I try and keep a scheduled time in mind so that I can prepare myself mentally for it. I try to blog at lunch on Wednesday, so usually lunch on Tuesday I’m thinking about what I’m going to write the next day, and Wednesday morning, I’m mulling my thoughts until the time comes. I find that if I don’t give myself a day to think about my blog, it feels forced when I finally sit down to do it.

While I agree with Smitty and Chalupa - you should always back up before upgrading - I didn’t have any trouble at all.

K - I upgraded my blog and bloggingamigos in less than two minutes. I’ve never seen upgrades like wordpress’s before… it’s always a breeze. (especially when you remember to copy over all of the files.) =)

My rule of thumb: Use categories for the organizational hierarchy, and tags to label the snot out of your content.

Generally, content will fall into one or two main areas/categories. Then, you can associate the content using labels…

Think of your users. Use categories to help them navigate through a folder structure, and labels to help them browse a cloud. Take a look at the organization of this site as an example.

I agree whole heartedly, Flickr is a fantastic service and there’s no reason to reinvent the wheel. Even their “pro” service is ridiculously cheap. Seriously, you can’t beat it!
