HULU KLANG - Seorang pelakon terkenal bersama dua rakan serumahnya ditahan oleh Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) setelah didapati bersekedudukan dengan dua wanita di tingkat 13 sebuah kondominium di Bukit Antarabangsa di sini semalam.

Pelakon berusia 30-an bersama dua lelaki dan dua wanita itu ditahan selepas didapati dalam keadaan mencurigakan serta tidak mempunyai sebarang ikatan muhrim.

Menurut sumber, tiga anggota penguat kuasa JAIS dan tiga anggota polis telah menyerbu rumah berkenaan pada pukul 6.45 pagi selepas menerima aduan daripada orang awam.

"Serbuan dilakukan setelah polis menerima maklumat terdapat beberapa individu dalam rumah melakukan perkara tidak bermoral dan mencurigakan," katanya di sini semalam.

Operasi cari bahan bukti pembunuhan Sosilawati diteruskan

BANTING: Pasukan penyelam Polis Marin hari ini meneruskan operasi mencari bahan-bahan bukti untuk siasatan kes pembunuhan jutawan kosmetik, Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya dan tiga lelaki lain di Sungai Kanchong Laut di sini.

Sungai itu terletak di Kampung Endah, kira-kira dua kilometer dari Ladang Gadong Tanjung Sepat di mana Sosilawati dan tiga lagi dipercayai dibunuh dan dibakar di ladang ternakan ayam di situ.

Operasi mencari bahan bukti itu bermula kira-kira 4.30 petang tadi dan berakhir pada jam 7 malam ini. Anggota Unit Forensik Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) turut menyertai operasi itu.

Seorang suspek lelaki dilihat dibawa ke atas jambatan sungai itu bagi menunjukkan di mana dia mencampakkan sesuatu dari atas jambatan berkenaan.

Semasa operasi itu dijalankan, kelihatan beberapa anggota Unit Forensik sedang membelek satu bungkusan plastik yang berisi seutas jam tangan.

Sosilawati, 47, bersama tiga individu iaitu pemandu peribadinya, Kamaruddin Shansuddin, 44; pegawai bank CIMB cawangan Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Noorhisham Mohammad, 38; dan peguam peribadi, Ahmad Kamil Abd Karim, 32, dilaporkan hilang sejak 30 Ogos lalu selepas dikatakan ke Banting, Selangor untuk urusan pembelian tanah.

Semalam, polis mengesahkan kempat-empat mangsa dipukul sampai mati sebelum dibakar dan abu dibuang ke dalam sungai berdekatan Ladang Gadong.

5 dead as tornadoes rip through Southern Plains

Tornadoes ripped through the Southern Plains on Monday as storms that killed five people and injured dozens more blew cars off highways, toppled homes and sent baseball-size hail crashing through windshields.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokesman Jerry Lojka said two people were killed in Oklahoma City and three were killed in Cleveland County, south of the city. Oklahoma City officials said the fatalities there involved a young boy who was hit by debris in his home and a man whose recreational vehicle flipped over on top of him. Details on the Cleveland County deaths weren't immediately available.

Officials reported that at least 58 others were injured — two of them critically — in the daylong onslaught. In some neighborhoods in Oklahoma City, emergency workers were going door to door to make sure everyone was accounted for.

The storms were part of a violent weather system that also spawned twisters in Kansas and that forecasters had been predicting since last week.

"You could just hear stuff hitting the house," Linda Sugg said, who rode out the storm in her home in Norman, the largest city in Cleveland County with about 106,000 residents. After the weather cleared, she walked through her litter-filled front yard, picking up debris.
Power was out to more than 37,000 homes and businesses statewide.

Many Oklahoma residents had been prepared for the bad weather. TV broadcasters dedicated their entire day to storm coverage, with some showing live video of the twisters as they rolled across the countryside.

"The kids and I got in the closet and prayed," said Jamie Keyes, of Norman, about 20 miles south of Oklahoma City. "I heard a hiss. It was like something was whistling very loud," she said. "We're all very fortunate."

Near Seminole, about 60 miles east of Oklahoma City, at least two homes were leveled after a tornado went through, Emergency Management Director Ernie Willis said. Emergency responders were going through the area to determine if anyone was hurt or trapped, he said.
Widespread destruction led authorities to close Interstate 40, a major east-west route, just east of Oklahoma City. Traffic was backed up for miles.

A Love's truck stop took a direct hit.

"Miracle of all miracles, we don't have any injuries from that location," Love's spokeswoman Christina Dukeman said. "We will rebuild and reopen."

Interstate 35, which runs from Mexico to Minnesota, also was closed briefly at the Kansas-Oklahoma border because overturned tractor-trailers blocked all lanes. At Moore, near Oklahoma City, trucks were overturned in the median but the road remained open.

In Kansas, the most serious damage was reported in Belmont. Several homes were damaged in the town east of Topeka and widespread power outages were reported. No injuries were reported.

Oklahoma City and its suburbs saw three storms develop just to the west and each caused damage as they moved across an area home to 1.2 million people.

The northern storm caused property damage near Edmond; two storms to the south turned into killers.

"We've had a very strange event: multiple tornadic portions with this event as it came through," said David Barnes, the emergency management director for Oklahoma County. "We have multiple vehicles overturned, a housing addition has had multiple homes destroyed."
Tornado warnings in the Plains and Midwest had all expired by 11:15 p.m. CDT.

In Alfalfa County, Sheriff Charlie Tucker said hail as big as baseballs broke the windshields of numerous cars and damaged some homes.

"I came home once to look at my own personal vehicle and the windshield was all bashed out. The grandchildren's swing set was up and now it's gone, so there was straight-line winds that came through," Tucker said.

The Storm Prediction Center at Norman had predicted the outbreak, saying the atmosphere had the right mix of winds, heat and moisture. One twister touched down just east of the center's building on the University of Oklahoma campus.

Malaysian lawmaker in trouble over polygamy

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – A ruling party lawmaker and his second wife pleaded guilty Tuesday to entering into a polygamous marriage without official consent amid a debate in Malaysia over Islamic morality among politicians.

Lawmaker Bung Mokhtar Radin and actress Zizie Ezette A. Samad pleaded guilty in a lower Islamic Shariah court in central Selangor state to getting married without the consent of a registrar, said a court official, who declined to be named due to protocol.

Polygamy _ although not widely practiced _ is legal among Malaysia's 28 million Muslims, provided marriages are registered in an Islamic court.

Bung, 50, and Zizie, who is in her early 30s, married in December last year _ confirming monthlong speculation in the local press of their liaison. Zizie has been quoted by The Star as praising Bung's first wife as a "very good" woman.

Each faces a possible 1,000-ringgit ($300) fine and jail sentence of up to six months. Sentencing has been set for May 18. Five friends and relatives pleaded guilty to abetting Bung. It was not immediately clear what penalties they could face.

Muslim men can marry up to four wives under the country's Islamic law, which governs civil matters for Muslims. Non-Muslims, who account for about a third of Malaysia's population, are not subject to Islamic law.

Morality among public officials recently became a hot topic in Malaysia after an opposition candidate for Parliament acknowledged consuming alcohol in the past. Muslims in Malaysia are banned from drinking alcohol. They can face fines, jail terms and caning if found guilty of the offense.

Zaid Ibrahim, who is running for Parliament in a special election on Sunday, made the admission last weekend. He said he has repented but added that ruling party coalition members were guilty of doing the same thing.

Larry King seeks 8th divorce

Los Angeles, California -- CNN talk show host Larry King and his wife, Shawn King, each filed for divorce Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Both cited "irreconcilable differences" in their filings, but they disagreed over custody of the two children from the 12 years of marriage.

He wants to share legal and physical custody of the boys with her, but she is asking the court to grant physical custody to her alone.

The Kings have two sons, ages 9 and 11.

"His major concern is for the children and beyond that he will have no further comment," Larry King's publicist said in a written statement.

Shawn King's lawyer did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment.
The documents said the couple separated on Tuesday, the same day Shawn King signed her papers. Larry King's signature was dated Wednesday. Both petitions were filed Wednesday.

Each is asking that they not be ordered to pay spousal support to the other, and they both want the other to pay their attorney fees.

While his filing offers little detail about what marital property he will claim, her petition lists the Beverly Hills, California, home where the couple has resided for the past two years and two Utah houses.

Larry King asked the court to declare any "purported transmutation agreement" to be "null, void and unenforceable." California law provides for marital contracts, known as transmutation agreements, to designate ownership of certain property between spouses.

When Larry King, 76, married Shawn Engemann Southwick, 50, on September 5, 1997, it was his eighth marriage to seven women.

King has hosted a nightly prime time talk show on CNN since June 1985. He hosted a late night national radio talk show before joining CNN.

Boleh dikatakan setiap kali program Radio Kampung Ku yang disiarkan dalam bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Inggeris di seluruh Kanada, lagu P. Ramlee menjadi permintaan ramai komuniti Melayu di negara tersebut.

Radio Kampung Ku disiarkan seminggu sekali di Toronto pada setiap hari Ahad (6.00 hingga 8.00 pagi), Vancouver (7.00 hingga 8.00 pagi) dan Calgary (8.00 hingga 9.00 pagi).

Windows 7 Market Share On The Rise

Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT)'s Windows 7 operating system is growing quickly in popularity, according to a market watcher.

Though it's been available to consumers for just over a week, the software's share of the operating system market has jumped from 1.89% on Oct. 22nd, the day of its release, to 3.67% as of Tuesday, according to data from Net Applications.

All versions of Windows, including XP, Vista, and Windows 7, continue to dominate the computer operating system market, with a total share of 92.5%. Apple's Mac OS is a distant second, with a 5.3% stake. The open source Linux OS is third most popular, with a market share of about 1%.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer formally introduced Windows 7 last month at an industry event in New York City. Ballmer said Windows 7 is simple to use, responsive, and unobtrusively secure—all things Vista was not. The OS "makes everyday use of a PC better," said Ballmer.

Microsoft worked with 3,000 engineers and 50,000 tech industry partners to build Windows 7, a product the company hopes will eventually make its way to 8 million customers.

Computer users knocked Windows Vista for its intrusive security features, heavy horsepower requirements, and incompatibility with many older software programs. To boost compatibility in Windows 7, Microsoft added to some versions an "XP mode" that emulates Vista's predecessor, which is still used by most businesses.

Windows 7 also provides native support for new input modes, such as touch-screen computing.

The full version of Windows 7 Professional is $299, with upgrades going for $199. Windows 7 Ultimate is priced at $319, with the upgrade version at $219. The full version of Windows 7 Home Premium is priced at $199, with an upgrade from Vista or XP costing $119.

NASA Tests Stage of New Rocket

With ferocious flames and smoke in the barren Utah hills north of Salt Lake City, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration on Thursday successfully test fired the first stage of a new rocket that might soon be canceled.

The firing was the first demonstration of a major component of the Ares I rocket that NASA has been developing for the past four years to replace the space shuttles, which are scheduled to be retired next year.

The first effort at the test firing, on Aug. 30, was halted with 20 seconds left in the countdown because of a glitch with a power unit that steers the nozzle.

On Thursday, the countdown proceeded smoothly, and the motor, the largest and most powerful in the world, ignited at 1 p.m., Mountain time. Securely fixed in a horizontal position, the motor did not go anywhere, shooting its 4,500-degree exhaust at a speed three times that of sound into a pile of sand and turning it to glass.

Just over two minutes later, after reaching a maximum thrust of 3.6 million pounds, the motor exhausted the fuel and fell quiet.

The motor is essentially a stretched version of the solid rocket boosters used by the shuttles, and NASA chose the design in 2005 claiming that the simplicity of the design — a single solid fuel motor in the first stage without the complicated plumbing of liquid fuel engines — would make the Ares I safer than any other rocket for astronauts. The reusable casings of the motor tested Thursday were in fact used on shuttle launchings; one flew on the first shuttle flight, in 1981.

Although the test went smoothly — engineers will now spend weeks analyzing the data gathered — it may mark the beginning of the end for Ares I. A blue-ribbon panel reviewing the human spaceflight program included the Ares I in only one of the options it is presenting to the Obama administration. The same rocket motor could be used for the planned larger Ares V rocket, but that option is also in flux.

Fast food giant loses in McDonald's vs McCurry tiff

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, Sept 8 - Fast food giant McDonald's on Tuesday lost an eight-year trademark battle against a Malaysian curry restaurant after the country's highest court allowed the latter to use the prefix 'Mc'.

Malaysia's Federal Court dismissed an application by McDonald's Corporation to appeal against an earlier Appeals Court judgment which allowed McCurry to use the prefix.

Chief Judge of Malaya Ariffin Zakaria, reading the verdict of the three-person Federal Court in the administrative capital, said McDonald's had failed to properly frame its questions when applying to challenge the Appeals Court's earlier verdict.

"It is unfortunate that we have to dismiss the application with costs," Ariffin said.

McCurry, which is short for "Malaysian Chicken Curry", serves Malaysian staples including fish head curry, according to the company website .

"We feel great that this eight-year legal battle is finally over, and we can now go ahead with whatever we plan to do such as opening new branches," McCurry owner P. Suppiah told Reuters after the court decision.

McDonald's, which has 185 outlets in Malaysia, first sued the curry restaurant in 2001 and a High Court ruled in favour of the international fast food chain in 2006.

McCurry then took the matter up to the Court of Appeal, which ruled in favour of the Malaysian restaurant. McDonald's subsequently took the matter to the Federal Court.

The McDonald's operation in this country of 27 million people is run as a franchise by prominent businessman Vincent Tan.

Porsche pips plane

In the end, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia driver did better than that. He sped past a Boeing 747 in a speed dash down a runway at Changi Airport (right). His Porsche 911 GT3 Carrera Cup race car covered the 1.7km distance in 19.8 seconds, edging out the plane by 0.4 seconds.

The race car's top speed is 280kmh while the aircraft can reach 900kmh in the air.

Saturday's race, the first between a jet and a car in Asia, was viewed by more than 500 spectators.

It was organised by the Changi Airport Group to kick off its month-long Changi GP Festival.

Passengers and visitors to the airport can participate in race-related activities such as a pit-stop challenge and go-karting.

Submariners endure tough tests to man KD TAR

PORT KLANG: The tests undergone each week were very tough so as to challenge the mental and physical abilities but the crew of the submarine, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman (KD TAR), were determined in bringing home the country's first submarine.

Today, all of the 31 crew members of KD TAR were proud that they went through various challenges in their four years of training at the training centre of the Defence Conseil National (DCN) Dockyard in the port city of Brest in the northwest of France.

Chief Petty Officer Mohd Nazri Kasni, 36, said they were tested each week on theory and practicalities and also had hands-on training in handling a subramine at sea.

"This was to ensure that we were truly skilled and anyone who was not up to the mark was sent back. The French decided whether a sailor was qualified or not," he told Bernama here today.

Mohd Nazri, from Mersing and with 17 years of service in the Royal Malaysian Navy, said his personal success was due to the support of his family who continuously encouraged him.

All the crew were picked after they passed the submarine specialist course before they could be called "submariners".

Mohd Nazri, who is a helmsman, said when KD TAR was on its way from Jeddah to India the sailors faced a difficult time due to high waves.

He also had a chance to perform the 'umrah' in Mecca while KD TAR was at Jeddah, and also at Djibouti and Cochin.

For Lt.Cdr. Chan Ling Ket, 31, the training experience in France was very challenging mentally and physically.

Chan heads the mechanical division on the submarine and his duties were very important to ensure the efficient functioning of KD TAR's engines and systems when bringing her home from France over 54 days.

"It's not easy to handle the sub, its system is very new to us, especially that the Scorpene's technology from France and Spain is very sophisticated, but with the training provided we got to know how to handle her.

On her journey, KD TAR was submerged for 32 days, sailed on the surface for 10 days and the rest of the time was spent at ports.

NEW YORK — Thousands of Michael Jackson fans danced the rain away in a Brooklyn park on Saturday at a party hosted by filmmaker Spike Lee, marking what would have been the 51st birthday of the late pop star.

Crowds of partygoers streamed into Prospect Park late Saturday afternoon, many wearing fedoras, sporting white gloves and showing off other Jackson-esque outfits. DJs spun Jackson's hits one after the other as people danced and sang along. Dozens of hawkers wandered through the crowd with T-shirts, buttons, posters and homemade memorabilia.

"I was just like everyone else. I loved his talent," said Lee, who directed two music videos for Jackson in 1996. He also reminisced how Jackson had visited him in his home in Brooklyn to talk about their music video collaboration.

The day was also designated Michael "King of Pop" Jackson Memorial Day by Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz.

"We all know Michael Jackson had fans around the world, but we all know the best fans come from Brooklyn," Markowitz boasted to a roaring crowd that grew as heavy rain in the morning lightened to a drizzle by mid-afternoon.

Edna Robles of Brooklyn was on her feet all afternoon. In a red baseball cap and flip flops, she closed her eyes and swung her hips, pivoting in the grass and mud to the beats of Jackson's hit "Thriller."

"It could be thundering, I don't care," she said. "I watched him through the years and I think he's the best. I love him."

The event, originally planned as a block-party-style gathering for 2,000 in Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park, was moved to Prospect Park to accommodate a bigger crowd.

Peter Brodie and his wife, Corrine Rodriguez, brought their daughters, 3-month-old Astrid and 2 1/2-year-old Makeda, to the party. Rodriguez danced with Makeda to "Beat It" while Brodie swayed side to side as he held Astrid in his arms.

"I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. I was 9 years old and he opened up a whole new world of music and dancing to me," said Brodie, who said it was a shame that such a spirited celebration of Jackson's music came only after his death.

Aubrey Harris, a 45-year-old from New York, was clutching a stack of homemade portraits he made of Jackson.

"I'm spreading the memory of Michael Jackson," said Harris, who cut out Jackson's image from posters and created 19 collages decorated with paint and glitter. "I'm keeping it in the forefront of people's minds."

By mid-afternoon, he had already sold 10 portraits for $15 each.

Stefania Fernandez wins Miss Universe for Venezuela the second year running

In Venezuela, beauty pageants are big business. In the country's many beauty schools, vast sums of money are spent on training and transforming hopefuls with an almost military dedication.

On Sunday night, that effort paid off once again as Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe, assuming the title from her compatriot Dayana Mendoza to add to the country's record of the most international pageant wins in history.

The triumph of Ms Fernandez, who is 5ft 10in and aged 18, makes Venezuela the first country to win the title two years running and takes the beauty-obsessed Latin American nation to within touching distance of its next pageant goal — to take the record for the most Miss Universe victories from the United States, which is one title ahead with seven wins.

"What do we Venezuelans have?" said Ms Fernandez, from the western city of Merida, after her win. "That we are ourselves." But many would disagree with that interpretation of Venezuela's success? In beauty schools across the country, thousands of dollars are spent on remaking candidates, usually with help from one of the country's largest industries — plastic surgery.

Osmel Sousa, president of the Miss Venezuela organisation since 1981, says that the only immutable feature with which a prospective Miss Venezuela must contend is her height — "the rest you can modify".

Every January around 300 girls, scouted from fashion shows and beauty pageants, head for Mr Sousa's boot camp at Quinta Miss Venezuela, a salmon-pink villa in an upscale Caracas neighbourhood. There they are examined by Mr Sousa and his aides — Maria Kallay, a trainer; Moises Kaswan, a dental surgeon; and Peter Romer, a plastic surgeon — who select 60 to undergo a gruelling three to six-month programme to sculpt them to perfection.

Later, they will be whittled down to the final 28 who will fight for the Miss Venezuela title. "When I see something I immediately perceive the details which I don't like," said Mr Sousa. This could be anything from crooked teeth to excess weight or a less-than-pneumatic chest — luckily easy to fix in a country where breast implants can cost as little as £1,300 and are so ubiquitous one might wonder if they were mandated in one of President Hugo Chavez's many constitutional rewrites.

Miss Mendoza had the tip of her nose reshaped, implants and liposuction to remove fat from around her knees, according to the former Miss Venezuela surgeon, Daniel Slobodianik. While Miss Fernandez's surgeries have yet to be revealed, they will no doubt soon be dissected by a media obsessed with the secrets of these living Barbies.

Whereas in Europe and the US, pageants have come to be derided as a hangover from a more chauvinistic age, in Venezuela they retain a popularity rivalled only by the national passion for baseball. The Miss Venezuela contest, which selects the candidates to Miss Universe and other international competitions, is the nation's most-watched television show, beaming into millions of homes from a 15,000-seater sporting arena in Caracas.

Star-struck hopefuls see the contest not only as an affirmation of their beauty but as a springboard to a glittering on-screen career: Venevision, the channel that operates the competition, capitalises on the costs of training by funnelling candidates into prime spots in its telenovelas and chat shows.

The national fascination with the aesthetic sits uneasily with the socialist values propounded by Mr Chavez, who has denounced pageants as an oligarchic and imperialistic preoccupation and declined to meet with Ms Mendoza after her 2008 victory.

However Miss Fernandez said she hoped that he would receive her "because we are making history". But if the new Miss Universe hopes for good relations with her President, she would be advised to avoid emulating her predecessor, who provoked uproar after a visit to the US detention camp at Guantanamo Bay.

In the tradition of incisive political comment upheld by generations of beauty queens, Miss Mendoza lauded the facility as a "such a relaxing place, calm and beautiful". It was so much fun she "didn't want to leave", she said.

Microsoft, Nokia Take Aim at BlackBerry

Microsoft Corp. and Nokia Corp., once bitter rivals in the mobile market, formed an alliance to strengthen their positions at a time when other competitors have become far more troublesome.

The deal between the two companies will bring Microsoft's Office programs and other software to Nokia phones. It is aimed squarely at the professional market that Research In Motion Ltd. targets so successfully with its BlackBerry line of smart phones.

For Microsoft, the deal is an attempt to increase the appeal of Office -- a lucrative franchise that includes Word, Excel and other productivity programs -- to a business audience that is being courted by competing products from rivals that range from Google Inc. to Cisco Systems Inc. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

In a conference call, a Nokia executive was particularly blunt in saying the deal represents more of a threat to the BlackBerry maker than to Apple Inc., which is thriving among consumers with the iPhone.

"It's about creating a formidable challenger to RIM than anybody else," said Kai Oistama, Nokia's executive vice president for devices.

RIM, which is based in Waterloo, Canada, didn't respond to requests for comment.

Nokia remains the dominant supplier of smart phones, but its market share has been shrinking, falling to 45% of world-wide unit sales in the second quarter from 47.4% in the same period the prior year, according to Gartner Inc.

RIM, meanwhile, jumped to 18.7% of the market from 17.3% during the same periods, while Apple soared to 13.3% from 2.8%, Gartner estimates.

Part of Nokia's problem, analysts say, is that its devices, which rely mostly on the Symbian operating system, have lost technological ground to rivals.

"Nokia is suffering right now from having a really old user interface in Symbian," said Ken Dulaney, an analyst at Gartner, a market-research firm. "It's not that exciting."

While the Microsoft deal won't provide more eye-catching interfaces for Nokia phones, it could give users a better experience on the go as they try to stay connected to work, whether editing Word documents or viewing Excel spreadsheets.

Microsoft said next year it will offer a Nokia version of an existing product called Office Communicator Mobile that makes it easier for users to be reached through a single phone number, rather than requiring callers to hunt for them by dialing multiple numbers.

Stephen Elop, president of Microsoft's business division, said the two companies will work on other projects, such as conferencing software that will allow Nokia phone users to participate in teleconferences that use interactive slide presentations.

Gartner's Mr. Dulaney said Microsoft's strategy is to make it tougher for business users to switch to applications from rivals such as Google. "Microsoft's approach here is to put an anchor point in ground," he said.

Eight more swine flu deaths in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur (PTI): Malaysia on Sunday reported eight more swine flu deaths, bringing the country's death toll related to the virus attack to 26.

Malaysian Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai said the deaths reported between August 3 to 8, were confirmed to have resulted from influenza A (H1N1) following test results.

Mr. Liow said the latest eight deaths involved mainly people in the high risk group, though there was a 20-year-old college student who was found dead at her hostel about a week after getting outpatient treatment at a hospital.

The dead included a 24-year-old obese woman who died of pulmonary oedema after a bout of flu and fever, a 74-year-old man with a history of heart problem who died of pneumonia and pulmonary oedema, a 47-year-old with asthma and a 37-year-old obese male who died of broncho-pneumonia.

The Minister said as of today there were a total of 62 patients warded in hospitals with 13 in the intensive care units, while an additional five were waiting for test results.

The Health Minister also said that in Sabah State 402 confirmed cases had been detected, with seven patients still in hospital and one in ICU.

He said 35 schools had also been closed to date.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Premier Muhyiddin Yassin said the country's Education Ministry had contingency plans including adjusting the dates for public examinations if the Influenza A(H1N1) situation in schools could not be managed.
