The Amazing Benefits of Vitamin C: A Vital Nutrient for Optimal Health

Introduction: Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health and well-being. It is a water-soluble vitamin that cannot be produced by the human body, which means it must be obtained through diet or supplementation.

Renowned for its immune-boosting properties, vitamin C offers a wide range of benefits that go far beyond its ability to fight off the common cold. In this article, we will explore the numerous advantages that vitamin C provides and why it should be an integral part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Strong Immune System: Vitamin C is renowned for its immune-boosting properties. It enhances the production of white blood cells, which are essential for fighting off infections and diseases. Moreover, it supports the function of immune cells and strengthens the body’s natural defense mechanisms. Adequate vitamin C intake can reduce the duration and severity of colds and flu, making it a vital nutrient for maintaining a robust immune system.

Powerful Antioxidant: As a potent antioxidant, vitamin C helps protect the body against harmful free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis. By neutralizing these free radicals, vitamin C helps to reduce the risk of oxidative stress and promotes cellular health.

Collagen Production and Skin Health: Collagen is a protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and integrity of our skin, bones, and joints. Vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, which helps to support skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and promote wound healing. It also assists in the synthesis of other connective tissues, contributing to overall joint health and mobility.

Enhanced Iron Absorption: Iron is an essential mineral required for the production of red blood cells and the transportation of oxygen throughout the body. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption from plant-based sources (non-heme iron), which is particularly important for individuals following a vegetarian or vegan diet. Combining vitamin C-rich foods with iron-rich foods can optimize iron absorption and prevent iron deficiency anemia.

Cardiovascular Health: Vitamin C plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system. It supports the production of collagen, which helps to strengthen blood vessels, reducing the risk of conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease. Additionally, vitamin C’s antioxidant properties help prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, reducing the likelihood of plaque formation in the arteries

Eye Health: Vitamin C is associated with a lower risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts, two common eye conditions that can lead to vision impairment and blindness. As an antioxidant, vitamin C protects the eyes against oxidative stress and damage caused by harmful UV radiation and free radicals.

Stress Reduction: Chronic stress can deplete vitamin C levels in the body. Adequate vitamin C intake helps support the adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing stress hormones such as cortisol. By maintaining optimal levels of vitamin C during stressful periods, individuals may experience reduced stress levels and improved overall well-being.

Conclusion: From bolstering the immune system and supporting collagen production to acting as a potent antioxidant, vitamin C offers an array of incredible health benefits. Its role extends far beyond preventing the common cold, with benefits that span cardiovascular health, skin integrity, eye health, and stress reduction. Ensuring an adequate intake of vitamin C through a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables or through supplementation is key to reaping the numerous advantages this powerful nutrient provides. Embrace the benefits of vitamin C and empower your body to thrive with optimal health and vitality.

If you are not currently taking Vitamin C as a supplement, the article above shares several reasons you might find worthy of adding a quality Vitamin C supplement to your daily regimen.

A great source for finding high quality supplements can be found at: https://pws.shaklee.com/dlp At that website click on the Nutrition tab. At the dropdown click on: Vitamins & Minerals. Scroll to the second row to find Shaklee’s Sustained Release Vita-C 500.

The post The Amazing Benefits of Vitamin C first appeared on .

Now that cooler weather is setting in, here in the Eastern United States, it’s time to start thinking about what usually comes with winter weather… and for many of us it’s a COLD. Sniffling, sneezing, runny noses and all that stuff that makes you feel miserable.

What can you or I do to keep from suffering with such miseries this coming winter? My answer… Take Shaklee’s NutriFeron daily. Last winter I took two caplets of NutriFeron every morning and I managed to go the whole winter with NO colds. Also, NO flu. Does that mean it will be the same for you? I don’t know that but the suggestion that was made to me was… try it and see. I liked the results from LAST winter and today I just ordered more for this coming season of cold weather.

This is the only dietary supplement in the United States created by the discoverer of interferon, world-renowned immunologist Dr. Yasuhiko Kojima, who spent decades screening hundreds of botanicals to identify natural interferon boosters. It provides specialized daily support to help maintain healthy immune function.

Get yours today. Go to: https://pws.shaklee.com/dlp

When you get to my online store, Click the Tab for Nutrition. When that page appears, scroll down to + Immunity where you’ll find NutriFeron. While you’re there, take a look around at all the other exceptional products.

Thanks for checking out my page.

If you didn’t know, I am a “reader.” This week, I am reading “The ONE Thing” by Gary Keller. The subtitle goes… The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS.

The book goes to the heart of the challenge many of us have
in our quest to get too many things done at the same time. Gary says we need to
prune our list down to that “one thing” that, when accomplished, will move the
needle forward the most. So often we attempt to do that but move backwards more
than forward as we get too many things on our plate and none of them really get
their just due.

If you find that you’re not getting where you want to go
quickly enough… maybe you should get yourself a copy of the book and read it…
and then implement his tactics to move YOUR needle ahead.

You can find copies at Amazon.com

The post My Book of the Week first appeared on .

If you didn’t know it already, I am a HUGE fan of Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich”.
I was challenged to read chapter 9 of this book for 30 days. My coach, who made that challenge, said that if I would do that… I would never be the same again… and he was right.

I would invite you to take up that challenge and read chapter 9 for 30 days. Especially if you find yourself NOT getting where you want to be in life.
Today’s specific point comes from a list of 8 things the author says that Persistence, the subject of chapter nine, is based on and that is: DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE.

Knowing what you want is the first and, perhaps, the most important step toward the development of persistence. A strong motive forces you to surmount many difficulties.

So, do you know what you REALLY want? Do you Really? Can you tell me what it is in one short sentence? Is it SPECIFIC? Is it Defined? Do you have a plan to get it?

Do you see where I’m headed here?

Tony Robbins would ask to see your list of GOALS.

So would I.

You DO have such a list, don’t you?

If you have never read Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich” you are welcome to download a copy from my website by clicking the following link: http://www.daveylee.com/books/thinkgrowrich.pdf

The post Do YOU Have Definiteness of Purpose in YOUR Life? first appeared on .

But you struggle with the “selling” part?

It can be discouraging, and this where so many entrepreneurs get STUCK and stop…

So when I heard about the guy who sold $3 Million in 90 minutes by doing ONE presentation, and became the world’s highest-paid speaker, I just knew I had to find out more…

Talk about a SKILL, right?

When I realized he was selling his SECRETS on how to become an incredible speaker and seller, using the same process and script that he uses to sell MILLIONS with one speech – I knew I wanted to get in on it!

And I wanted to make sure to share it with you, too…

This is the link I used where he was selling his ‘speaking & selling’ secrets… https://tinyurl.com/yc4up9ls and you can use it too!

This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job.

Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did wht Anybody could have done.

It’s a cute little story and if I’m correct… you most likely found yourself thinking of Somebody who… (fill in the blanks) in your life’s work.

We all have responsibilities and carrying them out is simply NOT in Everyone’s playbook. Don’t be a Nobody and think Somebody else will do what you’re supposed to do.
