<![CDATA[<p>Movable Type Community Solutions will enable users to register, customize their profile and avatar, vote on posts, and track their and other members' activity, while administrators can easily manage member permissions, site content, and perform other routine administration tasks from a central location. </p>

<p>Product features:<br />
•	user profiles with avatars of user pictures<br />
•	favoriting and user voting/promotion of content items <em>[n/a for launch]</em>•	reader-contributed content (i.e. community blog entries) <br />
•	comment feeds -- publish comment feeds for site, topic, blog post and/or profile </p>

<p>Any user can now contribute to a blog using the community solutions.<br />
Here is a work flow on how to instruct users to start contributing to your blogs using the community solutions...</p>]]>
        <![CDATA[<p>Guide to users:</p>

<p><strong>Step 1: Sign in or Register using the CMS registration</strong><br />
Look out for the Sign in / Register link in the top right corner of your blog. </p>

<p><br />
Click Register if you are a new user or click Sign in if you've already have an account with the companion site.</p>

<p>Once registered, you need to verify your email address. When verified, the screen will take you back to the blog where you came from and you can create a profile and start blogging!</p>

<p><strong>Step 3: Create/Edit a Profile</strong><br />
When logged in, click on the Edit Profile link in the top right corner of the site. </p>

<p>This profile will be visible to other users when you start blogging (creating entries). You can always change your avatar and edit your website address at a later stage.</p>

<p>When you post a comment while logged in (comments are also anonymous). </p>

<p><strong>Step 3: Start blogging to someone's blog</strong><br />
To do this, you need to be signed in. <br />
Then click on Start contributing, a link below every blog entry or on the home page, and this form will appear:</p>

<p>Insert the title of your entry in the title field. Insert tags related to your subject, separate them with a comma. Keywords are for search and they help when people are searching for a subject related to your blog. It is very important to geo-tag your entries, so they can appear on the map on the blogs and are easy to find and classifiy (see previous post on this blog).<br />
You can also attach a picture to accompany your text. <br />
Click submit when you have finished writing the text. When approved by the administrator, it will appear on the blog. </p>]]>

<![CDATA[<p>There is now an additional default field in the Write Entry page for entering a full or partial postcode, i.e. geo-tagging blog posts. It was designed to help bloggers geo-tag content and serve most relevant content to a local audience and group content by location. This functionality will enable blog posts to appear as feeds on newspaper companion sites which will increase readership and usage of existing blogs. Also, it will show the blogs on a google map. More and more internet searches are based around a location and maps, so geo-tagged content is no longer a nice-to-have but an essential part of online user experience. </p>

<p>You can find the location field alongside the existing settings:</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="display: inline;"><img alt="blog_postcode.jpg" src="http://blogs.liverpoolecho.co.uk/blogassistance/blog_postcode.jpg" width="505" height="390" class="mt-image-none" style="" /></span></p>

<p><strong>1. What is the difference between geotagging and the usual blog tagging?</strong><br />
Geotagging is adding a location to your blog post: where the story originates from or what location is the story about. Tagging is adding terms that best describe the subject of the story. </p>

<p><strong>2. Full or partial postcodes?</strong><br />
<li>We highly recommend geotagging posts with a <strong>full postcode</strong>, so they can appear on other sites such as blog's newspaper companion site and maps.</li><br />
<li>For court cases, use the postcode of the place where the incident took place. </li><br />
<li>Only use partial postcodes, eg TS10 if you absolutely can't get a full postcode.</li><br />
<li>Be consistent: If you use a postcode for a hospital or school, make sure the same one is used all the time. </li><br />
</ul></p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p><strong>Goals of Blog Posts</strong> - Blogging with a purpose:<br />
<ul><br />
<li>Commercial / Editorial - evaluate user attraction and commercial interest with advertisers. What other content could sit around them? </li><br />
<li>Reader engagement: Know your readers, who are they, where are they coming from? Owner site? Google search? </li><br />
<li>Seek link traffic - Why? Because that tells Google that the blog is doing good things. </li><br />
<li>Seek advice from readers - Why have a blog if you can't start conversations? Ask your readers for an opinion. </li><br />
	<li>Promote something interesting - A restaurant, a person, a place. </li><br />
<li>Link to other bloggers - Linking out promotes linking in....</li><br />
</ul></p>]]>
        <![CDATA[<p><strong>Effective Blogs</strong> - How to write successfully:</p>

<p>	<li>Lead paragraph - tell a short story to engage them straightaway. Ask a question that gets the readers to think about themselves, even better (e.g. Have you ever thought about becoming a farmer? J)</li><br />
<li>Structure: Break it up, give the eyes a way to skim, roll into an easy summary using bold sub-titles, points etc.</li><br />
<li>Keep paragraph length short - Web readers tend to scan text online and read text offline!</li><br />
	<li>End With a Question - triggers need for a response from the user.</li><br />
<li>Promote your profile - Ask readers to tell you what is missing in your blog. Does it work for them? What topics would they like me to post?</li><br />
</ul></blockquote></blockquote></p>

<p><strong>Blogging Tasks</strong> - Frequency of updating:</p>

<p>Once every two or three days means your readers won't know what to expect. Once a week might be enough, depending on how niche your blog is. Keep with the schedule of once a week as that will increase the number of return readers/commentators and build a momentum. Readers will trust you.</p>

<p>Research material - what is going on in the area, what people want... keep links to those materials in case you want to link / refer in your blog. <br />
Consider pictures - Using pictures makes the posts pop. <br />
Tag your posts - Tags are very important for new users searching for keywords you tagged and finding your blog! <br />
Announce your best posts - use all your social network to link to it <br />
Add a bookmark facility <br />
Check traffic - understand the impact and why isn't working <br />
 <br />
<strong>Why launch a blog?</strong></p>

<p>Before you start writing, think about your aims in producing a blog. This should help the writing: check that each blog posting fits in with your aims.</p>

<p><strong>Top tips when writing blogs</strong></p>

<p>A blog is not a diary. Avoid recounting everything you did today.</p>

<p>One topic per post - make it easy for reader to grasp what the post is about</p>

<p>The headline should reflect this topic (headline should never be the date, it's not a diary).</p>

<p>Post frequently. Easier if you stick to the one topic per post - you can post many times a day if you have more than one topic to discuss.</p>

<p>Short and sweet. Around 200 words is good. Longer blogs are readable if they stick to one topic.</p>

<p>Try to end your blog with a question that encourages your readers to respond to your post. For example, 'was celebrity love island the worst show ever to appear on primetime TV?' You can always use the responses for another post.</p>

<p>Add links. Is your post prompted by a news story or something else you read on another blog? If so LINK TO IT. Link to other people/sites. Link to your previous blog on a topic. Lead users to other good places - good blogs function as a search for their readers: lead your visitors to sites and resources they wouldn't normally go to.</p>

<p>Be reciprocal when someone links to you. If someone from another blog posts a comment on your blog then return the action. Blogs are given higher rankings (and therefore considered to be more relevant and important) on search engines when they have a lot of other sites that link to them.</p>

<p>Funny helps.</p>

<p>Being deliberately controversial can also generate comments.</p>

<p>But be polite (do not denigrate your readers). The aim is start a dialogue, get comments from users, engage them not enrage them.</p>

<p>Photos. Add a photo to your posts if possible.</p>

<p>Give the readers a picture of you.</p>

<p>If it's a personal blog - for example, your struggle against cancer - think carefully about what you are trying to achieve and why - why/how do you want readers to be involved in your story.</p>

<p>Don't refer to blogger's block. If you don't have anything to write about, don't write.</p>

<p>Don't go missing on your blog for long periods of time. If you are going on holiday and won't be able to post for a week or two explain that to readers beforehand. Don't let them think you've abandoned your blog.</p>

<p>Lists are popular and easy. For example, the 10 best football matches, films etc.</p>

<p>Spell check your content.</p>

<p>Paragraph breaks between paragraphs (not just line breaks) makes it easier to read.</p>

<p>Set up categories on your blog so that readers can find all posts relevant to a specific topic in the same place.</p>

<p>Respond to your comments, both as a comment from you and by creating a new post to discuss a topic further.</p>

<p>Try to have a thick skin and enter into debate with people whether they are critical or not. If someone doesn't like what you say, explain why you said it and link to any source material. Don't start banning people because they don't agree with you.</p>

<p>Keep an eye on which posts get the most comments and return to those topics regularly. Similarly, if an issue is obviously a hot one, don't switch to something else with new posts before people have finished debating it.</p>

<p>But don't get involved in tit for tat spats with people and use a new post to start a new debate if a previous issue gets hijacked by people with personal vendettas. Develop an ear for knowing when to let a heated debate continue and when to try to moderate and move on.</p>

<p>Good blogs are not about vanity publishing - they are about engaging your readers and getting them to interact. Readers' views will enhance a debate. Remember: always invite them to write. Don't act like a rock star. Blogging is a two-way medium.</p>

<p><strong>Blogs - top 10 mistakes - by Jakob Nielsen</strong><br />
Read the full article here: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/weblogs.html</p>

<p>Summary:</p>

<p>1. No Author Biographies</p>

<p>2. No Author Photo</p>

<p>3. Nondescript Posting Titles</p>

<p>4. Links Don't Say Where They Go</p>

<p>5. Classic Hits are Buried</p>

<p>6. The Calendar is the Only Navigation</p>

<p>7. Irregular Publishing Frequency - daily is best</p>

<p>8. Mixing Topics - don't mix them up to much</p>

<p>9. Forgetting That You Write for Your Future Boss - or your current one is reading</p>

<p>10. Having a Domain Name Owned by a Web log Service (need your own domain name)</p>

<strong>Telegraph blogging style guide</strong></p>

<p>http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/technology/shanerichmond/may06/styleguide.htm</p>

<ul>
	<li>Share their knowledge/ideas on a particular topic </li>
	<li>Create a community and encourage debate </li>
	<li>Promote themselves and/or their company </li>
<li>Understand their readers' or customers' views </li>
<li>Choose your overall subject wisely: often narrow topic blogs (eg metal detecting in Merseyside) are successful as they are unlikely to have much competition, and the reader knows what sort of content they will see whenever they come. In effect, blogs are ideal for those people whose interests are an 'inch wide and a mile deep'. </li>
<li>To promote citizen publishing in each local area </li>
<li>To develop an online local community where readers share knowledge and information with each other. </li>
<li>As a natural complement to the newspaper sites' role. </li>
<li>Great design and navigation, good links </li>
<li>Clear subject matter, short blogs, lots of links to other web pages, ideas and information driven, thought provoking, good navigation (date and category) </li>
	<li>Good use of images </li>
<li>Good list of links to other interesting sites </li>
<li>Go to other bloggers' blogs, and comment on them. Then they'll come to check yours out. </li>
	<li>Add your blog to http://www.technorati.com </li>
<li>Sign up to other blogospheres. </li>

<![CDATA[<p>1. Blog Specific marketing and promotion methods</p>

<p>At the heart of a good blog will be good and focused content which will in itself attract visitors to your blog as people recommend your blog to others and also attract people who will want to link to your site.</p>

<p>In addition to this content, you should be looking t at the following elements to promote your Blog.</p>

<p> a) RSS Feed Directories</p>

<p>There are a growing number of directories where you can submit your RSS feed and where the content from the RSS can be searched on topic area and the content of individual posts.</p>

<p> b) Blog Directories</p>

<p>There are an increasing number of directories which are dedicated to blogs and which can offer a good way to get your blog referenced and linked to.</p>

<p> c) Pinging</p>

<p>Pinging, in terms of blogs, is where you send a short automatic notification to the blog servers to tell them that you have posted new information to index. Simple - just remember to post and ping!</p>

<p> d) Blog Tags</p>

<p>These are tags or phrases which are added by its author to indicate the main content focus - for blogs, the most commonly used are tags for Technorati.</p>

<p> e) Post Comments on other Blogs</p>

<p>You should not only be reading other blogs but also commenting on them. It's a way of getting your name out into the blogosphere as well as encouraging people back to your own blog.</p>

<p> f) Trackbacks</p>

<p>When referencing other blogs, then you should always link to the original source and wherever possible, you should also include a trackback as well.</p>]]>
        <![CDATA[<p>2. Burn your Feed</p>

<p>If you followed what I explained in part 1, then you will surely get extra traffic. But how do you make them come again? That's where your RSS feeds comes handy. Readers will use your blogs RSS feed if they like your content. Most blogs, such as WordPress, already have RSS feeds integrated for entries and comments which is sufficiently enough unless you want to know how many people read your feeds.</p>

<p>For this you can use the FeedBurner service with which you can track your reader statistics. I recommend signing up for the service and letting them burn your feed. After the signup, find the "Publicize" tab and activate the FeedCount service.</p>

<p>FeedCount lets you post a little icon on your blog that displays the current circulation of your feed as well as make it easier for people to subscribe to your feed.</p>

<p>3. Sumbit your address to blog search sites and directories.</p>

<p>People look for blog content at Technorati every day, are you on their list? You should be. Submit your blog's url to Technorati, Daypop, Blogdex, Popdex, and any other site of that ilk you come across.</p>

<p><br />
4. Be an active commenter.</p>

<p>This is in the same vein as linking. Most comment systems also provide a way for you to leave a link back to your blog which begs a visit at the very least. So if you feel inspired, leave a comment or two in your blog travels. It behooves you.<br />
 <br />
5. Have a contest</p>

<p>Or, have regular contests, which encourage participation and buzz in your corner of the blogosphere.</p>

<p>6. Work your long tail</p>

<p>A tip based on your SEO efforts; there is a free service called Hit Tail that will analyze the search terms leading to your blog traffic, and yank out high quality key words you should be focusing on that you might not immediately think of. This can help you focus your future posts as you are already getting traffic for those key words.</p>

<p>7. Join a blog carnival</p>

<p>Where every blogger who joins one blogs about a topic, then each blog gets promoted. Here's an index of blog carnivals to get you started.</p>

<p>8. Join blog network</p>

<p>Between 9rules, b5media, and others, there is networking potential, income potential, and a link-a-palooza waiting for you (through the linkroll as every member may have to link to every other member) if you're able to get into one. Goes back to tip #1 -- don't forget to keep up your blog.</p>

<p><br />
9. Build an Interactive Blog</p>

<p> <br />
One way to get readers coming back to your blog many times over a day is to have a blog that people want to interact with. I know some ProBlogger readers visit this site at least 10 times per day just so that they can engage in the conversation that happens in comments. Since I added the 'subscribe to comments' feature on this blog I've noticed some readers coming even more than normal - this can only be increasing page view levels as people return throughout the day.<br />
 <br />
10. Use Photos</p>

<p>Face it, most people do search blogs to see something interesting and what best but a photo to give them a 24million color view of something. Yes photos rock, and they do bring in traffic. It kinda gives a coolness to your site. Its like wearing colors while everyone else is in uniform. Most blogging providers support photoblogging, but if you need a place to host photos photobucket.com is a place as good as any.</p>

        <![CDATA[<p>Apache Releases</p>

<p>On this post we will see how to do an apache release.</p>

<p>For those who are not aware of what an apache release is, basically it allows us to up load our style sheets and html to the url, whatever it may be.</p>

<p>No site can go live unless this is done.</p>

<p>You will need to have high-level permission for this.</p>

<p>For this you need to log into MT and make sure you are on the blog you want the apache for.<br />
</p>]]>
<![CDATA[<p>Once there hover over the "Preferences" and select "Blog Settings" from the drop down menu</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="apache_image1.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/apache_image1.jpg" width="505" height="228" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>On this page you need to click the "Publishing" link on the side menu.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="apache_image2.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/apache_image2.jpg" width="505" height="252" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>This will take you to a page with the Site URL and the Site Root. </p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="apache_image3.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/apache_image3.jpg" width="505" height="237" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>You need to copy both of these and paste them onto a text edit such as Notepad or TextEdit for later. In order to copy them you must click on the icon of a padlock, this will allow you to select and copy the information.</p>

<p>DO NOT ALTER ANY OF THE INFORMATION IN THESE SECTION OR YOU COULD STOP YOUR SITE FROM WORKING</p>

<p>You also need to get the ID for this blog. To do this you need to hover any of the menus and at the bottom of the page you will see a long like. This end part is the ID, for this case 215</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="apache_image4.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/apache_image4.jpg" width="505" height="603" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>You need to make a note of this, as you will need this for the apache</p>

<p>Now we need to do log on to the HEAT self service system.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="apache_image5.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/apache_image5.jpg" width="505" height="303" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>Here you need to click on the "New Issue" from the side menu.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="apache_image6.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/apache_image6.jpg" width="505" height="453" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>On this page you need to add the following information</p>

<p>FAO Digital Inbox</p>

<p>Apache Release for</p>

<p>Name: <strong>Blog Assistance</strong><br />
ID=<strong>111</strong></p>

<p>The first text box is where you place your question. You can add or delete the questions by hitting the + or - next to answers or hitting the Add a new answers. You can also rearrange the questions using the up or down button</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="poll_image3.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/css/poll_image3.jpg" width="505" height="471" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>Select the Language on the drop down menu underneath the answers</p>

&lt;/div&gt;</p>

<p>Before the &lt;/h3&gt; and after the &lt;h3 class="widget -header"&gt;, put the name of your Poll i.e. Best superhero</p>

<p>After the &lt;div class="widget-content"&gt; paste the information from Poll Daddy. </p>

div.pds-question-top { text-align: left; }<br />
div.pds-answer input.pds-radiobutton { margin: 4px 5px 0 0;}<br />
div.pds-answer label { padding-bottom: 40px; }<br />
div.pds-votebutton-outer { margin: 10px 0 0 0;}</p>

<p>Now click the save button and publish the site.</p>

<![CDATA[<p>In this post we're going to look at altering the links on the blog roll.</p>

<p>It is often the case that these areas need to be updated and altered as the site gets filled with posts. This is quiet a simple thing to do.</p>

<p>First , as usual, log into MT4 and select the blog that you want to alter. There are several ways to get to the widget which you want to change, we will take the simple route to avoid any confusion.</p>

<p>First got to design, then select widget sets from the drop down menu.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="roll_image1.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/css/roll_image1.jpg" width="505" height="304" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>]]>
<![CDATA[<p>This will take you to a list of widget sets, in the Right Sidebar you will see a list with the 'blogroll' in it. Click on the Right Sidebar. This will bring you to a page with a list with the widgets contained in the Right Sidebar.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="roll_image2.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/css/roll_image2.jpg" width="505" height="244" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>Here you need to click on the 'edit' next to the word 'blogroll'.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="roll_image3.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/css/roll_image3.jpg" width="505" height="369" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>This page should open in another window.</p>

<p>This is where you edit the blog roll.</p>

<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image"><img alt="roll_image4.jpg" src="http://blogadmin.icnetwork.co.uk/blogassistance/css/roll_image4.jpg" width="505" height="333" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"/></span></p>

<p>Lets say you want to add a link to the bbc homepage. This is the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/</p>

<p>In order to add this link we need to either edit an existing one or add another link.</p>

<p>We only need to focus on this area of the code. DO NOT EDIT ANY OTHER SECTION.</p>

<p>&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.problogger.net/" title="Problogger"&gt;Problogger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/" title="Tips for new Bloggers"&gt;Tips for new Bloggers&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />

&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://bloggst.com/" title="Blog Forum"&gt;Blog Forum&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;</p>

<p>First we'll edit an existing link</p>

<p>&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.problogger.net/" title="Problogger"&gt;Problogger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/" title="Tips for new Bloggers"&gt;Tips for new Bloggers&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/" title="Movable Type Documentation"&gt;Movable Type Documentation&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="<strong>http://bloggst.com/</strong>" title="<strong>Blog Forum</strong>"&gt;<strong>Blog Forum</strong>&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;</p>

<p>The areas in bold are the areas which you need to edit. The area in the 'a href' is the link, the area's in 'title' and outside are the name of the link.</p>

<p>Now lets add the bbc link. The code should look like this</p>

<p>&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.problogger.net/" title="Problogger"&gt;Problogger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/" title="Tips for new Bloggers"&gt;Tips for new Bloggers&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/" title="Movable Type Documentation"&gt;Movable Type Documentation&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="<strong>http://www.bbc.co.uk/</strong><br />
title="<strong>BBC</strong>"&gt;<strong>BBC</strong>&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;</p>

<p>Save and publish the site and it will appear on your blog.</p>

<p>If you wish to add another link you need to copy and paste some code.</p>

<p>Each link is in its own section. As you can see each section starts with a &lt;li and ends with a &lt;li&gt; You need to copy this areas (including the &lt;li and &lt;/li&gt;) Here's an example;</p>

<p><strong>&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.problogger.net/" title="Problogger"&gt;Problogger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;</strong></p>

<p>Then paste this under the last link as in the example below</p>

<p>&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.problogger.net/" title="Problogger"&gt;Problogger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/" title="Tips for new Bloggers"&gt;Tips for new Bloggers&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/" title="Movable Type Documentation"&gt;Movable Type Documentation&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://bloggst.com/" title="Blog Forum"&gt;Blog Forum&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
<strong>&lt;li class="widget-list-item"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.problogger.net/" title="Problogger"&gt;Problogger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;</strong></p>

<p>Once done you can edit the details as you did before.</p>

<p>Save and publish the site and it will appear on your blog.</p>

<p>If you wish to delete a blog just remove this the code.<br />

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt; <strong>Melody</strong> &lt;/strong&gt; - <strong>Giving you advice on blogging</strong><br />
&lt;br/&gt;<br />
&lt;a href="&lt;$MTBlogURL$&gt;<strong>melody</strong>/"&gt;My postings&lt;/a&gt; |<br />
&lt;a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/blog/<strong>melody</strong>"&gt;&lt;img src="&lt;mt:StaticWebPath/&gt;/images/status_icons/feed.gif" alt="<strong>Melody</strong>'s RSS feed" /&gt; My feed&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;<br />
&lt;/div&gt;</p>

<p>The areas marked in bold are the areas you need to change. The area in green is for feedburner (please see, "Making an author feed" or more details), so we'll leave that alone.</p>

<p>Here is an example of what to change. Lets say our authors name was John Smith and he is a Sunday paper journalist.</p>

<p>This is what the changes will be</p>

<p>&lt;div class="clearfix"&gt;<br />
&lt;a href="http://ventures1.tm-gnet.com/mtcs4-static/html/<$MTBlogURL$><br />

&lt;p>&lt;strong&gt; <strong>John Smith</strong>&lt;/strong&gt; - <strong>Sunday Paper Journalist</strong><br />

&lt;a href="http://ventures1.tm-gnet.com/mtcs4-static/html/<$MTBlogURL$><strong>john_smith</strong>/"&gt;My postings&lt;/a&gt; |<br />

&lt;/div&gt;</p>

<p>If you wish to add more then one author simply copy this section and paste it directly under the existing section, then change the details as we have in the example above.</p>

<p>You can also remove this section if you only have one author.</p>
