When you don’t have a clear picture of what you need and want this can be a time consuming process. What I suggest is you put some thinking into what you want your blog to look like and feel before you go “theme hunting”.

Below are some basic questions for you to ask yourself.

1. What exactly do you want your visitors to do? Sign up for your newsletter, download a free gift, buy an event ticket, give to charity or?

2. Find 3 websites you like write down what you like.

3. Find 3 websites you don’t like write down why not.

4. What is your budget?

Now that you have a clear picture of how you want your theme to look it will be much faster and easier to find what you are looking for.

Now it is your turn to get to work

I can definitely do the coding. But whenever I sell a custom WordPress theme I always start the conversation by apologizing that I’m really just not a graphic designer. I can make you a kick ass theme, under the hood, but I can’t do the wow factor curb appeal stuff.

I can’t make cool buttons and icons. My color selections make people scratch their heads and question my sanity.

Now, understand that for me this has never been a problem. I’ve always been sort of proud of my ugly little blogs. Kind of like they guy with the old beat up, primer gray and black Dodge Dart with an eight liter, nitrous fed, Hemi, a six speed transmission and a racing clutch. Might not be much to look at, but boy does it GO!

Still, I bet that guy would love to have all of that go power packed in a shiny red BMW or Ferarri frame, even better. Me too.

How about you? If you had to choose between pretty and functional, you’re going to choose functional, but your always going to wish you had pretty too, right? Yeah.

So. Here’s the really big news!

BlogStrokes Themes are going to take all that top flight coding power and pack it into hot shiney racing frames!

I went in to my favorite private hangout, a real alliance of internet marketing professionals, and asked if any members were graphic artist and would be interested in partnering with me to make BlogStrokes Themes really stand above the rest.

Intuition is intended to bring a lot of the premium features of some of the ‘magazine style’ themes to a non-magazine format theme. The magazine style WordPress theme is popular, but the simple fact is that for a direct response blogger, it isn’t the best layout option available.

Intuition Theme drops the format of these themes, but retains several of the advanced features like DHTML/CSS header navigation menus, breadcrumbs and an extremely flexible sidebar design.

In fact just by selecting which widget areas to add your widgets to, you can create dozens of different sidebar configurations.
