No final de 2005, quando a primeira versão do veículo, o ARANHA, completava sua série de testes, o CTEx contatou a empresa paulista Columbus Comercial, Importadora e Exportadora LTDA, para criar uma versão melhorada deste veículo e tendo o contrato assinado em 15 de dezembro de 2005.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A Columbus, que já havia desenvolvido o Marruá, um jipe cujo projeto deriva do jipe Engesa EE-12, iniciou em 06 janeiro de 2006 a construir o novo protótipo dentro das dependências do AGSP, e em fevereiro optou-se por utilizar o conjunto Motor/Transmissão do Marruá.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Batizado como CHIVUNCK, começou seus testes de rolagem em 8 de setembro de 2006.
