Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or web page in a search engine’s unpaid results.

It involves making changes to the website or web page to make it more attractive to search engines, so that it ranks higher in the search engine’s results page for specific keywords or phrases.

SEO has become a key factor in digital marketing because it can help businesses reach their target audience and drive traffic to their website.

When a website or web page ranks well in search engine results, it can attract more visitors and potential customers. This can lead to increased brand awareness, sales, and revenue.

There are many factors that contribute to a website or web page’s ranking in search engine results, including the quality and relevance of its content, the structure of its URLs and internal linking, the speed at which it loads, and the presence of high-quality backlinks from other websites.

By optimizing these and other elements, businesses can improve their SEO and increase their chances of ranking well in search engine results.

In today’s digital age, it’s important for businesses to have a strong online presence, and SEO is an important part of that.

By investing in SEO, businesses can improve their visibility and reach in search engines, which can help them attract more customers and grow their business.

How many SEO professionals should have in a company

The number of SEO professionals that a company should have depends on the size of the company and the amount of work that needs to be done to optimize its website and online presence.

For small businesses, one or two SEO professionals may be sufficient to handle the company’s SEO efforts.

These individuals may be responsible for conducting keyword research, optimizing website content and meta tags, building backlinks, and tracking the results of their efforts.

For larger companies, it may be necessary to have a team of SEO professionals working together to optimize the company’s online presence.

This team may include SEO specialists, content writers, link builders, and analysts, and may be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive SEO strategy for the company.

In general, the number of SEO professionals that a company needs will depend on the complexity of its SEO needs, the resources that are available to the company, and its overall business goals.

It’s important for companies to determine their SEO needs and allocate the appropriate resources to ensure that their online presence is optimized for success.

What are SEO best practices

Search engine optimization (SEO) best practices are guidelines that help website owners and marketers optimize their websites and web pages to rank higher in search engine results and attract more visitors.

Some of the key SEO best practices include:

Keyword research: Identifying the keywords and phrases that people are using to search for the products or services that the website offers, and using those keywords throughout the website’s content and meta tags.

On-page optimization: Making sure that the website’s content is high-quality, relevant, and useful to the target audience. This includes using descriptive, keyword-rich titles and headings, and including images and other media to make the content more engaging.

Off-page optimization: Building high-quality backlinks from other reputable websites to the website or web page. These backlinks help to increase the credibility and authority of the website in the eyes of search engines.

Technical optimization: Ensuring that the website is fast, mobile-friendly, and easy to use. This may involve optimizing the website’s code, improving the site’s loading speed, and ensuring that it’s easy to navigate on different devices.

Tracking and analysis: Using tools to track the results of the SEO efforts and identify areas for improvement. This may include analyzing website traffic, conversion rates, and other key metrics.

By following these best practices, businesses can improve their visibility in search engine results and attract more qualified visitors to their website.

Best practices to on page SEO

On-page search engine optimization (SEO) refers to the process of optimizing the content and structure of a website or web page to make it more attractive to search engines and more relevant to the target audience.

Here are the five most important on-page SEO factors:

Title tags: Title tags are the text that appears in the title bar of a web browser and in the search engine results page (SERP) as the title of a webpage. Title tags should be descriptive, keyword-rich, and concise, and should accurately reflect the content of the page.

Meta descriptions: Meta descriptions are short summaries that appear in the SERP below the title of a webpage. They should be concise and compelling, and should include the main keywords for the page. Meta descriptions can help to attract clicks from the SERP and improve the page’s click-through rate (CTR).

Headings: Headings, or H1 tags, are used to structure the content on a webpage and help search engines understand the hierarchy of the information on the page. Headings should be descriptive and include the main keywords for the page.

Content: The content on a webpage should be high-quality, relevant, and useful to the target audience. It should include the main keywords for the page and be well-written and well-organized.

Internal linking: Internal linking refers to the process of linking to other pages on the same website. This helps search engines understand the structure of the website and can improve the website’s overall SEO.

By optimizing these on-page SEO factors, businesses can improve their visibility in search engine results and attract more qualified visitors to their website.

Best Practices to Off Page SEO

Off-page search engine optimization (SEO) refers to the process of building high-quality backlinks from other websites to a website or web page.

Here are some best practices for off-page SEO:

Build high-quality backlinks: The quality of the backlinks is more important than the quantity. Look for opportunities to get backlinks from reputable, high-authority websites in your industry.

Use anchor text wisely: Anchor text is the visible text of a hyperlink. Use descriptive, keyword-rich anchor text to help search engines understand the content of the linked page.

Use social media to promote your content: Share your content on social media platforms and engage with your followers to drive traffic to your website.

Participate in relevant forums and communities: Look for forums and communities related to your industry and participate in discussions by providing valuable insights and linking to your website when appropriate.

Use guest blogging: Look for opportunities to contribute content to other websites in your industry as a guest blogger. This can help you build backlinks and increase your visibility.

By following these best practices, businesses can improve their off-page SEO and increase their visibility in search engine results.

It’s important to remember that building high-quality backlinks takes time and requires a consistent, ongoing effort.

Best Practices to Technical SEO

Technical search engine optimization (SEO) refers to the process of optimizing the technical aspects of a website to make it more attractive to search engines and easier to crawl and index.

Here are the five key factors of technical SEO:

Website speed: A fast-loading website is important for SEO because it improves the user experience and can increase the website’s visibility in search engine results.

Mobile-friendliness: More and more people are accessing the internet from their mobile devices, so it’s important for websites to be mobile-friendly. This includes ensuring that the website is easy to navigate and read on a mobile device, and that it loads quickly.

URL structure: URLs should be easy to read and understand, and should include the main keywords for the page. Avoid using dynamic URLs that include long strings of numbers and letters.

Internal linking: Internal linking helps search engines understand the structure of a website and can improve its overall SEO. Use descriptive, keyword-rich anchor text when linking to other pages on the website.

XML sitemaps: An XML sitemap is a file that lists all the URLs on a website and helps search engines understand the structure of the website. Submitting an XML sitemap to search engines can help improve the website’s visibility in search results.

By focusing on these technical SEO factors, businesses can improve their website’s visibility in search engine results and attract more qualified visitors.

Best Link Building Practices

Link building refers to the process of acquiring high-quality backlinks from other websites to a website or web page. Here are some best practices for link building:

Focus on quality over quantity: It’s more important to have a few high-quality backlinks from reputable, authoritative websites than a large number of low-quality backlinks.

Use natural, descriptive anchor text: Anchor text is the visible text of a hyperlink. Use natural, descriptive anchor text that accurately reflects the content of the linked page.

Build relationships: Building relationships with other websites and bloggers in your industry can help you earn natural backlinks. Engage with these websites and contribute valuable content to build credibility and trust.

Create high-quality content: High-quality content is more likely to attract natural backlinks from other websites. Create informative, useful, and engaging content that provides value to your target audience.

Conclusion

There are other key factors also. But the good thing is you do not need to be a tech coding guy to learn SEO.

Blogging has been around since the early 1990s, when the first blog, called Open Diary, was created by Justin Hall.

At the time, blogging was a way for people to share their thoughts and experiences online in a diary-like format.

As the internet became more popular, blogging began to evolve and people started using it to share their opinions and expertise on a wide range of topics.

Today, blogging is a major part of the online world and millions of people use blogs to share their ideas and connect with others.

What is blogging?

Blogging is the act of creating and publishing content on the internet in the form of a blog. A blog is a website that typically contains text, images, videos, and other media that are arranged in reverse chronological order, with the most recent content appearing first.

People who create and publish blogs are known as bloggers. Blogs can cover a wide range of topics, from personal experiences to news and current events to specialized interests.

Many people use blogs as a way to express themselves and connect with others who share their interests.

Niche blogging vs Micro niche blogging: Which is better?

It is difficult to say which is best, as it ultimately depends on the individual blogger and their goals. Both niche and micro-niche blogs have their advantages and disadvantages.

Niche blogs, which focus on a specific topic or area of expertise, can be beneficial because they allow a blogger to build an audience of people who are interested in that topic.

Mr. Shekhar has described some awesome niches for 2023 and beyond. Check that.

This can help a blogger to establish themselves as an authority in their field and potentially monetize their blog through advertising, sponsorships, and other forms of income.

However, niche blogs can also be challenging because the audience for a specific niche may be relatively small, which can make it difficult for a blogger to grow their audience and reach a wider audience.

Micro niche blogs, which focus on a very specific and narrowly-defined topic, can be beneficial because they allow a blogger to build an even more engaged and loyal audience.

Because the audience for a micro niche is often highly passionate about the topic, they may be more likely to engage with the content and share it with others.

However, micro niche blogs can also be challenging because the audience for a specific micro niche may be very small, which can make it difficult for a blogger to grow their audience and monetize their blog.

Are you starting a blog, learn SEO and rank it fast or hire us.

Advantages of Micro niche blogging

Some advantages of a micro niche blog include:

A highly engaged and loyal audience: Because a micro niche blog focuses on a very specific topic, the audience for the blog is likely to be highly passionate about that topic. This will give you your loyal customers.

Opportunities for specialization: A micro niche blog allows a blogger to focus on a very specific topic, which can make them an authority in that area.

Opportunities for growth: Even though the audience for a specific micro niche may be small, the blog itself can still grow over time. As the blogger creates more content and establishes themselves as an authority in their field, they may be able to attract a larger audience and expand their reach.

Opportunities for collaboration: A micro niche blog can also provide opportunities for collaboration with other bloggers who have similar interests. By working together, bloggers can share their expertise and potentially reach a wider audience.

Opportunities for experimentation: Because a micro niche blog focuses on a very specific topic, it can provide opportunities for the blogger to experiment with different types of content and see what works best with their audience. This can help the blogger to refine their content and improve their blog over time.

Disadvantages of micro niche blogging

Some disadvantages of micro niche blogging include:

Limited audience size: Because a micro niche blog focuses on a very specific and narrowly-defined topic, the potential audience for the blog may be very small. This can make it difficult for the blogger to grow their audience and reach a wider audience.

Limited monetization opportunities: The small size of the potential audience for a micro niche blog can also make it difficult to monetize the blog through advertising, sponsorships, and other forms of income. This can make it challenging for the blogger to generate income from their blog.

Limited content opportunities: A micro niche blog may also have limited content opportunities, as the focus is on a very specific topic. This can make it difficult for the blogger to come up with new and interesting content ideas on a regular basis.

Limited collaboration opportunities: Because the audience for a micro niche blog is small, there may be limited opportunities for collaboration with other bloggers who have similar interests. This can make it difficult for the blogger to share their expertise and reach a wider audience.

Limited flexibility: Finally, a micro niche blog may lack flexibility, as the focus is on a very specific topic. This can make it difficult for the blogger to adapt to changes in their interests or the interests of their audience.

Google voice search is a technology that allows users to search for information using their voice, rather than typing keywords into a search engine.

Voice search is typically used on mobile devices with virtual assistants, such as Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant.

To use voice search, a user speaks a question or request into their device, and the virtual assistant uses natural language processing to understand and respond to the query.

Voice search can be convenient and efficient, as it allows users to search for information hands-free and without having to type. It is also useful for users who are unable to type, such as people with disabilities or those on the go.

How many voice searches are there on Google daily?

It is difficult to say exactly how many voice searches are performed on Google each day, as Google does not publicly disclose this information.

However, it is likely that the number of voice searches is increasing, as the technology becomes more widely available and more people use virtual assistants on their devices.

According to a 2019 report from ComScore, 50% of all searches will be voice searches by 2020, which suggests that the number of voice searches on Google may be quite high.

Additionally, research from BrightEdge found that in 2020, the average monthly search volume for long-tail keywords, which are commonly used in voice searches, increased by over 50% compared to the previous year.

This suggests that the use of voice search is growing rapidly.

Will voice searches on google will be the key to success in 2023?

Look, It is difficult to predict exactly how important voice search will be in 2023, as it is influenced by many factors, such as the continued development of virtual assistant technology, the adoption of voice search by users, and the strategies of search engine companies.

However, it is likely that voice search will continue to be an important part of the search landscape in 2023 and beyond.

As more and more people use virtual assistants on their devices, the number of voice searches is likely to increase, and search engines will need to continue to develop their voice search capabilities to meet this demand.

Additionally, as the technology improves and becomes more sophisticated, it is likely that voice search will become an increasingly important way for users to interact with and access information on the internet.

How google voice search works?

Google Voice Search is a feature of the Google app that allows users to perform a search on Google using their voice.

When you use Google Voice Search, your voice is sent to Google’s servers where it is processed and analysed using a combination of machine learning algorithms and data from previous searches.

How voice search is helping in SEO?

Voice search is a growing trend that is changing the way people use search engines. By using natural language and speaking their queries, instead of typing them out, people can get faster and more accurate results from their search engine.

This is particularly helpful for mobile users who may find it easier to speak their query rather than type it out on a small screen.

One way that voice search is helping with SEO is by making it easier for search engines to understand the intent behind a user’s query.

With traditional typed search queries, it can be difficult for a search engine to determine exactly what the user is looking for.

However, with voice search, the user’s intent is often more clear because they are speaking in natural language. This makes it easier for search engines to provide relevant and accurate results.

Another way that voice search is helping with SEO is by making it easier for people to find local businesses.

When people use voice search, they often include location-specific keywords in their query, such as the name of a city or neighbourhood.

This makes it easier for local businesses to show up in search results and attract customers who are looking for their products or services.

Overall, voice search is helping with SEO by making it easier for search engines to understand user intent and providing better results for local businesses.

By optimizing their website for voice search, businesses can improve their search engine rankings and attract more customers.

Final Words

SO, this was a brief idea and discussion about Google voice search optimization. I hope you should not have any basic confusion about this query. In case if you have any, please let me know via comments !!

Will AI Kill SEO Jobs? Ummm, that is a great question asked by one of my followers. There are thousands of SEO professionals in this World and this blog article is actually going to clear all the confusions in yours mind.

We all are somewhat fascinated by tools and software, especially when we are analyzing content for better ranking. And we have realized that AI is already making a stir in almost every industry.

Let’s deep dive into the topic and discuss a few aspects of this concern.

What is AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and act like humans. These intelligent machines are designed to learn from their environment and experiences, and to adapt to new inputs and situations.

AI systems are capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as recognizing patterns, making decisions, and problem-solving. AI is being used in a wide range of fields, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and education, to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

Disadvantages of Artificial intelligence?

There are several potential disadvantages to the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Some of the key disadvantages include:

Job displacement: As AI systems become more advanced, they may be able to automate many of the tasks that are currently performed by human workers. This could lead to job losses and unemployment, particularly for workers in industries that are easily automated.

Bias and discrimination: AI systems are only as good as the data they are trained on, and if the data is biased, the AI system may also be biased. This can lead to unfair and discriminatory outcomes, particularly in fields like criminal justice and hiring.

Privacy concerns: AI systems often require large amounts of data to be effective, and this data can include personal information about individuals. This raises concerns about the privacy and security of this data, and the potential for it to be misused.

Lack of accountability: AI systems are not always transparent in the way they make decisions, and it can be difficult to determine why they made a particular decision. This lack of accountability can make it difficult to hold AI systems accountable for their actions.

Overall, while AI has many potential benefits, it is important to carefully consider and address these potential disadvantages to ensure that its use is responsible and ethical.

How many SEO professionals are there in the world?

It is difficult to say exactly how many SEO professionals there are in the world, as the field is not regulated and there is no official certification or licensing process.

However, there are likely to be many thousands of people working in the field of SEO, as it is an important and growing area of digital marketing.

SEO professionals can work in a variety of different settings, including in-house at companies, at digital marketing agencies, or as freelance consultants.

The number of SEO professionals is likely to continue to grow as more businesses recognize the importance of search engine optimization in driving traffic and revenue.

Now, the main question is,

Will AI kill SEO jobs?

It is unlikely that AI will completely replace SEO jobs. While AI and machine learning technologies are advancing quickly, they are still limited in their ability to perform many of the tasks that are part of an SEO’s job.

SEO is a complex field that involves many different skills and techniques, and it is difficult to automate all of these processes.

Additionally, search engines are constantly changing their algorithms, which means that SEO professionals need to be constantly adapting and updating their strategies.

Therefore, it is unlikely that AI will be able to completely replace SEO jobs in the near future.

Final Words

So, to summarize this never ending topic for future, We all can say AI has benefited all industries in some aspects.

Remember, before the invention of computers, people used to store data in paper files. After the invention, they all started thinking about the lack of clarity in future people’s career.

But now, in 2023, we all are using computers in a different way rather than just thinking the discovery made our life suck. In fact, the computers increases the job numbers.

So, AI is just a tool which is instructed to act like a human. But human jobs are never going to go anywhere.

What we all should do is use the tools in such a way that companies and brands can get benefit out of it. If you’re helping any brand in any way, you will be there mate!

SEO, which is an organic marketing method and a bit tricky to learn, will look like a cup of tea to you after reading this guide.

Search Engine Optimization is the process by implementing which we help our websites to rank up on search engines organically.

This article covers all the corners of finding a profitable keyword to gain some organic traffic to your blog.

We used to write long blog posts for 3-4 hours daily, but still, it doesn’t rank sometimes. If you focus on optimizing that content by putting efforts of just 15 minutes, who can say, it may rank !!

In 2022, Google is processing over 60000 searches per second, which converts to 8.5 billion searches daily. That’s incredible, right?

So, to rank number 1 on the first page of Google can be a deciding and life changing factor for your blog.

You may hear about SEO before, know its full name. But, didn’t go deeper into this. Here, I will tell you what are the things you should optimize actually and how you can learn SEO.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization”. It is the practice of optimizing our content in such a way that it fulfills all the credentials/factors of the search engine ranking algorithm.

Computer Nerd GIFfrom Computer GIFs

Let me elaborate a bit.

Suppose you wrote content about ‘How to rank your blog’. You will definitely want Google to show your page on 1st position when anyone searches for the term ‘How to rank your blog’ right?

Here comes SEO. For this, we need to write such structured content that Google likely to show our post on top.

How Search Engine works?

Every search engines have a huge database. It stores all web page copies in their databases.

Every page contains a certain information. Search engines show relevant web pages to relevant searches.

How do they do so?

It all depends on their individual algorithm. Google has a different algorithm than Bing or, Yahoo.

And that is why a page ranks 1 on Bing may not rank on even the first two pages of Google and Vice-versa.

In a simple article, Google describes how their algorithm actually works. They indicated five crucial points. You can check them below :

source url: https://www.google.com/intl/en_in/search/howsearchworks/how-search-works/ranking-results/

How SEO works?

SEO is a never-ending battle between search engines and professionals who want to rank their webpages in a short period of time.

SEO works on different page criteria. Incoming links are the most important among all. It is one of the oldest SEO tactics and will be continued for sure.

Page relevancy matters a lot. A well optimized, user-engaging content have higher chances to rank up.

And one of the main factor is User-experience. Many small things fall under user-experience topic, like site architecture, site speed, bounce rate, dwell time, etc.

In 2023, and in the upcoming years, voice SEO is going to be the key. Optimizing our content such a way that it will show up on voice searches, particularly on mobile will really help.

How many types of SEO are there?

There are many types of SEO according to strategical ways. 3 of the most important types are white hat SEO, grey hat SEO, and black hat SEO.

I hope you are reading this post for learning long-term SEO strategies. White hat SEO is the only option you have in this case.

This is the process or, strategies which you implement legally in your site. Black hat SEO is exactly different. That is for short term improvement though.

So, we will be discussing just on White-hat strategies.

On the basis of the implementation process, SEO is of 3 types: On-page SEO, Off-page SEO, and technical SEO.

ON-PAGE SEO

What is on page SEO?

This is the type of SEO strategy that we used to implement inside our blog website pages to show them in the top position organically.

There are factors like user-experience, bounce rate, search intent, click through rate, and many more in this strategy.

We will elaborate them briefly here.

Make your site crawlable:

Before you think about rank on top pages, ensure that search engines are crawling your site properly.

Google uses a computer programming named ‘spider‘ to collect data from the newest published web pages. If your site’s link is somewhere on another site that is already visible to Google, then the spider will read your link automatically from there when it’ll start crawling the page again.

A few factors may lead your site un-crawlable to Google, such as ‘no-follow links’ ‘poor linking structures’, ‘robots.txt blocking’.

Properly use Meta and title tags:

Meta tags are those which are hidden in our page coding structure. We can not see those in the naked eye on a website. It can appear in page source code.

click the image to enlarge

Title tag is the most important tag which helps search engine crawlers to understand a webpage better.

By properly optimizing meta tags and title tags, we ensure our page visibility on the SERP.

Use headings to break your content:

People don’t like long blog posts, yeah! that’s the bitter truth. But a short content may seem to be useless to search engines.

So, what we should do now?

We can write a detailed post, and break them into some sub-headings. Like this:
This will let your audience to properly understand whole content. Also, this will make sure, the long blog post doesn’t look messy.

Proper keyword research:

This is the most important SEO factor. Because of the increasing competition, it is hard to find a profitable keyword.

But we can analyze our competitors by using ahrefs, or semrush tools. And can check the low competition keywords on which they are ranking.

Target those keywords, use relevant keywords in your blog post. If you don’t know how to get those, then you can take help from Google autofill strategy.

Answer The Public is also one of the great tools designed only for content creators and finding people’s search intent.

Keyword density:

Most of the pro bloggers will tell you not to run after keyword density. I am adding this point to make you understand what keyword density is, and how you can optimize this.

Keyword density is the term which shows how many times you use a certain keyword into an article.

After Google penguin and Panda updates, site owners who used to stuff keywords previously had been rules out from the Web.

The important thing you should remember that, you don’t need to stuff a keyword many times. Instead of doing this, find out all the synonyms of that word people are searching for.

Then put them all into your content.

SEO plugins like Yoast, RankMath provide you an option that shows how many times you used your focus keyword. So it will be easy for you if you install one of these plugins.

Use SEO friendly URLs:

What do I mean by SEO friendly URLs?

These are those types of URLs that are short, and descriptive. By checking your URL, anyone can assume what’s your content about.

For an example,
‘https://blogformarketers.com/what-do-you-mean-by-seo-friendly-url-in-2020‘ is not an SEO friendly URL. Instead, we can use ‘https://blogformarketers.com/seo-friendly-url ‘.

Write unique meta description:

Meta description is the section which shows on the Search engine result page.
It is highly recommend not to spam in your meta description, not to leave it blank. We should write meta descriptions of every posts by own.

source: Moz

Search engines detect duplicate meta descriptions and thus can de-rank your page anytime. Try to give readers an idea with a question mark in your meta.
Because such kinds of pages tend to have more clicks.

Unique blog content:

Before writing any blog content, I personally create a mind-map. You can do this for free on your Word files too.

Point out all the keywords which you will be going to discuss. Writing in-depth content is a must.

It is OK to check how your competitors are doing with their content, but never copy them. If you have the same content which is already on the web, then Google will less likely rank your page for sure.

Understand search intent:

Search intent means the exact information people are looking for.

Suppose you are searching for ‘Micro niche blog ideas’, then, maybe, you will not be interested to read a blog who’s giving information on ‘how to start a blog’ in it.
That’s where search intent comes.

People who are looking for ‘earphones under 2000’ are likely to buy an earphone which costs under 200. There are no needs to show ‘earphones under 5000’ results to them.

Use FAQ schema:

According to a search stats, approximately 67% of all searches are of questions types.

Readers come to our blog so that they can gather some knowledge or information from here. Everyone using the internet for information.

So, if you target audiences who need specific answers to their queries, then there are higher chances Google show your blog to them.

FAQ means frequently asked questions. If you type anything in Google search bar, It will show you all the popular questions people are asking on that broad topic.

You also can get help from Answer The Public, which is indeed a great tool to get a real searched questions list.

Use of images:

If I write 5000 words blog article without a single visual effects in it, no body gonna read it till the end, for sure.

Images used to describe any topic visually. Also it can attract your readers from social medias like Pinterest, Instagram.

Using an infographic on an article perfectly describes the whole page’s contents. Also, there are higher chances to get your posts shared socially.

Remember to use ‘alt tag’ in every image. Because Google do not even read pictures. The ‘alt-tag’ can help Google to read the image properly.

Also, it is highly recommended to properly optimize your image before inserting it into the page. Optimizing means re-sizing and re-scaling.

Insert Videos:

Videos not only describes information clearly, but also it helps to reduce the bounce rate of your site.

It is better to start a YouTube channel for your blog. Every time you publish an article, make sure you describe your words through a video too.

Inserting that into the article will let people get the exact information they need from there.

Internal linking:

This is the most important factor in On-page SEO.

Internal linking means connecting your other relevant pages together.

This plugin can do all the interlinking for you by just typing the keywords for a particular page.

Here is how to set this: Tutorial

But there are a few things you should remember.

If you are using the Silo structure, do not interlink posts from different categories. Do not force your readers to go to another page by clicking.

Always try to interlink pages naturally. It will increase the click through rate also.

Boost page speed:

In a thread, Google clarifies that page speed is the biggest key to rank on first.
If your site does not load under 3 seconds, readers are likely to leave your page and will go to the next site for that information.

It can be a major issue for your branding. Also it will increase bounce rate of your site.
To maintain a good site loading speed, use a better web hosting, a good cache plugin, AMP version, image optimization plugin, CDN.

Optimize for voice searches:

Voice searches will rule the web in future. Many experts predicted this before.
People are so lazy nowadays, they don’t even have time to type for their queries. Instead, they speak to search engines by turning on their mic.

To optimize your site such a way that it can be shown be voice search results, you have to use long tail keywords in your article properly.

For an example, “Blogging” is a keyword with thousands of monthly searches. And it is highly competitive too,

But there are millions of long-tail keyword under “Blogging” which are continuously searching on the web by people. As I said you can get those from Answer the Public tool.

Using those in your article will let your post appeared on voice search result.

OFF PAGE SEO

Many of us didn’t know what is off page SEO. It’s not just about link building. Off-page SEO has a deeper meaning.

This is those type of SEO strategies which we generally implement outside our website to rank on Search engines.

As we get a brief knowledge about on-page SEO checklist, now move forward to Off-page SEO checklist.

In a brief sentence, off-page SEO tells Google what other website thinks about your contents.

Moz provides an in-detailed infographic which will make your queries clear.

Site architecture:

You heard about Silo? It is a type of advanced site architecture which helps Google to crawl your site properly.

It is fully legal. You can implement this to get better user experience and to make flow link-juice easier.

I have written a well documented article on Chayan’s blog Simple Facts Online. Check it now: Silo Structure guide by Shekhar Chatterjee

Suppose, you write content about two categories. Divide them into two silo page first. Then link your two category pages with them. And finally, interlink all the essential posts with the category pages.

This will make sure your link juice flow all through your site.

Referring domains:

It is the number of domains linking back to you.

Suppose you are going to buy a camera in an offline physical store. You have 2 camera shops in your location ‘A’ and ‘B’.

Everyone is recommending you to buy camera from ‘A’ store. No one, or say, a few are recommending ‘B’ as good as ‘A’.

From where should you buy the camera? Of course, from ‘A’ store right?

Because ‘A’ store has been recommended by many of camera users.

Same thing happens in search engine ranking. The more your site is being recommended by other sites, the upper your site will rank.

Number of backlinks:

This is the type of link which is directed to your site from another.

Backlinks are of two types ‘do-follow’ and ‘no-follow’. Recently Google announced ‘ugc’ i.e, user-generated content backlinks as a type.

The most useful among these is ‘do-follow’ backlink. Because your site get the link juice from the referrer site.

Creating backlinks are easy, but creating valuable and genuine backlinks aren’t.
Do-follow backlinks from a relevant high authority domain can boost up your ranking really quickly.

Social media:

In the initial days of starting our blog, we got frustrated by not getting any traffic. Same thing happened to me.

Social media is a genuine platform where you can build your traffic and as well as brand authority.

Though it will not help you to rank in search engine but it will give you the chance to finf real audience of your blog.

So, from the very first day, a blogger should active in all social platforms to engage with customers by providing then value through content.

Guest posting:

Many people think why should we write blog on another site, it’s better to write that on my own blog. Let me tell you that you people are totally wrong.

Guest posting is not just providing a content to another site owner, it’s a win-win game. Ask me how?

Posting an article on another authority site can be useful for link building, brand mention and also self branding too.

Suppose you’re writing a guest post on a quality site in your niche which has a moderate or huge amount of visitors. If someone shows an intention to know about you there, they might click the link you provided.

And thus, your site also can gain traffic.

Email newsletter:

The newsletter is also one of the off-page SEO tactics. By implementing this, you may not gain authority in Google’s eye. But, it is an important factor for driving those traffics who already love your content.

There are higher chances that they come to read or, buy a product which you’re offering to them by email.

Instead of having so many social media platforms, this is still one of the major ways to drive traffic and increase sales.

Broken link building:

Broken link can be poisonous for a site. These are such types of links which redirect to a 404 page.

There are some free chrome extensions by using which you can check broken link on any page on the Internet.

After you find any broken link, contact the site owner and tell about that broken link. Provide him/her an in-depth content on that topic.

They might remove the broken link and link back to your page if possible.

TECHNICAL SEO

Basically Technical SEO means preparing your website technically strong for crawling and indexing.

As I told you, Google have crawlers which are continuously crawling our sites for better online visibility.

Every search engines have different algorithm. On the basis of those crawlers detect how your site should be positioned in SERP.

And for this, many SEO experts advised to check technical SEO audit yearly or, half yearly if possible.

Some factors are there which everyone should keep in mind.

Use a secure connection:

I discovered many threads on Google recently about Green lock before site URL on browser. People are still not taking this seriously.

SSL which means Secure Socket Layer is a networking protocol which is designed for secure connection.

If you are using an insecure connection yet, remember, Google doesn’t bother any payment related issues on an insecure website.

Many web hosting provides free SSL with their plans. Otherwise, you also can buy SSL from an authorized SSL company.

Make responsive web pages:

You have to make sure your all web pages can be fit in any device i.g; mobiles or tablets. Only 25% readers used to read blogs via computer. Rest 75% use mobiles and tablets.

If your site isn’t responsive, Google will never rank those web pages to people.
Because, at first, Google only detects if your page is easily visible or not.

I told you many times about GeneratePress theme. This is one of the most responsive theme I’ve ever used.

Site-speed really matters:

Website speed depends upon many metrics. The first step you should take is, using a Good web hosting if you aren’t yet.

Then using and cache plugin will do all the work for you.

Make sure you are using a lightweight theme like GeneratePress premium.

People love blogs which load under 2-2.5 seconds. Try to achieve this to get a better search result.

Use XML sitemap:

The sitemap generally includes all the pages of your site. It helps search engines to understand and navigate your site properly.

A sitemap also gives information to search engines about the page priority, how frequently you update old posts.

Add Structured data mark-up:

There are some SEO plugins which help you by giving an option to choose what your article about.

Structured data is a tool for search engine to understand the content on your site.
By using this, your content can be more visually appealing, and can give accurate information to readers on SERP.

Remove duplicate content:

If you use the same content in multiple pages on your site, the search engine will detect and consider it as duplicate content.

Do not confuse search engine with this kind of content.

You can solve this issue by indicating canonical tag i.e. indicating the original page you want to rank on search engine.

OVER TO YOU

As promised, I gave you the detailed knowledge of What is SEO in digital marketing, and how SEO works.

These are the ways you can implement on your site from today to get a better web search result.

After the successful roll out of Google helpful content update phase-1 on August 2022, Google now officially confirmed that it is going to roll out the update phase-2.

On it’s official search engine ranking algorithm updates blog, Google added one more column on 5th December, 2022.

It added, “”released the December 2022 helpful content update, which improves our classifier and works across content globally in all languages.” Google added, “the roll out may take up to two weeks to complete.”

So, this is a minor update according to Google which is being added to the August, 2022 helpful content update. This roll out will help it’s crawlers to work properly on global languages.

A Quick Snap About Google Helpful Content Update

Facts

Detail

Update Name

Google Helpful Content Update (2nd Phase)

Launched on

5th December, 2022

Estimation Roll out time

2 weeks to fully roll out

Roll out goal

To kick out contents written for Search engines rather than human.

Effects

As per the official blog, this roll out is currently only for Google Search, but it may expand it to Discover & news too.

Will there be any penalty?

There aren’t any penalty mentioned in the document but websites will be hit by the update for sure.

Site-wide

Yes, the algorithm update will affect whole website ranking.

Major/ Minor update?

The main update was on August, 2022.
What is Google December Helpful Content Update? [Simplification]

According to Google, you should always provide content to help people. Every website need to rank higher. But ‘Only’ ranking higher should not be your approach as a site admin.

If you published content for user, you do not even need for a manual link building strategy. Users will automatically share and provide source link to your blog.

The name tells you the explanation – ‘Google helpful content update’. That means, to show up the actual pages which are providing more value or more help to your customers or readers.

At the same time, kicking all those pages which is following a blind SEO strategy and adding content only to rank higher rather than helping users.

In addition, this December update will extend and apply the same rule to all global languages. There are other additions to the previous Google signals which again, Google didn’t clarify for the obvious reason.

More Insights

Google’s search Liaison, Danny Sullivan on Mastodon said that this December Google update is a minor update and it will apply to other languages now which was previously applied only to English content.

He added, it will help and improve our classifier. Though he didn’t mention about ranking up. But he added, all those content which are not adding value to our readers will be kicked sooner or later from SERP.

Last Lines

August helpful content update got many criticism as the ‘quietest’ update ever. As many people and webmasters didn’t feel any major changes to their sites. Google is improving their previous updates and are making changes to the algorithm of ranking constantly. Here is the tweet :

The Dec. 2022 helpful content update was released Dec. 5, starting to become more visible today & will take about two weeks to fully roll out. It improves our classifier & works across content globally in all languages.
