The rotator cuff consists of the four muscles and their tendons that help to keep your shoulder joint in place. Given the complexity of this arrangement and the amount of stress we put on the shoulder it is not surprising that as we get older things can go wrong.

The first sign that you may be suffering from arotator cuff injury is pain in the shoulder joint. If the pain is not too severe with no loss of strength and goes away after 2 to 3 days using self-help remedies such as pain-killers, then the chances are you have rotator cuff inflammation. If the pain does not go after a couple of days and you have a reduction in strength and/or range of movement then it may be something more serious such as tendonitis or impingement. A good friend of mine has a beautiful bungalow in a sleepy little village in Lincolnshire. He always had a dream of the picture-perfect home with a white picket fence. If you are not sure if you're overweight then an easy way to check this is to find your body fat index or body mass index (BMI).

Body fat index is calculated by taking your weight in kg/(height in m) squared.

For example if you weigh 80kg and your height is 1.82m then your Body fat Index or BMI would be:

80/(1.82*1.82)= 24.

This is my body fat index (BMI) which is just in the healthy range of 18 to 25!

I recently wanted to buy a set of hair straighteners for a friend. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the number of different makes and types in the Argos catalogue.

I came across an interesting new search engine recently: YzooSearch.com

The idea behind it seems to be that most web users will only be interested in the first page of results from any search engine as these are usually the most relevant.

YzooSearch.com supports this by combining the output from a number of the top search engines such as Google, Yahoo , AOL etc to give the most pertinent results. Hence they describe themselves as the Unofficial MetaCrawler.

Another useful facility is the Latest-Search button. This allows anyone to see what other users are searching for in real-time. If you do a search and then immediately click on '15 Latest Searches' you then get to see your search added to the list.

It may not be as accurate as Google but Yzoosearch.com is a lot more fun!

Wesley Snipes faces jail term

Wesley Snipes has been scentenced to 3 years in prison for repeatedly failing to file his tax returns for the last five years. The Hollywood actor has requested he be allowed to serve his three-year prison sentence at a facility near his New Jersey home.

The 'Blade' actor was handed the term by Florida judge William Terrell Hodges.His legal team have asked the judge and prison officials to house him in a federal prison as close to his home as possible. The Court System has vowed to accommodate his wishes.

American Express-That Will Not Do Nicely!

Twice in the space of 4 months I have sent a cheque to clear my American Express card and twice they have not received the cheque.

Either my postman is a thief (which I hope not) or Amex don't know what they are doing.

Is The First Time Always The Best Time?

Leaving aside the more personal aspects to this question(!), am I the only one who always finds that the first time is the best time?

Whenever I go to a holiday destination, whether home or abroad, the first time around the beach was always prettier, the sun was always stronger and the sea was always bluer.

At a restaurant the first time around the food was always tastier, the waiters more attentive, and table always more intimate.

Why is this-does this just happen to me? If other people feel this way is there a psychological explanation? This keeps on happening to me and I don't know why. Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Aircraft Museum In Kent

On the way back from a weekend by the sea-side in beautiful Hastings I came across a road-sign saying aircraft museum.

Having been a bit of an aircraft spotter in my childhood I turned the car around and headed back for a look.

I'm glad I did!

Brenzett Aeronautical Museum is a unique collection of wartime equipment, remains recovered from aircraft crash sites and memorabilia collected and donated to the Museum since it's formation in 1972.

The Museum Trust is non-profit making with all proceeds used to expand and improve the museum.

Although not a large site there is much to delight the aircraft enthusiast. There are two of the earliest jet-aircraft on display: a Canberra bomber and a twin-tail Vampire fighter. The Museum has one of the largest Bomb Disposal equipment displays in the UK as well as an actual Dambuster Bomb!

A very kind gentleman ( I think may have been the Caretaker Ray Brignall) took time to show me around with a look inside the Canberra bomber and this really made my day.

They often have Country Shows in the summer, the next one on 18th and 19th August, with Horses, Tractors, Steam Engines, Autojumble, Military and Motor Vehicles.

If you or your children have any interest in aircraft you are sure to have a great day out.

In the last 30 days we have added over 50 new bloggers. Many or most of these , I am proud to say (as I am one myself!) are Brit-bloggers.

I really should say Brit only as I can hardly call myself a blogger! My postings are so sporadic it is embarrassing, especially as I have this website. I could say my lack of postings are down to having a full-time job but I know most of you must be in the same position, and many of you will have kids.

What's my excuse? I really don't know. I have opinions on many subjects so in theory should have much to say but I am one of those annoying people who is normally so sure of his own viewpoint that I can't be bothered to argue with any one else. (Oh look-some personal information! You'll probably have to wait a year for some more!)

It is true that I am a very private person and don't enjoy discussing my personal life with others. This does mean I am a natural listener. I am also the best person I know for keeping a secret. You'd be amazed what I know.

From time to time we occasionally get links from commercial websites. As this is a website for bloggers, strictly-speaking, these links should be deleted.

Most of the time they are, but I reserve the right to leave them in place if they are interesting or non-offensive, or to be honest if they just sneak in by only taking a single block!

In a way this is a compliment and a vote of confidence (though not that much as the blocks are free!). As the page fills up and blocks become scarce we will no doubt cast a more discriminating eye. But for the moment we will allow the odd one or two to slip through.

In the great scheme of things this traffic is tiny but to me this is very welcome and a step in the right direction. What is even more encouraging is that so many of the latest bloggers are British.

If you get a chance please link back to us in your blogs as the more links there are the higher we will rank in the search engines. At the moment for the search term 'bloggers' on http://msn.co.uk we rank on the first page out of over ONE million results. Imagine if this was page 1 of Google!

The more hits we get the more hits you get so any efforts that help us will indirectly help you.

101 Bloggers!

Bloggers Home Page now has over one hundred bloggers-101 to be exact. Those of you who have been with us since the start should have enjoyed quite a few hits; some have had over 2000.

Bloggers familiar with the site may be aware that the free blog ads are meant to be deleted after 30 days (all of course are welcome to immediately resubmit). However, it has to be said that if this policy was rigorously enforced there would not be many bloggers left on the page!

Bloggers Home Page was originally set up as a bloggers alternative to the highly successful Million Dollar HomePage, with yes it has to be said, the aim of making a few dollars as well.

These dollars have not materialised! Instead a few hundred dollars(UK Pounds) have been spent in the pursuit of (what I believe to be) the best million-dollar pixel site for bloggers on the web. I do have one overriding ambition for this website though, and that is to completely fill the page with blog ads.

I therefore call upon you my blogging friends to recommend Bloggers Home Page to any other bloggers who you know, or to mention us in any of your posts, or to add the site to your links section. If any of you are on Myspace then a mention in a bulletin notice would be very welcome.

I do appreciate your help with this as I imagine most of you are busy people with lives outside of the world of blogging.
