2014

We're coming up on the 5th Anniversary of when Plowing Mud Forever started recording demos for our album. It's been about 9 months since the studio versions of those tracks received their final touches. What should we do next?

We made some major progress on the album recording this weekend, and I don't just mean we came up with 5 more album titles.

noreply@blogger.com (Ro-Beast Rollie) — Mon, 29 Nov 2010 21:38:00 +0000

Yeah, we're still not finished with our album. Even if we finished the recording today, we'd still have the worst obstacle of all--deciding on the album title. We currently have 107 possible titles compiled on our "PMF Untitled LP" Google Doc. So far.

Guillotine of Fire, the 6-song EP we recorded a few years back was no piece of cake to title either. I (me, Rollie, Keymaster of Goser) found this in one of my notebooks in my storage unit. It was just a slice of our brainstorming during the recording session. Behold, the secrets of PMF:

Here's what Archaeologists have learned studying this artifact:

There were 5 members of the band then, but only 4 different styles of handwriting on the page. Wally was clearly too cool for writing things himself.
I didn't know how to spell "Pigeons."
We like animals. Sort of.
We retracted "Sweep the Leg" and "Fiberglass Jaw" before infringing upon other bands.
The Drummer was so into "Maquis" that he felt the need to write out the definition and circle it.
"Guillotine of Fire" isn't even on there, so we must've been hornswoggled at the printer's.

Kirk recently guest co-hosted the second episode of Ralph Santiago's new podcast, the RS3FEED. Here it is:

If you arrived at this website after hearing it referred to on the podcast itself, well then enjoy the feedback loop.

As for an update on the progress of Plowing Mud Forever's current album, well, we're just not telling yet. Stuff is happening, and we'll leave it there.

It has been a while, huh? Let's start with this video:

I'm not sure exactly where the "as-it-happens" footage is going to get uploaded because I've never sent video from my phone to the Internets, but you may want to become our fan on Facebook just in case that becomes the repository.

While you wait for the initial Friday onslaught of footage, please enjoy some videos from the holiday show:

And here are some behind the scenes shots from our Babyhole performance on February 16th (that we completely forgot to promote):

"Behind the scenes" means no faces, obviously.

Big! Show! Tonight! Live! Hoboken! New! Jersey! Stop! By!

If you don't make it, here's what you'll be missing:

(if you don't see the youtube video, click on "view original post")

You'll also be missing some teeth next time we see you!

One week from today...

noreply@blogger.com (Ro-Beast Rollie) — Fri, 04 Dec 2009 14:00:00 +0000

...we'll be playing a holiday show at our Hoboken practice space with lots and lots of special guests.

Warming things up is our good friend Andy Fuckin' Meagher. He's in town for his final senior recital before officially becoming a Doctor of Organs (pipe organs, that is), and will be showing off some of skills for us. If we're good boys and girls, we'll get to hear a good mix of classical tunes, holiday music, and gangsta rap!

Next up is the funniest man not in show business, the best music critic in history, and the greatest criminal mind of our time, Mark Prindle. He's bringing his wife Brenda, and drummer Jimmy Laakso and assist with the fancy rock stylings and nimble jump kicks. Just like the Rockettes!

Then it's the 1-2 punch from the most hated bands in Hudson County, Plowing Mud Forever and Torrential Downpour. Actually it will less of a 1-2 punch and more of a 3/4 or 7/8 time signature. Because we're outlaws!

Also performing all night will be BEER! Drink it! Norm's doing the lights so you can see the BEER! Here's a flyer! IT'S SO EXTREME THAT IT'S MORE THAN WORDS!!!!!!!!

There is going to be an awesome PMF show coming up in 4 weeks. Many, many special guests. Details will be announced soon.

This won't not be one to not miss!

noreply@blogger.com (Kirk Howle) — Mon, 26 Oct 2009 02:30:00 +0000

Kirk's wife recorded the footage of PMF playing their Babyhole show, and Kirk refused to hand the footage over to Rollie and his beard. Instead, Kirk and his beardless face decided to record and edit their own episode of Albumbling. An in-depth discussion of the band's performance, with visual aids, takes place. In your face.

I'm a Driver, I'm a Winner

noreply@blogger.com (Ro-Beast Rollie) — Wed, 21 Oct 2009 21:25:00 +0000

We played our second Babyhole Comedy Show last night at the Lamp Post in Jersey City. Melissa Surach, the usual host, was allegedly out of the country (possibly just stalking Councilman Steven Fulop) so PMF Superfan Ralph Santiago took over emceeing duties. Our best performances seem to always be hometown shows, and we are very appreciative that Melissa keeps asking us back to Babyhole. I think I'm getting a little teary eyed.

Anyway, after a long night of playing, driving, and unloading equipment, I reflected on the night in yet another PMF Albumbling episode:

Once the Howle Productions Team comes up with show footage, we'll make with it.

I Think That I Can Learn

noreply@blogger.com (Ro-Beast Rollie) — Thu, 15 Oct 2009 20:29:00 +0000

We're pretty weird when the camera is on. We're even weirder when we don't realize we're being recorded. Episode 7 is what happened when PMF gets drunk and forgets to turn off the tape recorder after rehearsal. Most of the footage is stuff that didn't fit in any other episodes, so that makes it even more special. Yes, that kind of special.

IT'S ALL ON TAPE!

It's Magic!

noreply@blogger.com (Ro-Beast Rollie) — Thu, 08 Oct 2009 02:58:00 +0000

This PMF Albumbling Episode is so awesome that Sony bought ad space for it!

(Ok, not really. I put some music in the video owned by Sony that they automatically detected which gives them the right to throw ads all around the video... oh well. Fair trade, I guess.)

Stay tuned for more bullshit about another new song.

EPISODE 5!
