I want the Studio in the Hip Echo Park District

After much careful consideration and searching through studio or small apartment listings in LA, I found an area that suits my tastes very well. The Echo Park District is within close proximity to arts buildings, coffee shops, restaurants and the park. These are all the things I admire in a community that I would enjoy. I can call the Los Angeles Movers as soon as I find out if the cute pink cottage pictured above is available.

You know what? This one story little cottage sure does ease my earthquake in Los Angeles since its only one level. If my husband agrees with my apartment choice he can call the number for the Movers Los Angeles who was recommended by some friends. A lot depends upon the decision we make regarding our project in Los Angeles whether we make a move for one year or just rent a studio for a few months at a time. We could be traveling among several states so that's a question that's still up in the air. I'm a little torn about the idea of living in such a big city in California or moving to a quaint cabin in the Rockies and traveling. I'll call the LA Movers to get an estimate so we can talk about the total cost. It's an exciting venture either way. Maybe we'll become LA suburbanites, you never know!

Frequent Bloggers who write professionally often struggle with producing blog topics. There are days for me that seem as if there is just nothing new under the sun to write about. Other times I see the same topics written and rehashed by hundreds of sites and I tell myself that I don't want to hang in with the crowd. Popular content for the day is not always the best topic to choose for your blog. I find that my mood reflects what interests me on any particular day so tap into that inner source and go for writing about your passions. Brainstorm and write whatever comes to mind. You'll be surprised how many topics will develop this way in a matter of minutes.

For those off days when the hot topic of the day doesn't suit you and your mood is off kilter so that nothing seems to resonate, I give you some tips to pull you out of the funk. Try these methods and see if it helps. I'd love to hear how your experience goes so drop a comment sometime to let me and my readers know how you develop your blog topics.

Search Engines: If you are inspired, type in some keywords about a subject and see how many links appear. If there are not too many articles written on your choice of the day, then come up with an angle, get passionate and write about it. If you have no idea what you are trying to find, then type the first set of words up to five maximum and see what comes up. Do this two or three times if necessary. You'll be amazed how quickly this will spark ideas for your blog.

Twitter: The effervescent Twitter is always a sure thing for me. I just type in the search bar "trending topics today" and let the streams of ideas fly before my eyes. I have trouble choosing so some times I use this method to create blog topic titles for multiple posts on multiple blogs. Then I go back later to brainstorm the articles that match the title. It's a fun sort of mad hatter way to write but it gets very creative and helps me to step out of my comfort zone.

Facebook: Every blogger who is a serious professional freelance writer needs a facebook account. There are two writing tools that I consider essential: Twitter and facebook. I mean, isn't every one using both these social mediums to communicate to the world? This will get you noticed. Now how to find topics using facebook...scan your friends to see what they are chatting about. Select a common topic and create a blog post about it. Perhaps your friends are posting thoughts and questions back and forth. You can expound on the topic by relating thoughts in depth and by answering a list of questions on the same topic. Then send a message to your friends on facebook with a heads up about your post. Don't forget to tweet it, too!

Austin is a big city but it is one of my favorite stops when I visit Texas. It's hard to find a dentist in such a big city unless you're familiar with the city or you have friends who can make a recommendation. IZEA has a new blogging site that features guest reviews. I just signed up the other day so I'm still waiting for an assignment. Since I haven't written any posts yet, I am unfamiliar with all the site nuances. I love IZEA so I'll be enjoying my blogging even more with their four programs.

Sponzai reminds me of the wisdom of Buddha. The logo is a pudgy little Buddha man but I can't remember the name very easily. So I relate it to Bonzai as in the tree then I think of "sponsored posts" for the "sp" sound. Never mind me...it's a memory game.

The world is filled with glamor every where I look. Eye wear has become a fashion statement for cross generations but I just can't seem to get free from my seventies generation style. A friend gave me some good advice. She suggested that I pick my seasonal wardrobe first, then go shopping for eye glasses. I'll be picking out reading glasses and a couple pairs of sunglasses. I have a strong sensitivity to light so the shaded lenses that adapt to different degrees of light are vital to my vision. Stimulate your Brain with Fun Games

I'm not much of a gamer because frankly, I'm just too busy writing. Lately though, my mother-in-law has inspired me to try some internet games. I started with Solitaire though its a bit weird playing cards without holding the deck and hearing that snap of the shuffle. Since I'm getting used to cyber games versus reality games, I thought I would expand my horizons by trying some new games. I just want to understand this modern world a little better where everyone plays games on their ipods while waiting for the bus, train or plane or while standing in the grocery store checkout line.

My grandchildren helped me realize that I know very little about gaming because when they tell me about their favorite ones, I put on that blank expression that says loudly; " Nanna has no idea what I'm talking about!" And I know the look that says "I wish my Nanna would get hip and learn more about internet games so we could play together".

So this is my new quest. Maybe I'll be able to write more game reviews after an extensive education. I'm taking a tour of the funbrain arcade where there are all kinds of options to play. This game quest is going to be so exciting! Move over Solitaire and Mahjong Titans, I'm getting my game on with exciting action games. I might create an Avatar and dress up as a cyborg that's an interplanetary traveler. Who knows? The Zombie Avenger might give me the chase but I'm up for the experience. I don't think the score will matter much, as long as I have fun with the fantasy and adventure. See you in game world.

It Takes some Financial Savvy to Operate a Freelance Business

Little did I know how much book keeping would be involved when I started my freelance writing/blogging business a couple years ago. I'm very adept at keeping books and calculating money but becoming a business administrator opened my eyes to the financial world at large. I have written many reviews for Clients about money matters so it is a learning experience for me that I did not expect. Because of the high demand for content reviews on financial matters, I began to think a lot about my current circumstance. When I started my new business, I really did it on one shoestring. I didn't even own a pair.

The idea of obtaining bad credit personal loans to launch my blog network faster was far fetched. I did not have any credit and I owned absolutely zero collateral. My husband and I were living out of our van traveling the United States making money as we traveled with odd job opportunities and my sparse freelance writing pay. I knew that I would need to build a blog empire in order for it to be financially prosperous but I had no idea how to launch it faster without any capital. I've written many reviews for clients who offer services to people like me who have bad and/or no credit but I still hesitated in taking that step.

Two years later, I am still inching my way along earning a little more each month. I'm making progress in leaps and bounds with my blog network but its a slow process. The Undefined Tab is Finally Gone from my Blog

So did you notice the tacky square box on each post with the double words "undefined" are now gone from my site? I spent two months trying to figure out how to program my blog themes to make the date and time appear so that unsightly box would no longer marr my blog's beauty. I feel embarrassed. I asked so many "techie" people how to program the date box and no one had answers for me. I read the theme's html until I turned blue.

It occurred to me that the task was probably extremely simple if I only I knew the procedure. No one could help me and I couldn't fix the problem! I was on the brink of removing all my new themes with the "undefined" box. Then I found a random post about this very issue and in minutes of changing a few listings in the "settings" part of my blogspot blogs, the dates appeared and "undefined" was only a memory. I feel really inadequate and silly. It was so simple.

Would you like to know how to set up the tab for date and time on your blog? If you have a new theme, you will need to know this or else you'll be staring at the "undefined" tab like I did for almost three months!

Go to the dashboard of your blog at Blogspot. Click on the "Settings" tab. Choose the second link down for Date and Time. Select "Day, Date, Month and Year" format. It will automatically program every post that you publish once this selection is made. Whew! I can't believe how this problem plagued me and you have no idea how relieved I am to have solved the problem. I learned a valuable step in updating blog themes so I hope this post helps you avoid the pitfall of ignorance that I fell in for so long.

Programming my new Theme has been a Challenge

Did you notice the "undefined" tabs at the top of each one of my posts? I installed a new theme almost three months ago but I have yet to figure out how to change that "undefined" status so the date and time of posts will show again. I've just been really busy these past few months which kept me from prioritizing my blog tasks so I could focus on those little things to do. Now that was originally part of my plan with this blog. I intended to use it for a focus site.

In my personal experience, I started with one Blogspot blog and a blog from Tumblr. Today, those blogs continue to grow as I write written reviews for private Clients and several companies. After I began setting up these two blogs, I felt the need to research blogging and how to make a living at this profession. My ultimate dream was to be a freelance writer with focus on creative and factual articles for magazines and news sites. I held a loftier long term goal to become a published novelist and short story writer with the dream to write script for movies. I wanted to touch hearts with my words and stories. But I knew this would take a longer time to achieve so I set out to earn enough to support my needs and to keep me writing. Blogging opened the door to a freelance writing journey and I have been walking that road for almost two years now.

Through my research, I quickly learned about the free sites that served as blogs, social forums and advertising outlets. I opened accounts with multiple sites such as Moli, Multiply, My Space, Bebo and many others. Methodology taught by Peter Drew, CEO of Mashable, drew me to his philosophies on blogging and writing using a method of multiplicity. I followed a suggested listing of forty sites and began sequentially setting up accounts, profiles, reciprocal links and designing layouts. Then I set about writing posts and launched a social networking campaign that enveloped many hours of work and tedious writing.

Today, I continue the pattern of multiplying my blog persona and have created dozens of blogs. After a year of researching blogging and blog companies, I learned that to improve my rank I needed to buy domains and hosted blogs. This gives you a better rank with search engines, the companies, and advertisers or private clients for whom you will write as a freelance Blogger. Currently, I continue to update and create blogs in my writing network. I’m still learning to fine tune the process. Many of my blogs need updated or redesigned. I felt a need to improve my blogs ranks somehow. I stepped into the realm of SEO in the last six months. That is a more complex task that requires study and effort.

Organizing Tasks for your Business

The process of organizing tasks and projects for your business can be a daunting undertaking.....unless you have a plan. I started this blog in hopes of researching business development planning strategies and maintenance strategies for my online blog business. Every day that I log onto the internet, I click on Blog Day Planner and think about ways to improve this process.

In Junior High School I took two year courses in Study Skills which taught me methods of organizing my ideas and how to focus. This training has stayed with me all my life. I constantly make notes and outlines, for everything! The only part of the training that was missing is the implementation. That's where I hope to improve by using this blog as a research tool and a follow through check point.
