What better way to embrace summer lovin’ than with a floral mini? I hardly ever wear this skirt because it’s clearly not everyday workable, but every now and then pulling it out just makes me feel special. And really, who doesn’t want to feel special -even if just every now and then? I’m embracing away.

A light and flowy dress made business casual with a khaki blazer. It’s still fairly casual and summery, but for a day with no interviews or big meetings, it works perfectly!

Since I’ve started running, I’ve definitely noticed that I’ve been more hungry. Now, I know I should be filling up on fruits and veggies… but that’s just not as fun now is it?!?

Instead… this is what I seem to go for… Hello Bobby’s Burger Paradise! SO good and crunchified is a must.

It’s been an exhausting week, and it’s only Wednesday…! But for all the stress, there is so much good to be thankful for, so I keep smiling! Not to mention, these shoes keep me incredibly happy as well. I saw them ages ago, and just didn’t want to pay the retail price, but low and behold this weekend the price drop hit and I got them more than 50% off. Come to mama my pretty babies!

I knew I’d be running back and forth from building to building at work today, so I decided to bring along a pair of loafers as substitute for my heels during those walking portions of my day. Good thing I have a shoe for every occasion!

I decided to go with the springy floral silk blend Maggy London dress for the wedding this weekend. The event was beautiful as a rainy day changed to clear and sunny just in time for the outdoor ceremony. I did end up changing outfits before going out again for the downtown birthday bash, but it was worth it to feel dressed right for both events.

It was fitting that I chose this dress on Mother’s Day weekend as my mom was with me when I bought this dress. I am so blessed to have such an amazing woman in my life. Feeling unconditionally loved and accepted is something very hard to find, but something I have always had from her. Plus, she’s a fashionista too, so ya gotta love that! Love you mom!

Living in color – aqua! What can I say… color just makes me happy. Just this week I’ve heard two people say, “I hate the color pink!” – but not me… I don’t think there is a color out there that I dislike! I’m a multi color lover for sure.

You know summer has arrived when weddings start to fill the weekends. This weekend I have a wedding and a big downtown birthday bash to attend the same night, so I’m deciding what to wear and hoping to have a one dress for both option vs. a mid-night wardrobe change (not that I haven’t done that before!).

I’m leaning towards either one of the first two dresses, or just sucking it up and wearing one dress for the wedding and one for the birthday bash. What do you think?

My Target “Skirts Week!” wraps today with this fun little polka dot pencil skirt. This week has seriously flown by for me and I can’t believe it’s already almost weekend time. I adore all of these skirts and found them functional, feminine, and well made. The fit was overall true to size, though I did find the waistline slightly big.

Last pause before I go back to “skirts week”. This was my most recent weekend look, and I love this little dress because it’s bright and unique – plus it has pockets, so you can’t beat that!

While the dress is a great and easy weekend ensemble, I actually ended up looking slightly out of place at a big Harley Davidson shop… I went there because they were supposed to be holding a greyhound adoption event and I was interested in learning more, but turns out the event was canceled so it was just me walking around the Harley store in my cute little dress and heels. They told me I was still welcome to stay and hang out…! LOL

Ladylike

Target skirt week continues with skirt #3! I’ve been looking for a peplum blouse for a while and just haven’t found one that fits right, so this skirt was the perfect alternative! It’s so ladylike and also really comfortable. I feel like I could run a marathon in it!

Speaking of which, I just signed up for a 5K run. While a 5K is nothing to an actual runner, to me it’s worth a moment of panic! I do work to keep in shape and often jog or elliptical as a portion of my workout… but I am by no means a runner and have only done a 5K once before.

If I wasn’t so damn competitive it wouldn’t be that big a deal, but since this is a work event and will be team against team – of course my team must win and I must finish in the top times…! LOL I only have a little over a month to be ready. God help me..

Earlier this week I wore this skirt (Massimo) in a more casual way, so today I decided to spice things up just a bit and go for a slightly more dressed up version. I think it worked really well! While not a cocktail dress by any means, it was easy to fancy this skirt up with a pair of fun heels, a statement clutch, and a sheer blouse. Viola!

While I still have oodles of trouble finding well fitting pants, skirts more often than not seem to fit like a charm. This one definitely did! While it’s not a work-wear skirt for me, it is a super fun weekend and evening skirt that I’m sure will be getting much use!

Amidst all the wonderful fashion tips and styling trends I’ve seen over the years, I don’t think there is a better learning than to just be yourself and wear what you love.

As my years progress, I find myself personally more drawn to simpler looks. I still ADORE the crazy fun fashion looks as well, but often would rather admire them on others than have them for myself.

Today’s look embodies just that – a simple dress, but a great cut, feminine details, and statement color. I didn’t originally purchase this dress with the intent to wear for work, but I actually found it ideal for a more casual day in the office. Simply.. perfect!

Oh, the weather has been so lovely these last few days in Cincinnati. From 40 degrees, cloudy and overcast to 80 degrees, clear and sunny! Makes me feel alive.

As for the outfit, this cobalt dress was calling my name. Since it is a sleeveless dress, I topped it off with a classic blazer and a chunky necklace for added interest.

Grey on grey on grey today! That and I’m sticking with my orange theme (or at least… accent of orange!). Similar to my Wear It! look, this is another skirt brought out of hiding now that I can appropriately squeeze back into it. Thank goodness because I love this skirt! A little sexy in shape, but longer in length to make up for it.

I’m always a big color lover, but orange and aqua are two colors that I’m currently adoring even more than normal, so why not put them together? I wish I had an aqua purse to go with this look as well, but alas, no such luck. Put it on the shopping list!

I wore this bright and girly dress on the Cincinnati dinner train and it turned out to be a perfect choice. A little fun and flirty, but not too much and paired with not too high of heels that I’d get wobbly walking around. The dinner train was a murder mystery and was tons of fun. We almost solved the murder… okay, not quite – but we tried our best!
