History of Bliss Candy Company

Bliss Candy Company technically began in the fall of 2006, but owners Sammy and Cynthia Timpa declare that date to be not entirely accurate. Cynthia has many years of experience making the delicious toffee, using an old family recipe her mother passed down to her. It started as a family holiday tradition, and has since evolved into some of the best candy being made in Texas today.

As a young woman on a quest to perfect her toffee, Cynthia spent countless hours and money on batches of experimental toffee. Trial and error had a lot to do with finding the perfect recipe and honing it to the incredible treat it is today. Batches of too soft, not crunchy, too sticky, or burned toffee eventually turned into the fine-tuned recipe used today.

Every summer in the town of Round Top, TX, the Round Top Music Festival features some of the best young musical talent from all around the world as a part of the Round Top Musical Institute. Beginning in June, the concert series lasts six weeks with performances of enduring composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, and more. So, which are the performances not to miss? Come out for the opening performance of the Round Top Music Festival! Conductor Linus Lerner invites you to enjoy the sound of Beethoven, Saint-Saens, and Onslow in the debut of this year’s Round Top Music Festival.
