Last year this time, you may think the off-the-shoulder top/dress is just another trend, but it stays and became a wardrobe essential for most girls! The top is flirty, flattering, and hide your pit stains- what more could you want from a single piece of clothing? But unfortunately, this trend might not work so well with particular body type depending on the shape and cuts. I have seen quite a few cute looks with a tulle skirt last season and thought they look way too cute and princessy... so I ignored that trend :P However, SheIn approached me for collaborations and I found this black midi length tulle skirt with a clean A line shape, so I decided to give it a try. I paired it with a super casual black and white stripe T-shirt, and a moto leather jacket for a casual cool look. I think it's interesting to transform a piece that's so iconically "girly" into something edgy. 

About the fit: it looks like a midi skirt on the website, but it fits me more like a maxi skirt due to my petite frame. The elastic waist band looked a little cheap but I found it practical. The T-shirt fits well, but I almost wish it to be either a cropped top, or slightly oversize for better styling. But overall, I think these pieces are extremely versatile and good for any off duty looks on the weekends!

Sorry that I had been gone for a while with no updates on my blog. I went on a trip to Asia for almost 3 months, and it was a very fruitful trip, but it's also tiring, and I really miss home. I'm finally came back to the city from a very long X'mas vacation. I had to say I feel home when I'm in New York, I am constantly being inspired by the urban chic vibe from people around me. Naturally, I wear a lot more black, white and grey colored clothes.  Recently, I got this coat from Mute by Joanna Lu and thought its classic shape and color goes well with pretty much all outfits.

The open front can be closed using the metal ring with Italian handmade tassels , and comes with suit pockets. The quality is great wth cashmere blend, which means it's kinda lightweight. The only thing I will suggest for anyone who's interesting in purchasing and live in a cold area like New York is that, because it's open front, it doesn't really keep you warm when it's windy. So paring with a thick scarf will be perfect! Plus they stylish together!

I spent some quality time with family on Carnival cruise to Mexico during the Christmas holiday! To me, cruise is for "lazy" people, you don't plan where to eat or where to play, the cruise has hourly activities planned for you on a daily basis, you can simply pick and choose what you want to do or nothing at all. As I traveled across the west coast, I am very fascinated by the varieties of cactus in California.I have never seen these big ones with red "fruits", therefore, I can't help but took some photos and googled it later at home. It's prickly pear cactus. Prickly pear soaks up selenium from the soil and volatilizes it- that is, causes it to evaporate, thus reducing the liklihood that the mineral will wind up in water.

I went to a destination wedding in Napa last week and took the opportunity to get away from the city and embrace the nature. I was so happy to find this airbnb place in Sonoma; it's a romantic cottage studio surrounded by endless greens and colorful plants. You will feel transformed to another era as you step into the sheltered walls of the 2 acre adobe compound. When I first arrived and walked through the gate, I thought I was in a Italian Villa. The interior is creative, especially the bathroom, it's well stocked with all the essential toiletries. Oh, they have very good coffee machine! One of the colors that almost always takes the stage during the fall season is the burgundy color. This eye-catching color will for sure draw some attention. The best colors that match with it are black, grey, white, navy and camel. In this outfit, I wore black and navy pieces, and let the accessories take the center stage. And if by any chance you don’t feel like ready to wear this color, try at least to add some accessories, like hat or scarf!

I found this cute dress from Dahlia, it reminds me of a barbie :) I am not into cutesy stuff, but I am always into clothes that has a strong point of view!

I have to admit this is not the easiest dress to put on, due to its intricate interior (layers of laces underneath the dress for a full effect) and delicate eyelet lace, but it caught my attention at first sight, I thought it's a great piece for fall.  Though it's a block of black, but if you look closely, you will see different shapes of lace and cutouts that's looked quite labor intensive. It's quite heavy. It comes with a great belt too! The shape of the dress is figure flattering, Anthropologies has this dress in black and white, for both petite and regular! Last but not least, I love these leaf sandals by Prada, the black and nude color combo is just perfect :)
