How to Write The Perfect Blog Post?

Do You Want to Catch a Readers Interest? Just like I caught yours by my title. I asked a question in which you were looking for the answer to. The difference between junk blog post and a blog post with a hook.

The Intriging Title:
Does your blog title ask a question? Or maybe answer a question.
Give the reader a fishing line with a hook. What is a fishing line with a hook? It comes with bait.
Bait that drives the reader to click the title of your blog post to read more. Did you get it? Are they clicking on; to read the rest of your story.

Examples of Hooks:

How to?
What is?
Where can I?
The # 1 reason FOR?
Top 10?
20 reasons?

They prompt for an immediate action; Click Me They Say to the Reader!

The Eye Appealing Blog Post:
Does your blog post carry that same hook or is it some jarbled up mess of junk! How you write your blog post body carries alot of weight with readers; its the difference between a full read or a click away to something better. Hopefully your blog post has that hook that intrigues the reader to move to more of your interesting blog post. Then they stay longer and maybe even sign up for your subscribtion or follow you on Twitter, Facebook, or Google Friend.

Let me show you the difference between the two.

Blog Post Junk:
You could have a great blog post but if it looks like this. Its blog post junk. A reader
will move on to someone elses blog.

A blog post can look like a heap of garbage. Full of cans, plastic bags, plastic containers, cardboard boxes, pop cans, plastic bottles, etc. Or you can clean it up and put everything in its proper perspective so it is recycled and goes where it belongs. When garbage it recycled it save money, just like when a article is recycled and given some clarity and appeal it will suck the reader in grasping for more and more. He will want it so badly he will subscribe to your RSS feed, follow you on Twitter or Facebook.

This blog post is bunched together, nothing distinctive to grab your readers interest or eye. Look at the next example.

A Blog Post With a Hook:
Here's the same paragraph but given some cleaning up and hook appeal. This will promp your reader to continue reading your blog post.

A blog post can look like a heap of garbage.

tin cans,

plastic bags,

plastic containers,

cardboard boxes,

pop cans,

plastic bottles, etc.

Or you can clean it up and put everything into proper perspective so it is recycled and goes where it belongs. When garbage it recycled it saves money, just like when a article is recycled and given some clarity and appeal it will suck the reader in grasping for more and more.

Look what happened. Your hear at the bottom of this paragraph. Now look at the difference of the very same blog post. The first example your reader would just pass over, but the next one kept your reader captivated to the very end. Hey you never know he might like it enough to follow you.

Gain Blog Traffic With Kindness

Hey my fellow blogger friends: I found a great place to acquire traffic for your blog. But you may have already signed up there. Bloggers.com has well over a MILLION members.

Can you imagine having ALL those members following your every move and reading your content on your blog.

Bloggers is not a place to blast other members with being rude though. When I first signed up with Bloggers there where plenty of characters rudely asking me to click, follow their blog or click on their Google AdSense ads which is totally against Google's TOA's.

Don't waste your time signing up if that's all your after. Cause I won't waste one second even looking at your blog. I couldn't care less what your offering. Your a rude person to ask a person to follow you! Earn it Buddy! Then I might give you one ounce of my respect.

My analogy for using Bloggers.com is like so; I will fill you with kindness, I will offer you something worthy of reading and hopefully I will have gained your trust to follow me on my blog.

Here's how I Use Bloggers.com to Get Friends and Traffic:

I've read a few comments about how some members of Bloggers are
complaining about not getting any attention from fellow members here at Bloggers.

Below are a few tips on how to acquire followers:
Everything that happens on your Bloggers profile comes to you via email.

Step 1.) What to do when someone request a friendship?

1. Send message; first thank them for the friendship
2. Go to their Friends page; add, vote and follow them
3. Follow their blog: give them a rating and review
4. Comment and vote on 1 or more of their blog post.

Step 2.) What to do when some one leaves you a comment?
Everything that happens on your Bloggers profile comes to you via email.

1. Reply back with a comment to let them know that you care about their input.
2. If you haven't added them as a friend do so now.
3. Vote and Follow them.
4. Follow their blog and leave a review.
5. Comment and vote on blog post.

Step 3.) Start a new Talk session or Follow a Talk Session

1. Leave a comment.
2. If you started a new Talk and someone responds. Thank them. Give them a thumbs up.

Step 4.) What you could do for a featured blogger?
A featured blogger has been chosen by the editors of Bloggers.

1. Go to featured bloggers profile and leave them a congrats in their comment area.
2. If their not a friend follow the in steps 1 instructions.

Steps 5.) Other tips for success with Bloggers.

1. Go to the Directory and invite the best blogger profiles to your profile..
2. Go to most popular blogs and invite each them to your profile.
3. Go to popular topics and pick a blog post and leave comments

Blogger Addi Quick Tip # 3 - ShareThis Hovering Share Side Bar

Blogger Addi Quick Tip # 3:
Allowing Readers to Share Your Valuable Content

We found another nifty wonderful little sharing tool that works great with Google's blogger platform. ShareThis offers a hovering side bar for allowing your friends to share your awe inspiring blog post.

Its pretty simple to install on Google's blogger platform. You should head over to the ShareThis site and get the the code to install within your Html of your template.

1.) Set up an account with ShareThis. They track how many times someone shares your content.

2.) Next click on the LABS link at the top of their website. Scroll down to the article post that says "Hovering Buttons - Beta" and click on it, now click the get it now button. It will take you to the coding to place on your blog. Here you can choose if you want it to be on the left or right side. Remember people read from left to right. Now copy and paste each of the codes onto notepad and save it on your desktop.

This section of coding goes into the header part of your html template.

3.) Now sign into Blogger; look for the TEMPLATE link. Click on it. Now you should be looking at a Customize or Edit HTML links. You want Edit Html, click it.

4.) Look in the coding find the code that says <head>. Right click and paste the first script code behind the <head> and save Template. Now scroll all the way down to the bottom of html coding; copy and paste the 2nd script code before the <body> into the bottom part of your html template code and save template.

OK. You signed up for your FREE Google Blogger account.

Before your start adding blog post start thinking about what you want your Logo or Header design to look like.

Cheesy. Professional. Grunge. Sophisticated Look.

Take some careful thought about what you want blog look like. What kind of look and feel to give it before you start writing blog post articles.You want someone to remember you and your blog. A creative header can do that.Your header image should be crisp, clean, and professional. It should deliver a clear message to what your content is going to be about.

I view so many blogs that you can be certainly positive that the blogger is only there to serve Google Ads. I call it Google Ad Glitter. The kind of glitter that is hard on the eyeballs and is a major turn off to a blog. When I see this Google Ad GLITTER it doesn't even take me a half second and I run as fast as I can to leave that blog. Yuk. Yuk. Yuk. Even if that blogger had great blog articles. I can't stand looking at nothing but ads.

People always ask me what I use to design my blogger blog header image.I use a software call Artisteer to design the template part of it and I use AAA Logo to build my header image and logo part for my blogger blog. I like to accent it with several color variations to give it eye candy appeal for my viewers and I get alot of compliments for it.

How to load a header image into Google's Blogger platform?Before you can upload an header image you need to design one. But here we're going to assume that you have one designed and it is on your desktop of your computor.

First thing sign in to your Google blogger account.
Then go to the Layout link from the menu list.
You should see all your gadgets of how your template is layed out now.
Click the gadget that says Header (edit) and open it.
Now look for: Image: From your computor and click browse.
From there it will bring you to your picture folder you have on your computor. Go to the very top browser bar and click the first down arrow and click desktop.
Now you can browse till you find your header image that you designed and upload it by pressing open and it will upload it for you.
Now go to the very bottom and save.

This will now have uploaded your header image for your blog.

Using Meta Tags in Blogs

Should You Use Meta Tags in Your Blog?
This question is debatable among Internet Marketers. I have read articles suggesting that using meta tags isn't worth while any more. It doesn't do anything for finding your blog in the SERP'S.

But I have my own question.
Why is it when you submit your site to multiple search engines that it is mandatory for these very meta tags.

Most search engines ask for the meta tags. For myself I use meta tags in my blogs. I have also noticed that when I search for my long-tailed keywords that I have used in my meta tags that they are used by the search engines to find your blog.

I believe they give search engines a directive, and focal point for your blog.

4 reasons I use meta tags in my blog:

Author - Your the blog owner.
Copyright - Blog Name
Keywords - Long-tailed keywords that drive the content of blog.
Description - Descrition of blog is the focal point.

How Do I Place These Meta Tags in My Blog?
If your using Google's blogger platform it's easy. In the image above I gave an example of what your meta tag should look like.

Where to Place Meta Tags in Blog:
1. Log into Google Blogger.com.
2. Look down your menu and find the Template link. Click on the link.
3.It's going to load your template. Now scroll down to the very bottom of the page and find Edit Template HTML. Click on the link.
4. Now you can see all your blog html code. Check the box that says Expand Widget Template. Look for this code <head>. Place your meta tag code right after the >. Now go down to the Save Template Button and click on it. Your done.

Choosing a Keyword Strategy for Your Blogspot Blog

The biggest step in designing your blog is building your keyword strategy.

Before you jump in with both feet and start a blog you must consider what keywords your going to use through out your blog. One mistake I see new blogger make is get a blog before the custom domain. The Internet is like real estate property.

Once you establish that blog it's there for life. And it can't be erased. Set in stone. Kind of like a piece of land. It can't be moved. Its only owned by various owners at different
times of history. But it is recorded for life on the Internet.

So before you get that blog begin a keyword strategy for your special niche.
You must ask yourself these questions.

What kind of niche are you going after?
What Are You Going To Name Your Blog?
What type of content will you be displaying?
What type of message are you delivering?

So copy and paste these questions on your notepad? Answer each one of them. Now take those
answers and start juggling them around. We answered the questions and juggled them around a bit
and here's what we came up with.

Lets say we have chosen a niche about spices.Spices from around the world. Spices used for making and cooking food. Spices used for making
candles, perfume, candies, potpourri, etc.

These are our answers, what are yours?

What kind of niche are you going after? Spices of the world.
What Are You Going To Name Your Blog? TheSpiceRack.com
What type of content will you be displaying? Images of Spices, description and uses of spices.
What type of message are you delivering? Valuable info about different types of spices and the uses
for them. Different types of products used with these spices.

Our keyword list. These are just a start to use as an example.

spices used for perfume
spices of the world
the spice rack
uses for spices
spices used for cooking
food spices

So we have found 3 - 5 hot keywords that we're going to use through out our blog. This keyword
strategy should be designed around the following:

Custom Domain Name
Meta Descriptions
Page Titles
Headings
Content Within the Article

In order to start a keyword strategy you need tools to find your niche keywords. We are going to
use several different kinds FREE and PAID. We will list the various keyword search tools we use.

Don't tell anyone I'm SHARING with you the blueprint for success. They might want to shoot me for letting out their secrets.

We used this method for developing our reference site The POWER of Like.
It was created on July 16th, 2011. On Aug 4th, 2011 Google gave it a PageRank of 2.
It was less then 20 days old.

The second step in building a blog. Blogspot URL address versus a custom domain.

So you decided your going to become a blogger, your going to write about something your passionate about like books, makeup, clothing, photos, etc.

You've gotten really great at this writing stuff. Your starting to build a reputation over the Internet. But your blog just has a Google blogspot URL address. We think if your serious about blogging and your starting to acquire a fan base a custom domain is a must. Why would you want to give Google credit for all your inspirations and hard work.

We recommend acquiring a custom domain name for $10.00 a year before you start posting on your blog.

Reasons behind this theory are.

Each post has a recorded name.

Lets say your domain name is The Spice Rack & your blogspot URL address is

thespicerack.blogspot.com

Lets say you have wrote 3 post about the spice called turmeric, allspice, and cloves.
Here's your blog post addresses.

thespicerack.blogspot.com/turmeric
thespicerack.blogspot.com/allspice
thespicerack.blogspot.com/cloves

The minute you change to a custom domain all the above blogspot addresses are null and void. And anyone searching for them will receive a

404. That's an error. The requested URL/was not found on this server.

With your new custom domain name thespicerack.com
your blog post URLs will be:

thespicerack.com/turmeric
thespicerack.com/allspice
thespicerack.com/cloves

So now you can see the blog post URL addresses are completely different.

Why would you want a custom domain name?
Why wouldn't you? For one;

you can increase name recognition for yourself and brand
makes it easy for users to remember your URL address
protects your blog investment from failure of your ISP
SEO and backlink efforts are for your custom domain and not Google blogspot

Where do I go to get a custom domain just for a blogger blog?

OK. Your signed up for a FREE Google blogger account. When you sign in this is what you should see a menu on your left hand side.

This is what you should see. Click on settings link. Then click the Basic settings.

You should see your blogspot address. Right down below it is a link for adding a custom domain. Click on Add a Custom Domain. Have a credit card ready. You will be taken to Google checkout. If you have never used it before you will have to fill out some information.

Google uses GO Daddy to purchase custom domains. The purchase is done through Google Checkout. Really easy. No hosting plan either. Google offers hosting for their blogspot blogs. That is why its best to purchase through Google blogspot platform. Saves you big bucks. Yeah!

No you have a custom domain name that you can brand for your own. Now you can start building a backlink seo program to gain recognition for your blog. That is another blog post for us, so stay tuned because we will be talking about that in future blog post.

Your Blog Design Says Everything About You!

The first step in building a blog is the design.

OK. You just signed up for an account for a free blog using Googles Free Blogger.

Before you get in a big hurry to punch out your new blog. Take a moment to think about what you want it to look like.

Modern. Grunge. Sophisticated. Professional.

A little bit of consideration should be taken into the blog design before you start adding followers, text, images, and videos.

It should be fresh, fully functional. Directive.

It drives me crazy being on someones blog with no direction, and I can't find what I'm looking for. A totally dysfunctional blog. Boring.

For me; the biggest turn off to reading someone blog is poor blog design. I couldn't care less what they had on there blog for reading content if the blog design annoys the hell out of me.

Get me the hell out of here I say to myself. So you definitely don't want to drive viewers away with a GOD awful blog design.

We have found several great sites that offer free and paid Blogger Templates.

Personally I love the challenge of designing my own blog template. We designed Blogger Addi with
Artisteer Web Software. It cost us $59.00. But it was so WORTH it. Artisteer offers so much versatility when it comes to blog design. Wide templates. Any color under the sun. Gradients. Textures. Shadowing. Glares. I could go on and on about it. I love using Artisteer.

BTemplates has FREE blogger templates. You can choose from 2,3,4 columns. They offer different styles, slider bars, sharing tools widget and video widget. You can add Google AdSense. All you have to do is download the blog template into blogger blogspot.

Blogger Template Blogs offers pretty much the same templates, columns choices, and video widgets, or slide bar widgets. You can download the templates from their site.

Really simple download steps.
Log in to your account. Look at the Menu to the left it should look like this.

1. Click on Templates.

2. Scroll down to the very bottom. Click on Backup/Restore Template.

3. Download your original template or save a copy. Click the Browse button and upload your new template.
Your template should be on your desktop where you downloaded it to from BTemplate or Blogger Template Blog.
