I think I found one that you might like, it's called Stickies and you can get it for free. I've been using it for a while now and I love it, it's a great application for a freebee. Some features include, desktop notes which enables you to create a note and leave it fully viewable on the desktop. Along with the quick launch feature the notes will remain on the desktop even after reboot, hide or unhide, collapse notes to the title bar only, name the title bar, and my favorite, alerts. The alert feature enables you to create a note, title it, set an alert time and date. Once set you can check the option to close the note until alert time so when you turn your computer on that day the Stickie will open and sort of dance on the the screen. As I always say, there's no ones word better than your own so check it out for yourself. You can grab a copy here, Stickies

Here's a screenie

With all the people getting laid off, fired, or just quitting, it doesn't seem like it's getting any better. In my opinion employers aren't helping, what I mean by this is I'm noticing a trend from people I've talked too or known. The trend is, yes, they're worried about losing there jobs by way of being laid off or fired but I've also talked to a lot of people who just simply quit their jobs. When I asked them why, they replied, "I got tired of the BS". Some things that were going on are, employers reorganizing job positions and titles, which also involve pay cuts and extra work load. Another tactic is requiring their employees to re-interview for their job positions. What results from this is, there may be someone more suited for your job than you. For someone who's worked at a company for more than I'd say 5 years, this is a HARD KICK in the face and it's not going to heal anytime soon.

The people who have decided to stick with it and suck it up are now having to go see their doctors to get a prescription for an anti-depressant. WTF! People really need to be on drugs to be able to function at their jobs? If you're in this situation what do you do? There's a saying out there that states, "to make a change in your life, you have to make a life changing event". I think I'm on that road now. Not saying that things are going great for me right now but since I saved up some money during my working years I have a little time to think about what I want to do. I've decided to move to another state and give my future a shot there. It's risky I know but here or there it's all the same to me. I have to say though, where I'm going doesn't look to bad, I've already networked with some people there and some things that came out of it are, I could possibly have a wife waiting for me, I know it's kind of funny but we'll see, we managed to find a house to rent for a very reasonable price. My father has been talking with some people and managed to find some opportunities we can engage in as soon as we get there.

I've visited this place once in my life, Las Vegas, as a vacation and now I've decided to go back, take a long deep breathe and try to make things happen. I've got some pictures which I'm planning on uploading soon and I'll upload even more once I get back there. This should be very interesting to say the least, I plan on blogging my progress and uploading pics as time goes on, who knows, this may be an inspiration to other people if I'm successful. Sometimes, you just have to put the brain chatter and fear aside and say to yourself, just do it, you can figure it all out as you go along.

The company informed me that I had two options. I could continue to use the card while the interest rate increased. Or, I could stop using the card and the rate would stay the same until I paid off the balance. I opted out -- stopped using the card and kept the old rate.
It seemed easy in principle. But I forgot that more than two years ago, I had used that card to register at Blockbuster; when I forgot to return a movie, they charged the card! My rate went up instantly and now I'm stuck.

You can read more related articles on Yahoo Finance.

12 Hair Raising Money Tales

Before I answer, a little about me, I've been working in the IT field for about 10 years. I've done jobs from tech support to network admin and learned a whole lot along the way. Anyway, back to the topic. The question is, how do I stay safe on the Internet? Well the best piece of advice I can give is, MAKE SURE TO READ WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO CLICK ON. I've met way too many people who blindly click on pop ups and dialogue messages while surfing. The worst part is they don't bother reading any of it. If you don't read it how do you know you answered it correctly? When a website is trying to get you by throwing a pop up or dialogue box at you, "NO" may not mean NO and the "red X" may be "grayed out" or unavailable. The 2 I hear most often are Anti-virus 2009 and a scary warning message about viruses detected on your system. To tell it to you bluntly, if you ever see these, STOP, read the message and then analyze it. I'm sure you're using an anti-virus program on your computer, the best thing to do is use that to see if you really do have viruses on your system. The Anti-virus 2009 is nothing but a nuisance, I know because I've spent hours removing it and all that it brings. If it turns out you can't avoid clicking something if you ever see these then there's always the fail safe option which is, ALT + F4, which will close all open windows including Internet browsers that have NOT been minimized to the task bar. Make sure all your work is backed up before you use this. For those pop ups that automatically minimize to the task bar and won't allow you to close them, just restart your computer. Make note of the website you went to so you don't go back there again. I know a lot of people don't want to hear that but hey, I'd rather keep my system and information safe than be tempted by some website.

I'm not a professional stock broker by any means but I tell them, very carefully. I've had discussions with them on what a good idea would be for helping to make that money from the stock market. The result of the discussion is, people should get together and pool their resources. I'm not talking about their money but their tools. Me for example, I'm subscribed to the Motley Fool's Income Investor and Motley Fool Options. I love both of these subscriptions, I'm not starting out with much and thankfully I have a lot of patience because I know I'll need it. I also have two brokerage accounts, Scottrade and optionsXpress, there both in good standing. If someone I trusted was interested I'd have no problem sharing these resources if that person is willing to share as well. If you get enough people with different resources and pool them together, well in my opinion, there's no reason why they couldn't make money. I think the biggest issue here is the trust among strangers, once you get passed that it can be very profitable for everyone.

By the way I live in Colorado and have to say, WHAT ABOUT THEM BRONCOS, HOOYA!!! So I've been doing some research online and have come across one common factor. There seems to be a lot of people today trying to make their fortunes online. I have to say some of the programs out there do work and some don't, it takes a lot of time to look through all of it. From my research, here's my thought on a simple approach without a lot of work. Most online business opps will require you to have at least $20 to cash out. There are thousands of sites out there you can sign up with and easily make a quick $20. So my thought is, on a monthly basis sign up with 100 sites and complete the free offers or surveys or whatever you like. Once you make $20 on one site move on to the next one. You do this for one month and you make $2000 that month. HMMM, sounds great, I signed up with a few and made a quick $20, didn't put in much work this month and I'll cash out right around $200, not bad for loafer work.
