Our founder Jay Brewer was featured in Business Week talking about Nespresso.

Will U.S. consumers go for Nespresso's snob appeal? Keurig, the current U.S. market leader, nearly doubled its sales last year with a more mass-market approach. Its replacement capsules, known as K-cups, are sold in supermarkets and discount stores, and include established U.S. brands such as Celestial Seasonings and Newman's Own. "Nespresso is offering a high-end espresso. I don't know how far that market goes," says Jay Brewer, editor of SingleServeCoffee.com, a Boston-based online newsletter that covers the business.

Blog To A Specific Niche

In the spring of 2004, Jay Brewer launched a blog dedicated to an extremely specific subject: coffee makers that make only one cup of coffee at a time. Within a month, traffic doubled. Within two, it doubled again, and companies were asking to advertise on the site. The advertisers knew what Brewer had suspected: Readers who care enough to read about a very particular topic are likely to click on ads about that topic.
"Blogs that are about specific topics generate traffic from people who are either really interested in the topic or doing research," says Jay Brewer, CEO of Blogpire (www.blogpire.com), which operates subject-specific blogs on topics such as shaving equipment and GPS receivers, in addition to the aforementioned single-serve coffee makers.

Furthermore, the more specific the subject, the less competition it will face from other Web sites. A Google search for "dogs" yields about 278 million results. A Google search for "grooming products for Golden Retrievers" yields one result.
To bolster the revenue you receive from general advertising and affiliate programs, you can seek out individual advertisers whose products you might be featuring on your blog. While giant corporations aren't likely to advertise on your little Web site, their partners might. "Find the PR person's name and send them a note," Brewer says. "And don't dream too big. You don't have to have Philips or Sony as an advertiser. You can have an online site that sells products from Philips and Sony."

There'll always be a next best thing, but it's truly about understanding a few key features to find what works best for you. Then you can get on with it and have fun!

(PRWEB) June 3, 2008 -- Every day, the market is increasingly crammed with digital cameras, and it can boggle the mind to figure out which one to buy, and how to use it. Should you buy based on megapixels? How much is enough zoom? Should you invest in a digital SLR, or would a smaller, point and shoot camera be more than enough? And, once you've taken the picture, what's the best way to store, edit, print or otherwise display it?

Blogpire Productions is happy to introduce Picture Snob to help you answer just these questions. Packed with real-world advice from photographers and camera nuts, Picture Snob offers product reviews, industry news and tips and tricks on everything from cameras, digital frames, printers and scanners to software, digital printing services and photo sharing services

"People get overwhelmed by all the options in digital photography, and rightfully so," says Susan Moriarty, the brains behind Picture Snob. "There'll always be a next best thing, but it's truly about understanding a few key features to find what works best for you. Then you can get on with it and have fun!"

She adds, "Once you've gotten comfortable with the digital camera, there are the issues of storage and display. We're still evolving there -- digital photo frames, web-based sharing and custom publishing are just the first of many offerings to come."

"Digital photography is entertaining. How many times have you seen someone take a picture and then folks crowd around to laugh and interact right then and there, maybe do a second take or another funny face? Photography has become an experience for all involved. After the initial investment in a digital camera, you are free to experiment, create and play at no added expense. The options are truly endless."

About PictureSnob.com:
Picture Snob is dedicated to making your digital photo life a success. Navigating the busy world of digital cameras and photo software can be overwhelming, and then to figure out the best way to share and display your photos -- it's enough to make anyone shutter. At Picture Snob we provide information and reviews on the most proven digital photography products, latest innovations and countless tips and tricks that will help you get the most out of your digital photo life.

(PRWEB) May 13, 2008 -- As more and more novelty and gourmet candy hits the market, it can be increasingly difficult to decide which confections will tickle your fancy, and which are sugar-coated duds. Candy Snob understands that candy can be more than a foil-wrapped treat to boost your blood sugar -- it can be a sensuous experience, the nougaty highlight of your day, the caramel apple of your eye. The blog will help readers rekindle their love affair with sugary treats, with an eye toward the confections of the past as well as a nod toward the future.

Blogpire Productions has the sweet pleasure of introducing Candy Snob to its growing list of consumer-oriented weblogs.
For the health conscious, Candy Snob will tell you about healthy candy products packed with natural ingredients. The blog will keep readers posted on the new treats about to hit the market, and will be reviewing new and upcoming candy treats.

"Chocolate is not unlike wine in that each piece comes with its own distinct tastes," added Noel Wallace, Candy Snob editor. "We're hoping to explain these nuances in a way that is understandable so you can get the best candy experience possible."

As the DIY "Do-It-Yourself" revolution continues, the demand for quality tools is higher than ever. And with so many tools out there, it is difficult, not to mention intimidating, to go to a store and find the one that is right for you.

Blogpire Productions is pleased to announce the addition of Tool Snob to its growing list of consumer-oriented weblogs. "With the rise of stores like Home Depot and Lowes, more and more people are tackling their renovations themselves, and having the right tool on hand can really speed up your project and save you money." says Doug Mahoney, editor of Tool Snob. "As a homeowner and a tradesman, I found that there were no reliable sites out there that offered a good combination of tool news as well as information on the latest building materials."

About ToolSnob.com:
The staff of Tool Snob has a wide range of experience using tools; we've done carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, bricklaying, tiling, plastering, blacksmithing, and auto repair. And as far as the actual tools go, we've used them all; Makita, Bosch, Ridgid, Hitachi, Metabo, Craftsman, Black & Decker, Bostitch, DeWalt, Freud, and on and on. We've learned the hard way. Using the right power tool for the right job isn't just a cliché, it's a must.

SuperCoolPets.com features a unique combo of news and reviews of quality pet products for the pet owner - cat and dog pet products, pet gadgets, pet food, and pet news.

April 30, 2007 -- More than 60% of American households own a pet, and 45% have more than one. In 2006 over $38 billion was spent on our pets in the United States.

"Our pets have become cherished members of the family," says Ricki Widlak, editor of Super Cool Pets "People form strong bonds with their pets. They provide love and companionship for us all--singles, couples, children and empty nesters." It is no wonder companies are marketing the latest and greatest products for pets. With so many products and so much information out there, it is very time-consuming for pet owners to wade through all the merchandise available to determine what products they want and what are best for their pets.

Blogpire Productions is pleased to announce the addition of Super Cool Pets to its growing list of weblog titles. Blogpire Productions started SuperCoolPets.com to help other pet owners find the pet products they really need, to help them stay away from the products that they don't, and to point out cool stuff along the way. "When I brought home my Golden Retriever puppies three years ago, I was surprised at how the pet industry had grown since I had last owned dogs and cats in the 90's" says Ricki Widlak, editor of SuperCoolPets.com. "There were so many products I wish I had known about sooner, which would have greatly helped us as we integrated our new puppies into our family. With Super Cool Pets, I would like to share all my new findings about pet products and merchandise with others all in one place."

About SuperCoolPets.com:
As a lifetime animal lover and pet-owner, Ricki, editor of Super Cool Pets has quickly become well versed in all the pet products available on the Web. She is intent on finding the most fun and innovative pet products on the market. Searching for the best pet bedding, food, accessories, toys, and health aides doesn't have to be a chore; it can be a blast.

About the writer of SuperCoolPets.com:
Ricki Widlak has shared her life with many pets. She writes from the viewpoint of a pet owner with the heart of a pet lover. She lives in Florida with her husband John; their twin Golden Retriever girls, Jessie and Molly; and three cockatiels, Java, Maui and Tiki; and still misses the late Frank the cat. Ricki also has three grand-kitties -- Fat Tony, Ariel, and Ziggy. She is always on the lookout for items to keep pets safe, happy and healthy, whether at home, outdoors, or on the road.

SuperCoolBaby.com features a unique combo of news and reviews of baby products from the perspective of a new mom and dad.

(PRWEB) October 17, 2006 -- With the population in the United States about to top 300 million this month, more and more companies are marketing the latest and greatest products for babies. With so much information out there, it's hard to wade through all the merchandise available to determine what parents want for their baby and what is best for them. "Even before our son was born, we were frustrated by the dizzying array of products with no clear advice about what we really needed," says Peter Kovacs, co-editor of SuperCoolBaby.com. "What the Web was missing was a place to find what you really need to buy for your baby, and what baby products are more interesting and cool for you and your child."

Blogpire Productions is pleased to announce the addition of SuperCoolBaby.com to its growing list of weblog titles. Blogpire Productions started SuperCoolBaby.com to help other parents find the products they really need, to help them stay away from the products that they don't, and to point out cool stuff along the way. "When I gave birth to my son earlier this year, I was so overwhelmed with all the products for babies," says Laura Kovacs, co-editor of SuperCoolBaby.com. "After I got settled in with my son, I began researching what I wanted to buy for him. With Super Cool Baby, we'll be able to share all of our great finds in one place."

About SuperCoolBaby.com:
As new parents, the staff at Super Cool Baby has quickly become well versed in all the baby products available on the Web. They are interested in finding the most fun and innovative baby products on the market.

About the writers of SuperCoolBaby.com:
Laura and Peter Kovacs are a married couple who have recently celebrated the birth of their first child, Anderson.
About BlogPire

At the BlogPire, we’re passionate about products. Cool products, well-designed products, useful products, products that work well, products that make us happy...you get the idea. Our authors are authorities on the niches they cover – from coffee to couture, GPS to gaming, t-shirts to tools. But we’re consumers first, which is what keeps our savvy, influential product-oriented audiences growing and coming back for more.

Please visit http://www.blogpire.com for our complete list of current titles and urls. The BlogPire reaches millions of unique readers every month. In brand-speak, this means we provide the reach of larger media, while delivering an engaged, highly targeted, relevant audience who is looking to buy. We have over 30 national and regional advertisers, we have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe and NewsNow.com, and we have been recognized in Feedster’s Top 500 Blogs. BlogPire’s founder, Jay Brewer, is a frequent thought leader on both coffee and blogging.

Our readership is made up of hip, young (18-34), informed consumers - split evenly between males and females. Each month, the BlogPire receives over 600,000 page views of targeted, repeat traffic, and has over 11,000 RSS subscriptions. During the peak shopping months traffic jumps up to over 1.2 million page views. Our readers make well-informed purchase decisions, and they do buy.
