Great Quote!

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Thu, 15 Oct 2009 19:59:00 +0000

I was photographing a bunch of kiddos this morning and the Director of the school had this quote hanging on her wall:

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you'll land among the stars." -Les Brown

I love this quote -- I might have to make some photo art using it!

I have a lot of shoots to show you but I've been so busy I just haven't had the time to post them, plus I'm working on something new which I'll introduce to you shortly :)

A few weeks ago I photographed the N family at their home. Crystal and Josh were wedding clients of mine several years ago and now they have a little one. We had a great time exploring their property and hanging out. Here are a few of my favorites:

The Holidays Are Approaching...

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Sun, 27 Sep 2009 20:57:00 +0000

...in fact they are right around the corner! If you are thinking you want family portraits or kids photos for your Christmas card it's best to schedule that session now before the weather turns, and before the stress of the Holidays take over. Procrastination = Unnecessary Stress :)

Email me at info@saralilphoto.com to book a session. I take a limited amount of sessions and I shoot on Tuesday, Thursdays and sometimes Sundays. I also offer Gift Certificates which are a great Holiday gift idea!

Newborn Photographs in Corvallis

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Tue, 22 Sep 2009 18:22:00 +0000

I am so far behind on my blogging! It's been a crazy busy summer which is great, but blogging has fallen to the bottom of my priority list. I'll catch up eventually :)

This little guy was only two weeks old when I photographed him.

I LOVE baby feet!!:

Chili Cook Off -- This Sunday

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Thu, 10 Sep 2009 15:16:00 +0000

The 2^nd Annual Benton County Sheriff’s Office Chili Cook Off is going to be held this Sunday, the 13^th at the Benton County Fairgrounds, 12- 4:00.

Admission is $5.00 per person (kids 6 and under are free) It’s going to be a fun time – the REACH helicopter will land, there will be fire engines, and the K9 dogs, the Army National Guard will have some vehicles there – and of course there will be LOT’s of chili (included in the cost of admission) – hot dogs, soda, and ice cream will also be available for purchase – all proceeds from food, admission, and raffles will go to Strengthening Rural Families.

My friend Libby McCormick (she is an excellent massage therapist if you are looking for one!) is on the committee and asked if I wanted to participate -- I donated a portrait session so if you are interested in one this would be a good place to go bid for it! It's family friendly and lots of fun! I hope to see you there!!

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Thu, 10 Sep 2009 02:15:00 +0000

Saturday's wedding was definitely the wettest wedding I've ever photographed -- it poured rain. Luckily Bryce and Ambir didn't stress about it and made the best of it! After all we do live in Oregon :)

Portland Lighting Workshop

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Sat, 05 Sep 2009 00:16:00 +0000

I love workshops! Workshops help me keep current, better myself, allow me to learn from the best in the industry and I make new friends :)

I consider myself a "natural light photographer" but recently I've decided that I would like to learn more about my flash and various lighting options. I attended a great workshop by Neil van Niekerk all about lighting. It was the best workshop I've gone to in years (and I've been to lots!). We played around with flash, studio lighting, and video lights. Here are some of the images I captured:

Ash + Shanan's Wedding at The Clubhouse at Adair Village in Corvallis

noreply@blogger.com (Sara Lil ) — Sat, 08 Aug 2009 00:17:00 +0000

Ash and Shanan got married at The Clubhouse at Adair Village on Saturday. Their wedding was a great event with lots of laughter, fun, and dancing. I love this couple! I could go on and on about them... the first time I met Shanan was at the bridal show in Albany and she walked right up to me and said she wanted me as her photographer. I immediately loved her kind presence and happy demeanor.

I then met Ash on their engagement shoot and I could see why they made such a good match! They are both so charismatic and loving -- the best man gave a great heart felt speech, he said " they are a good example to everyone -- they show us all how to enjoy life!" and it's so true! Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day. I feel like I've known you for lifetimes! Here are just some of my favorites:
