Rollei announced three new cameras from its Compactline entry-level series: the Compactlime 202, 102 and 101 models. They feature 12, 10 and 10 megapixels of resolution respectively. All of them have a stylish finish in a choice of different colors.

The cameras are remarkable by their ease of use. So they are the ideal tool for amateurs and snapshot photographers who prefer to rely on pre-programmed shooting modes that provide correct default settings at the press of a button for almost any situation. There 28 scenes in the 202 and 102 models, and the 101, a budget digicam can offer only 16 scene modes.

All the camera feature 3x optical zoom and 3-inch LCD Display (except for the 101 – it houses 2.5-inch monitor).

The 102 is a slim camera only 19 mm thick and weight only 105 grams without battery and memory card. It is peculiar also by the fact that it can deliver full HD still images in 1920×1080 pixels mode.

For processing on the computer Zoner PhotoStudio 9 Express software is included with every Compactline model.

Olympus released the Olympus  PEN E-P2, the world’s smallest 12.3-megapixel Micro 4/3 type camera boasting In-body Image Stabilization, High Definition video and In-Camera Creativity. All this is housed in an ultra-portable retro black metal body.

Its features inckude fast Imager Autofocus with Face Detection, the Olympus Dust Reduction System and the new TruePic™ V Image Processor.

The improvements of the EP-2 over the EP1 include the full manual controls in a movie mode, the addition of subject tracking capability in continuous AF mode for both photos and movies, and an accessory port underneath the flash strobe. This port provides for an included shoe-mount electronic viewfinder and an external microphone jack adapter (optional) extra.
