fighting depression

2011-09-05T19:26:00.000-07:00

wiki describe:

Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behaviour, feelings and physical well-being.^[1]Depressed people may feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, or restless. They may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, or problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions; and may contemplate or attempt suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains or digestive problems that are resistant to treatment may be present.^[2]

Depressed mood is a normal reaction to certain life events, a symptom of many medical conditions (e.g., Addison's disease, hypothyroidism), and a feature of certain psychiatric syndromes.

whooa, the last part can be pretty scary right?

hold it...hold it....

I know whether you're in AA or GA, the first step is admittance and if I were to play doctor to myself, my diagnosis or in laymans term the thing that I'm going through is just mood disorders or clinical depression PERIOD.

So how does this depression go by in our internal system?

Depression is associated with changes in substances in the brain that help nerve cells communicate (neurotransmitters), such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. The levels of these neurotransmitters can be influenced by, among other things, physical illnesses, genetics, hormonal changes, medications, aging, brain injuries, seasonal/light cycle changes, and social circumstances.^[5]

So many factors to pin point why a certain person is going through a certain depression right? And my best bet for my own depressing moments caters to work and relationships. But now I'm done running, hiding from it... I'll face this demon on my own!

Acceptance is the first step, and I just have to go the process and work through it so I can heal and be happy on my own again.

My choice of getting beating it is to make a gratitude journal and physical exercise.

the closest to happiness I have now

2011-09-05T11:41:00.000-07:00

my pursuit of happiness took a detour, I thought if I can be with 'someone special' I'd be happier but that is another story... (fyi been battling depression for weeks now so please bear with me I'm literally counting my blessings)

let me focus on one simple idea that by drinking a cold beverage like Coke where it can be as refreshing as it's poured on glass with ice that frizzy-sizzle with bubbles reaches your hands... and eventually quenching your thirst for something sweet foamy soda...
you (just) can't beat the feelin' ahhhhh
mismo
a few campaigns by Coke...
and now i have my own campaign,
that its time to open myself once more to HAPPINESS that there is.

Honesty is such a lonely word

2010-07-07T09:45:00.000-07:00

Everyone is so untrue...
Thanks Billy Joel

haha
Seriously,
Why did I think of that?
I know of a few people who do not want to hear the truth. Deliberately making our lives difficult by ignoring the signs and hoping it will go away, by keeping quiet, it will not change the truth.
Knowing the truth is better no matter how painful it might be because, at least, we can address it.
Experience is a great teacher indeed, we have to see for ourselves, we have to make our own mistakes, and we have to learn our lessons. We have to rob today’s possibility to finally understand for ourselves.

That knowing is better than wondering,

That sometimes you just have to forgive ourselves,

That it is better to love and lost than to never have love at all.

I don't want to be afraid anymore.

I don't want to live in what if... but what is and what now

to my "Samson" hear this...

You are my sweetest downfall

I loved you first, I loved you first

Beneath the sheets of paper lies my truth

I have to go, I have to go

Your hair was long when we first met

Samson went back to bed

Not much hair left on his head

He ate a slice of wonder bread and went right back to bed

And history books forgot about us and the bible didn't mention us

And the bible didn't mention us, not even once

You are my sweetest downfall

I loved you first, I loved you first

Beneath the stars came fallin' on our heads

But they're just old light, they're just old light

Your hair was long when we first met

Samson came to my bed

Told me that my hair was red

Told me I was beautiful and came into my bed

Oh I cut his hair myself one night

A pair of dull scissors in the yellow light

And he told me that I'd done alright

And kissed me 'til the mornin' light, the mornin' light

And he kissed me 'til the mornin' light

Samson went back to bed

Not much hair left on his head

Ate a slice of wonderbread and went right back to bed

Oh, we couldn't bring the columns down

Yeah we couldn't destroy a single one

And history books forgot about us

And the bible didn't mention us, not even once

You are my sweetest downfall

I loved you first

2009-08-28T23:44:00.000-07:00

okay
so everybody wants to be famous i think
everybody wants to be known
there are so many faculties which one can acquire so called celebrity status
for one
the so called reality shows
whether to a be an actor (artista)
or landed on a certain job
even lose weight
these shows tend to create massive amount of followers
because we all want to know who they are and what they can do to achieve popularity
and if luckily they have the IT factor
voila!
you're an instant celebrity

to be concluded, duty calls lolz

going back,
i was in dagupan for the nationwide launch of artista search.
prior to my 1am departure that sunday morning,
i noticed a few people already lining up outside the network
i thought it was for kapuso foundation or something
or even imbestigador
didn't realized that the starstruck fever is on
this reality show on its fifth installment
again,
there they are
people from all walks of life,
sticking into their guns
of they think, a chance of a lifetime
with that i bid good luck to all those hopeful
let me borrow a line from the show's theme,
dream
believe
survive
