One of the most important things about producing quality is to make sure that it is free from errors every time. Producing error free copy is our job, making a mistake in what we wrote would be like an accountant making a mistake in their calculations.

With Google becoming increasingly stringent in what they consider to be good quality work mistakes are not forgiven as easily as they once were. Too many errors could be very costly to an SEO campaign, meaning SEO copywriters should be extra careful when it comes to checking their work.

Double Check Keywords and Links

When using specified keywords in content it can be easy to use the wrong keyword, especially when using keywords that make little sense. Instead it is easy for your mind to assume something that makes more sense and then continue with that. I manage to all but overcome this problem by copying and pasting the specified keywords at the top of the page and check that against what I have used in the copy. Remember also to check any hyperlinks you have used because windows will often suggest a slightly different URL to be used in the link.

Don’t Rely On Squiggly Lines

The Microsoft Word spell and grammar check can be a very useful tool. It is also something that can encourage laziness. (Their, there – Where, wear) are just a couple of examples of when you have to check manually. While it is something that is obvious to us writers, we may still be tempted to skim over words rather than actually reading them which can cause us to miss even the most obvious of errors.

Proof Tomorrow

If it’s been a long day then your brain may well have turned into pea soup when it comes to proofing everything. Tired eyes can struggle to focus on the screen and the mind can be slow to recognise an error even when you are looking directly at it. If I am at the end of a long day and feel as though I have just been through an SAS training then, if deadlines permit, I’ll just proof it the next day. By leaving it until the next day I will make sure that I check everything when I am fresh again in the morning. When proofing in the morning I will often find things that I may otherwise have missed, then I can get on with writing new content again, which could also be proofed the next day.

Make It Interesting and Informative

Good quality SEO copy should not only be liked by Google and other search engines, but also by the reader. Good quality articles are more likely to have your backlinks on other sites, quality press releases are more likely to be picked up and your web copy should always be of the very highest standards you can achieve. Read your copy through and if you feel it is not interesting to the reader, it needs more work done to it.

If you are an SEO copywriter and you wish to maintain high standards at all times then the above checks can help you to maintain that quality. Just go through your checklist each and every time and you should have happy clients every time you deliver a job.

Now that Google Panda has arrived, they need for quality copy is greater than ever before. Apple Copywriting will have the copywriting services that deliver the quality content you need.
