The Retro Game Cases for iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S III and S4 not only protect the phone, but also offers interactive play.

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced Gran Turismo 6, the latest version of PlayStation's best-selling franchise, will be released in the holiday season, 2013.

The news was revealed today by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi at an event held to celebrate 15 years of the top-selling series.

"GT6 for PlayStation 3 will bring new levels of authenticity to 'the Real Driving Simulator' as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface," a press statement read.

"A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content."

The game is also set for connectivity with devices such as smartphones and tablets for social and community functions.

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo 5 will be retained in GT6. But notable additions to the line-up of historic cars, road cars and the latest race cars, brings the total car list to 1200 at launch, with new cars set to be continually added online.

Several thousand aerodynamic parts and custom wheels will be available for almost all cars, and players can personalise their own custom cars in-game as well.

The UK's Silverstone Circuit will be one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them being new.

New tracks are also set to be made available online, while the course maker has also seen improvements.

The press statement confirmed that the GT Academy series, which sees Nissan and Sony team up to find real racing drivers, will be returning.

Other notable partnerships in the development of GT6 have been with tyre manufacturer Yokohama Rubber and suspension company KW Automotive.

"It is amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo," explained Kazunori Yamauchi, during the announcement at Silverstone Circuit.

"Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We're pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform.

Though it's long been considered one of BlackBerry's strongest exclusive offerings, Heins said that his company aims to deliver a "fully featured" BBM experience on rival smartphone operating systems. "We're starting with messaging and groups, but we'll bring voice, screen share, and of course, channels later on," he said.

"Why are we doing this now? It's a statement of confidence," Heins went on. He said that BlackBerry 10's prospects are "so strong that we are confident that BBM can become an independent messaging solution." In a press release, BlackBerry notes that BBM's successful move to iOS and Android depends upon the approval of Apple and Google. Assuming things go according to plan, BBM will face no shortage of competition from WhatsApp and other messaging apps that already enjoy enormous success across mobile platforms.

Nokia has revealed a budget phone with a 48 day standby time. The Asha 501 is aimed at people who cannot afford a smartphone, but want to upgrade.

Nokia has worked with developers such as Facebook and Twitter to make apps for the phone. It offers 17 hours of talk time, 56 hours of music playback and 48 days of standby time on 2G networks, the Finland based phone manufacturer says.

Nokia says it's aiming to make 'high-end design and quality accessible to more people' with the launch of its new Asha 501, 1200 mAh battery and accompanying software platform The Asha 501 will not support 3G or 4G data speeds, though the phone will comes equipped with the new Nokia Xpress Browser, according to Nokia. Xpress Browser compresses Internet data by ‘up to 90 per cent,’ the phone manufacturer says, which would make mobile browsing more accessible in emerging markets and offer all users cheaper data options.

LG and Huawei have committed to launching new smartphones running Mozilla’s Firefox OS platform, Sony announced it too wants a piece of the HTML5 pie, committing to launching a Firefox OS device in 2014.

The news comes as part of an announcement that Telefonica will offer Sony’s Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z in select markets around the world, but the two mobile companies will also pool resources “to explore the development of a handset” running Firefox OS.

After ditching its own mobile operating systems years ago, then Nokia’s Symbian platform while it was part of Sony Ericsson, Sony has doubled-down on Android. Despite continued calls for Sony to release a Windows Phone handset, it appears the company is more focused on growing its user base in emerging markets, by developing completely open and affordable devices with little or no restrictions on usage or apps.

Sony becomes the fifth company to commit to Firefox OS behind ZTE, Alcatel and the above-mentioned LG and Huawei.

Bob Ishida, Deputy CEO at Sony, says that the company’s engineers are working with Firefox OS and HTML5, along with operator partners, with the aim to release a device or devices sometime next year.

Google Inc. has developed the first touchscreen laptops powered by its Chrome operating system to be sold later this year, according to people familiar with the matter, as the Internet giant tries to go toe-to-toe with Microsoft Corp.'s Windows operating system.

HTC also make a new approach with camera technology by introducing Ultrapixel. Is this is the end of megapixel era? The Z250 will be the street version of its faired Ninja 250R and will be powered by the same motor as on the baby Ninja – a parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC 250cc unit with 8-valve and will be mated to a six-speed transmission. Kawasaki hasn’t revealed power figures yet but we assume it to be close to the 33.5PS developed by the 250R mill and torque figures to be hiked from the existing 22Nm.

Visually, the bike looks like a shrunken version of the Z-800, which works in favour of the bike. The sharp lines on the tank and at the rear give the bike an aggressive stance and the compact headlight adds more character to the overall design.

Apart from the engine, the z250 shares its frame, instrumentation console, front forks and rear suspension set-up with its faired sibling. In theme with the street bike design, the ergonomics of the bike have been altered for a more upright riding position.
