never saw a single person tuned out from the world, distracted by the ever-present cell phone. This was amazing. Over 300 people, and everyone had better things to do than see what they had missed on social media. No one ever put a game on hold because something 'better' came up on his screen. Even when people seemingly had nothing to do, their phone was in their pocket!

The other thing that astonished us was how much mutual respect there was for everyone, and everything. For example, the convention had a library of games to choose from. Nobody was there, standing guard, to check games in or out. It was simply, 'if you take it, bring it back' - no questions asked. The same went for your individual games; if you left them on a table while you went to lunch...then they'd be there when you returned.

As we pondered what we had witnessed during our return trip home, we concluded we liked what we saw. We liked it very much. Nowadays you hear so much of how you must watch your back at all times and how everyone is growing more and more disconnected as a result of social media. We didn't see any of that in Austin at this convention. We saw social interaction and not social disconnect; we saw warm smiles instead of cold hearts. We saw games bring people together, and it was fantastic!

Here are some photos we took of the event.

What's your favorite board game?
It has been declared many times over that one of the only things well all hold in common is time. We are all given the same amount of time everyday. In a world that is constantly growing more diverse, this one truth cannot be changed. Disproportionate amounts of time are not allowed. Extra time, it appears, is allowed.

Today, every member of the human race is given a gift, the gift of an extra second. Everyday for the past three years, and everyday for the foreseeable future, will have have 86,4000 seconds. Except for today. Today we are given 86,401!

It doesn't seem like much, as far as time goes, but it does make today rather, unique don't you think? What will you do with you extra time on such an exceptional day? What can be done in one second? Well, here is a website dedicated to capturing everyone's seconds an putting them all together on this glorious day. Enjoy!

Well, we sent out a few more, and we keep getting the most wonderful stories and experiences from so many of you!

We just had to share some of them:

I teach the valiant 10 &11 classes. This year's lessons began with a discussion on the plan of happiness. My team teacher and I were able to use the shirt to introduce our discussion. During each part of the discussion, we have put the logo on the board and used it as a visual aid. The kids loved it and are constantly referring back to it in our lessons. It is especially rewarding when they are able to make sense of the symbols and have an "ah-ha" moment.

–––

I gave my brother the Plan of Salvation shirt for Christmas. He put it on immediately. That evening, he proposed to his girlfriend. So a proposal occurred while this shirt was worn. Coincidence? I doubt it.

–––

I have a seminary student that stopped coming to seminary this year. It is his senior year of high school... I have been very concerned about him. So I decided to give him one of the T-shirts as a Christmas gift. I had it wrapped and told him that once he opened it if he wasn't sure what it was to send me a text and I would share the meaning. Of course he did not, but one Sunday I saw him and asked if he was able to figure it out and he said no, so I was able to share it was the Plan of Salvation!! Teach the Plan anyway we can....

–––

I gave this shirt to my son who is a sophomore in high school. He really wanted it. After the first day of wearing it he said he had several people ask him what it meant and was able to explain it. Great idea!!!

–––

My 15-year-old daughter takes pride in her shirt and wears it whenever she can. We happen to live in the new Gilbert Temple District, and during the weeks of the open house, my daughter had been wearing her shirt. Finally, one of her teachers at school asked what it meant. She explained what it meant and it led to a discussion about why temples are important. This left her teacher longing for more, and so she was able to go to the temple open house and have the Spirit testify to her of God's plan for us. All of this because my daughter was able to teach a simple yet profound lesson on the Plan of Salvation from your shirt. Miracles happen all around us, and I am glad that she was able to take part in that miracle.

–––

Growing up, my dad reviewed the Plan of Salvation with us at least a couple of times a year for Family Home Evening. When I saw your shirt, I had to share it on my family Facebook page. Everyone loved it and my older sister said it may have to be our family shirt. Sadly, my dad moved his 'You Are Here' asterisk to the next circle over on his birthday last year, but it still reminds me of the many wonderful things he taught the family. I bought one for my missionary's first birthday in the field. I can't wait for him to see it!

–––

I thought my missionary daughter could use one to wear on P-days. She loves it and loves when people stop and ask her what it means. She was wearing it on a P-day and went into a store, the cashier asked her what it meant, they told him they could come back and share the meaning behind it, he said ok. They went back and in the end that cashier was baptized. All because of a little shirt and a missionary who wanted to share her message.

We are thrilled that people are using the shirts to hasten the Lord's good work! And we are really grateful to those who have taken a moment to share their inspiring experiences with us.

Have you had an experience with the Plan of Happiness logo? We'd love to hear about it! Please leave a comment below or on our Facebook page.

Stickers

It's a small step, but we've added little two and a half inch stickers to our site - only 10 cents a piece! He was playing sports with some local members of the church and some guys they've been teaching. He said his mom in California had found it online and just had to send him one.

It was a thrill for me to see this little thing I created go out in the world and come full circle back to Houston. And it didn’t even go though Utah!

But I know it’s circulating in Utah too. An old friend who used to live in Houston noted on Facebook this week that while traveling by train from Salt Lake City to Provo he saw someone board the train wearing one of the shirts. I think that’s so cool!

Obviously, if people buy shirts, they’re going to wear them, but the little kid in me just gets so excited to see and hear of people boldly going out with this message.

And that’s really the whole point – to have a way to quietly, subtly share the gospel of Jesus Christ. When people see the graphic and ask about it, an opportunity arises to explain that life has a purpose, that God loves His children and wants us to return to Him. It’s a chance to bear testimony of simple, life-altering truths.

So, have you worn your shirt out in public? What kind of response did you get? months ago, I was teaching a youth Sunday School class, and in the
course of the lesson I drew a simplified Plan of Happiness on the board,
as I have done many times. Some of the kids had never seen it, and once
they figured it out, they got excited.

"I get it!" they said. "That's so cool!" they said. "You should put that on a shirt!" they said.

"Hmm. Why not?" I said.

So
I did. And I've been surprised and thrilled at the response! Every time
I wear it, people light up and ask me where they can get one.

That's why I've created this site: to share this simple idea and help spread the news about God's Great Plan of Happiness.

So, what brings you joy? What makes you happy?
