Many bloggers who migrated from blogger.com to self hosted WordPress, were facing issues while redirecting via the mobile template. The URL ends with ?m=1 (for instance, http://example.blogspot.com/test-post.html?m=1).

Number of people were asking us to give solution for such redirection process in our free Support forum. For most of them the problem was same ‘single post URL was redirecting toward home page instead of actual WordPress blog post’. • Use Custom Domains: The users who are using custom domain will not be affected, since their url structure will remain the same and it will not be redirected ( Refer this).
• Adding ‘ncr’ slug to blog url: Adding a ‘ncr’ slug to your blog url stops the redirection and it shows the actual domain address.

For example opening http://abc.blogspot.com in India will open http://abc.blogspot.in,

however, if you open http://abc.blogspot.com/ncr in any country it will simply open the same url i.e. http://abc.blogspot.com

How to add ‘ncr’ slug to your blog url:

I recently found a code snippet to add ncr slug to your blogger url.

Follow the below steps:

• Open Blogger dashboard and select template
• Click on ‘Edit Html’ and then ‘Proceed’
• Add following code:

But very few bloggers understand about their domain registrar of custom domain. It is crucial to have a knowledge and access to your domain registrar as it might be needed while moving to WordPress, change in DNS configuration or changing privacy settings.

Here are the simple steps to access that :

After purchasing domain from blogger.com, you receive one email with the subject Google Apps — Domain registration confirmation.

Click on the link within an email which redirect you to your Google Apps account. Click on the top menu option ‘Domain Settings’, where you will find your blogger blog domain access (See the screen shot below).

Click on ‘Sign in to DNS console’ link and you will be redirected towards enom account, please fill in log-in credentials and you can now access your domain registrar details there.

And give them old blogspot post URL which is not redirecting to WordPress post.

The above statement will help the hostgator support team to understand the issue correctly.

1. Check if the blogger to WordPress redirection plugin is activated.

2. Check if your permalinks structure on your WordPress is same as the custom structure recommended here.

You can check the custom field of posts in the post editor of WordPress.

3. Check this site to verify that if your old post (www.example.com/?b2w=http://example.blogspot.com/2011/07/test-post.html) is still giving 403 Forbidden error. If yes, you need to cross check the issue with Hostgator team again
