Office Closet Declutter | Minimalism Series

Hey guys! I wanted to start some decluttering posts to continue with my minimalism series I started in November on my YouTube channel LaurNmakeup.

To start it off, I'm going to show you before and after pictures of my office/makeup room closet.

BEFORE - top shelf

*Removed magazines, basket, yearbooks, etc.
*Stacked all the extra office supplies in one pile
*Shifted areas of 3 containers

*Put umbrellas in case, tripod next to them - both on top of Halloween kit (originally sitting outside the closet in the way)

*Got rid of things, put in drawers, and shifted around things on top of both drawer units

TADA!!! Loving the finished product!

As you can see, I definitely made a significant dent in the process of purging useless stuff as well as organizing the things I kept in a better way! I'm super proud of the work I did and love going into this functional closet now!!

Disclaimer: I will not tolerate any hateful language towards anyone in the comments section. I am for people and love, not hate. These are merely my thoughts and feelings on this historic day.

This election reminded me of one of those tv shows you...you know, the ones that are really funny because they're so stupid. Except, it didn't really dawn on me that reality was either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump was going to be president by the end of the day until the morning of election day.

I had a terrible night of sleep leading into November 8, 2016. Partly because my boyfriend snores like a train and partly because I was anticipating a historical, pivotal moment in time. I knew either way this election went I wouldn't be happy or proud of the choice I made. I just didn't realize how much it would impact me emotionally and physically.

Side note: I am not divulging who I voted for, but I will say I wasn't a fan either way.

We went to the polls right at 6am because I had a super long day ahead of me and wasn't willing to fight the late crowds. The good news is we were in and out within 20 minutes. The bad news is I felt a pit in my stomach from the moment I voted until this current moment...it hasn't really gone away.

The deed was done and I wore my sticker with pride because this was my first time ever voting and I knew that however this ended up, I did my civic duty and could represent what women fought for for so long. A right that I took for granted and always assumed would never be taken back...until now.

Fast forward to the end of election day. Around 10:30pm, I was getting ready for bed and saw Trump was in the lead by quite a few electoral votes, but remained hopeful since anything could happen and half the country was still yet to be accounted for. I awoke around 2am and checked my phone to see he was still in the lead, again by quite a few, and there were only a couple states left to be accounted for. For some reason, I didn't believe it and thought it would change by the morning, perhaps because I was half asleep.

I woke up around 6:30am and couldn't go back to sleep although I knew I was able to sleep in a little today. I saw a text from my sister on my phone, which I knew couldn't be good news. I literally felt like I woke up from a bad dream, except I had to face reality. I checked Facebook first to confirm for myself and then I saw it - a mad rush of statuses from friends and family declaring Donald Trump as our new president. I've seen the majority on my feed upset about the decision, while I still have a good amount of friends who support him and are thrilled. I am not one to judge or hate, and certainly not one to un-friend someone (both on Facebook and in real life) just because we don't see eye-to-eye on politics. Everyone has their own right to believe in what they want. However, I couldn't seem to get over the overwhelming amount of hate as I scrolled through my newsfeed on and off throughout the day. No matter what race, gender, sexuality, or anything else you are, what makes a person believe it's okay to insult someone else's beliefs? Just because they are not your own doesn't make them less valid and that person less worthy of love and respect.

This has to be the thing that irritates me the most is the utter disrespect most people are experiencing from both sides. I have never been one to jam my opinion down your throat - whether or not I think it's okay to be gay or black or transgender or anything else should have no weight on how you choose to live your life because it's your life, not mine. I guess I choose to live by the golden rule of treat everyone how you wish to be treated because really, what other way is there? (at least in my book)

I have been so consumed since yesterday in this election drama and I absolutely hate it. It has literally made me sick. Upon hearing the news this morning, I have given myself stomach upset, headaches, and anxiety. I'm also an empath, which is why I can't seem to shake this overwhelming feeling of sadness. I do not feel anger, hatred, resentment, or any other negative feelings - just sadness.

I feel sad for everyone who has been targeted by someone so consumed with hatred. Not only that, but I myself have been targeted.

I am a woman.

I am dating a black man.

I have family members who have disabilities, both physical and mental.

The fact that I no longer feel safe in a country I've called home all my life is terrifying. I am scared to think of the progress we have made in the last 50 years that sounds very likely that it can be taken away.

These include the ability for homosexuals to get married, the ability for interracial couples to get married, healthcare for all with pre-existing health conditions, women shattering glass ceilings, just to name a few. It truly saddens me to wonder if I will be allowed (as ridiculous as that sounds in a free country) to marry the love of my life just because he's black and I'm white.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my post. I honestly just needed an outlet. Not to spread hatred or try and convert anyone's way of thinking, because that's not me at all. I appreciate the freedom to be able to use my voice online and be 100% truthful and hopefully lift someone's spirits in an overall tough time for this nation.

Product Review: Gillette Venus Swirl Razor

Hi guys!

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Gilette Venus Swirl Razor. I was lucky enough to receive this product for review purposes and I have to say I wasn't too thrilled at first. I always see other people receiving the "fun" items, like makeup and hair products, when I receive things like razors.

However, I quickly changed my mind when I noticed how amazing this product truly is.

First thing's first - the details. You can find this razor (plus 2 refills) for only $7.99 on Amazon. I have to say, that's a steal when it comes to brand new razors, especially big names like Venus or Shick.

The claims with this product is it's supposed to be easier to maneuver around lumps, bumps, creases, and folds. You know, areas like the knees, ankles, etc.

I've always had a tricky time doing this without cutting the under part of my knee. You can feel my pain already, can't you?

The silver ball on the razor maneuvers in a way that makes the razor head move lightly left and right, thus making it easier to reach said crevices. My only complaint with this technology is that I feel as though it should have been able to move more freely because it doesn't make it as easy as I had hoped when it comes to the under the knee area.

The razor head itself has 5 blades which makes it easy to get every hair on the first stroke. I've always hated having to go over and over the same area because the razor was too dull or didn't have enough blades because it would make my legs itchy and sensitive. Thankfully with this razor head, that isn't an issue.

Overall, I would say go for it if you're in the new market for a new razor, especially a "fancy" one. (not the no-name, 2 blade kinds) ;)

Product Review: Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment. This product retails for $38 at Sephora, ULTA, and tarte.com.

I was so excited to try this eye cream ever since Leesha, aka xsparkage, had mentioned that she loved it. I had seen her video right around the time I was shopping around for a new eye cream and trusted her judgement since I've been enjoying her honest reviews for years. The price point is honestly not too crazy for a good quality eye cream, so I went ahead and ordered it.

I started using it as soon as it arrived in the mail. I like the consistency, it feels similar to the touch as many other eye creams. I noticed it had a slight shimmer in it, probably to help with distracting from dark circles.

In the end, I liked how it felt on my skin. It was moisturizing but not too heavy. However, I ended up not being a fan of the overall product since after using it for a solid month, I saw no real results. Therefore, I ended up returning it - thankfully, Sephora is GREAT about returns and exchanges!

Product Review: St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub + Mask

Hey there!

Today I'm going to reviewing the St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub + Mask courtesy of the recent St. Ives VoxBox I received from Influenster.

I've always been a big fan of the St. Ives scrubs. The apricot scrub is a tried and true favorite for many people - although I like to use it on my entire body every now and then for a spa-like experience. I wouldn't recommend that scrub in particular for your face, as it's too rough but thankfully this oatmeal scrub is the perfect formula for a face scrub.

This scrub/mask comes in two sizes - 6 oz. for $3.89 and 9 oz. for $4.99 at Target. Other drugstores may vary slightly in price. I received the 6 oz. size in my voxbox, which is honestly plenty since I like to use scrubs and masks only 1-2 times a week, so it doesn't dry out my skin or make my face have a negative reaction.

I'm going to be honest and say I've only used this as a scrub, not a mask. The texture is very creamy and milky and seems like a great scrub to me, not so much a mask. They claim you can use it as both by applying it and massaging off for a scrub effect, while you apply to your face and leave it for 5-7 minutes before rinsing off for a mask effect.

I can safely say I love this as a scrub, though. It has hands down turned into one of my favorites, for sure. I enjoy using it 1-2 times a week while I'm in the shower after a long day of work or wearing makeup. It refreshed my skin, moisturizes like no other (probably the oatmeal formula) and makes my skin look and feel softer and more radiant. It's just so good.

It claims to soften skin and smooth away dryness and I can say that there's no way it doesn't live up to those claims. It has a gentle exfoliation, so it's a great first scrub to try, especially good for sensitive skin types. It's also formulated without paragons, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and non-comedogenic. Talk about the good stuff.

I feel like you just can't go wrong with this scrub. It doesn't have terrible ingredients. It's easily accessible and affordable. It makes your skin look and feel super smooth and clean. It's just all around awesome.

Product Review: Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer in "Monoi Oil"

Hey guys!

A few months ago, I received my TENTH Influenster VoxBox! I KNOW - can you believe it?! I'm seriously so flattered.

You can find this specific product here - at $7 for a 10 oz lotion at Target, it's a bit of a steep price (compared to my typical 20oz lotions for $5 at the drugstore) but well worth it since you don't have to use much product to get super soft legs, or wherever you choose to soften up.

This product took a little getting used to for me. The consistency is more watery than a traditional lotion and you have to remember to apply directly after the shower on your wet legs. I have such a tendency to quickly dry off my entire body since I hate being cold after the shower, but I've had to get into the routine of drying off half of my body, applying the moisturizer to my wet legs, then patting my legs dry. Patting is very important to remember - you want to feel mostly dry without wiping the lotion off entirely.

After I pat my legs off, I find the moisturizer leaves a bit of a residue for a good hour or two - you know, that feeling that something is applied to your legs. It's not super smooth, it's not super sticky...just there. Don't get me wrong, this moisturizer definitely makes my legs look and feel smoother almost instantly. It's just an odd texture to feel when it's wet and once it's dried.

As far as scent goes, it's a light, fresh, floral scent. I'm more of a heavy, sticky sweet scent kind of gal, but it's not a terrible scent for someone who prefers the complete opposite. I appreciate the "fluffy" light scent every once in a while. However, they do have coconut oil scent which I'm sure if amazing, although I haven't tried it yet.

I am not a person to apply lotion everyday. I wish I was, but I can't seem to get into the habit. However, I need to apply something moisturizing after shaving my legs or else they start to get red and itchy. That only started happening a few years ago, but it's a weird reaction that's stuck with me it seems. That's when using this comes into play. I used to always have to use hair conditioner while in the shower, as well as apply a thick layer of any lotion to my legs after they dried after getting out of the shower. With this innovation, I'm able to only use this and not get that weird reaction. Thumbs up for me!!

Product Review: Dessange Oleo Miracle Collection

Hey guys!

Today I'll be reviewing the Dessange hair care system I was lucky enough to receive in my latest VoxBox thanks to Influenster!

I received 3 different items in this box:

Dessange Replenishing Shampoo
Dessange Replenishing Conditioner
Dessange Replenishing Oil

Here's a breakdown of the pros & cons, as usual:

PROS

After using consistently, my hair feels and looks noticeably smoother, softer, and shinier.
Feels clean after each use.
I can go longer than usual in between washes, which I found interesting.
Doesn't weigh down hair from moisture.
Hair feels moisturized after using.

CONS

Has a noticeable "mature" smell - meaning, I think of my Great Aunt when I smell these products.
Higher price tag for being a product found at the drugstore. (I'll break this down below)

The shampoo and conditioner retail for $9.99 while the oil retails for $11.99. These prices are based on target.com. Like I said, the prices for these individual products are a bit steeper compared to other drugstore shampoos, conditioners, and oils. However, I believe it's justified since these are much better quality than said brands.

One thing I wanted to mention was the shampoo is 8.5oz while the conditioner is 6.7oz. I tend to use more shampoo than conditioner in an attempt to clean my hair thoroughly and avoid weighing it down from too much conditioner. Although the conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down in this system, I still like to wash my hair the same way. Therefore, I feel the products will run out at the same time which is convenient.

Another thing I wanted to mention is the colors of the actual products. The shampoo is an oily feeling orange while the conditioner is a moisturizing feeling off-white color. The oil however, is clear. I just found it interesting that the shampoo and oil have the same type of feel but completely different colors.

In a typical week, I wash my hair every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Sundays are my day to deep condition my hair as well. On the days I don't wash my hair in the shower, I keep it up and in a hair cap to keep dry then follow the shower by using dry shampoo to keep oil from building up. I find this system helps my hair maintain moisture, softness, and smoothness longer. I use the shampoo and conditioner once in the shower, then follow by using 1-2 pumps of the oil all throughout my hair after the shower.

Overall, I really enjoy these products. I'm really considering buying them again, despite the steeper price tag because of the great benefits they give to my hair. I haven't had as good of hair days as I have using this system in a long time! It's truly is a miracle when I can say this system alone has single-handedly dramatically improved my frizzy hair.

Product Review: LUSH Golden Egg Bath Bomb

Hey guys!

I just finished enjoying a relaxing spa night complete with a LUSH Mask of Magnaminty Face Mask, L'oreal Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm (hair masque), the Yankee Candle Marshmallow Chicks candle lit while reading the amazing #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso.

Oh...and let's not forget the LUSH Golden Egg Bath Bomb.

LUSH Golden Egg Bath Bomb

So after using this bath bomb for the first time, I wanted to review it as I had some pros and cons that I wanted to share with you guys interested in making this purchase before they disappear after Easter.

Their website calls this scent a "creamy honey-toffee luxury", which definitely fits the sweet scent description accurately. Here's the rest of the description off of the official LUSH website:

"You can stop hunting for eggs, because the hunt ends here! This spectacular invention has combined a Bath Bomb and a Luxury Bath Melt to create (drumroll please…) the Bath Bomb Melt! Its creamy, moisturizing cocoa butter exterior encases a fizzy Bath Bomb center, and the whole egg is dusted in a delicate golden luster. Even better? It has the classic honey-toffee fragrance of our best-selling Honey I Washed The Kids soap."

Here's a quick breakdown of the pros and cons:

PROS:

Smells great (classic LUSH smell - if you like this, you'll love the smell this leaves!)
Leaves a beautiful golden shimmer on your body, even after washing with body wash afterwards.
Leaves your body feeling SUPER moisturized and soft.
Nice moisturizing foam coating - this foam coating on the top of the bath water ensured that my skin would lock in the moisturizing effect from using this bath bomb, as all LUSH bath bombs are known for.
Beautiful shimmer distributed throughout the bath water.
Leaves a lingering scent on your body, even after using body wash and body lotion.

CONS:

Doesn't break up easily like other bath bombs - after the overlay of gold shimmer soaked into the bath water, I had to physically sit under the faucet and break up the bath bomb under the running, hot water to have it distribute into the rest of the bathtub.
Yellow bath water - maybe it's just a con to me, but sitting in yellow bath water isn't the most pleasant of sights.

I hope this quick review gave you a better look into how this specific bath bomb works and if it's the right purchase for you.

Keep in mind you can purchase this at LUSH stores or on their website for $8.95 for a 3.8oz one time use bath bomb.

My Erin Condren Life Planner: Week of 1/26-2/1 (2015)

Hey guys!

Time for another Erin Condren Life Planner weekly agenda post! Better late than never, right?

Breakdown of Week 1/26-2/1, 2015:

Work (Daycare): Same sorts of split shifts like the last few weeks. Notice Tuesday, though? We ended up having a snow day due to the blizzard. I'm happy because paid snow days are part of my full-time benefits!!
Makeup Gig: I got another makeup gig Friday in between shifts with one of my favorite photographers! So excited!
School: Honestly, I don't know if I'll have class Wednesday night or not due to the road conditions. But it's there in case things go as planned!
Friday Night: I'm hanging out with my cousin I haven't seen in soooooooo long! I get to see his new apartment so I'm excited!
Saturday Night: Going on a double date with a special guy (whaaaaat? Hehe more details to come) and my best friend and her boyfriend! Dinner and duckpin bowling, woohoo!
Sunday Night: I'm going out to lunch with someone I like to refer to as the little sister I never had. Looking forward to catching up!

Color Coding:

RED: I use this color for anything work related. That could be the daycare, babysitting, and business events.
ORANGE: I use this color to indicate when I have makeup gigs.
PINK: This color stands for any videos and blog posts I'll be uploading and sharing!
PURPLE: This color means FUN! Whether it's a girl's night out, date, or family dinner, I write it down in purple.
GREEN: This color is used to indicate errands. This ranges from birthday gift shopping to planned couponing trips.
BLUE: This color indicates when I have class.

Decorating:

I went with a rainbow theme this week! I was feeling fancy and colorful, hehe.
I used striped rainbow/glitter washi tape on the sides and rainbow splatter mini duct tape for the bottom border.
All different colors of shimmery smiley face stickers galore!
I put snowflake stickers on the days it's supposed to snow. Looks like I was right about 2/3 so far!

My Erin Condren Life Planner: Week of 1/19-1/25 (2015)

I'm back with another look into how I organized my weekly view portion of my Erin Condren Life Planner! You can check out last week's post by clicking HERE.

Breakdown of Week 1/19-1/25, 2015:

Work (Daycare): Just like last week, I work the split schedule at the daycare so I split it into the morning and afternoon boxes.
Board Meeting: We have a mandatory meeting with the board on Tuesday night. At least I get paid to attend!
Makeup Gig: I'm working with a local photographer on a boudoir shoot Wednesday during my break from work. Woohoo!
School: It's time to get back into the swing of school and knock out this last semester! Luckily, I only have class for my Student Teaching Wednesday nights from 7-9:40pm. More focus on work than school, finally!
Friday Night: My friend Emily and I are planning to go out for dinner and drinks after work. She also works in child care, so it'll be a nice way to end a stressful work week by blowing off some steam.
Saturday Afternoon: We're going out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate my sister's birthday!
Sunday Afternoon: I'm going to see The Wedding Ringer! I heard it's supposed to be really funny, so I'm excited!
I'm looking forward to a productive week and fun weekend! :)

Color Coding:

RED: I use this color for anything work related. That could be the daycare, babysitting, and business events.

ORANGE: I use this color to indicate when I have makeup gigs.

PINK: This color stands for any videos and blog posts I'll be uploading and sharing!

PURPLE: This color means FUN! Whether it's a girl's night out, date, or family dinner, I write it down in purple.

GREEN: This color is used to indicate errands. This ranges from birthday gift shopping to planned couponing trips.

BLUE: You'll see this color used next week, which indicates when I have class.

Decorating:

I stuck with a green theme this week. I used that cool patterned duct tape to create borders. I have to cut a piece to fit on the side, which is why it doesn't look completely perfect.
Sticking with the green theme, I used green themed stickers such as the smiling apple, sparkly 3D dots, excited smiley face (which also indicated pay day!) and a green-lined cupcake.
I used a green write-on sticker to indicate when I need to pay my car payment.
My sister's birthday is the 20th and my mom's birthday is the 21st! (See what I meant about so many birthdays all at once?!) I used blue to indicate their birthdays since they prefer the color.

Influenster Frosty VoxBox Review

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to be sharing my thoughts of the items I received recently in the Frosty VoxBox from Influenster! Let's take a closer look at what I received:

Red Vines Fruit Vines Bites in flavor "Strawberry": I'm not big on chewy candies like these, so I ended up giving these to my family to enjoy.
McCormick Gormet All Natural Thyme Seasoning: I have yet to find a recipe I wanted to make that included Thyme in it, but I'm working on it since I love trying new recipes and flavors!
EcoTools Styler & Smoother Hair Brush: This hair brush couldn't have come at a better time. I was just saying how I needed a new brush since mine had been on it's way out. I love how this one doesn't pull at tangled hair and glides smoothly through, leaving my hair feel soft and smooth.
Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Green Tea: I actually ended up giving this to a friend of mine since I'm not big on mint flavors.
Rimmel Just Let It Go Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: This makeup remover is a good one for being from the drugstore.
NYC Expert Last Lip Color in "Sugar Plum": I love how this red/plum lip color looks on me. It's not too intense for my pale complexion and I'm a fan of the "shiny" look it gives. However, this lipstick has the most awful "cheap" taste to it that makes it a big turn-off for me. Knowing me, I'll probably suck it up now and then just because I love how it looks!
Rimmel Scandleyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in "Black": This eyeliner is as great as I had hoped it would be! Super smooth and super black and it stays on all day!
No. 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum: The tricky thing with serums and skincare products that come with a one time use sample are that you get to see what it feels like on your skin, but not much else happens since most skincare products need to be used for a good month to see a difference. So all I got out of this sample was that it felt slimy like any other serum.

My Erin Condren Life Planner: Week of 1/12-1/18 (2015)

Hey guys!

Today I wanted to give you a glimpse into how I decorated and organized my weekly calendar view in my 2015 Erin Condren Life Planner! As some of you may know, I received this 18 month planner as a gift in July of 2014. I've been addicted to using it ever since!

I've been wanting to start decorating it more as I've been collecting washi tape and stickers and addictively pinning away ideas on Pinterest! I just haven't had much time or patience to get down to it - until now!!

I'm inviting you into my life this week to take a glimpse at how I've slowly but surely started to make my busy and organized life just a little prettier!

Breakdown of Week 1/12-1/18, 2015:

Work (Daycare): I'm currently working split shifts at the daycare. So I found it necessary to start using the weekly view instead of the monthly view so I could split the day up accordingly.
Local Seminar: This is a quarterly event that takes place to keep me on track with my business.
Babysitting: I'll be babysitting my 2 favorite little boys this Saturday night right after the seminar ends! This used to be a more regular form of income that has diminished some, but I'm glad to pick it up when I can!
Beauty Videos: I like to post 2 videos on my beauty channel (LaurNmakeup) twice a week - specifically on Mondays and Thursdays.
Blog Posts: I want to get back into posting more on the blog! So I've specifically written in that I plan on posting a review on my latest Influenster VoxBox Wednesday night as well as another one of these ECLP posts next Sunday night after I decorate and organize next week's schedule!
Olive Garden: I was sick for New Year's Eve, so our family dinner got postponed. We're planning to make it happen sometime this week! We're playing it by ear, which is why it's in the side column instead of under a specific date.
Birthday Gift Shopping: My mom, dad, and sister all have birthdays that happen within the next week, as you'll see with this and next week's weekly views. It's time to get shopping! Once again, I'm not exactly sure of when it will happen, I just know it's a priority this week.

Decorating:

I kept with a subdued, yellow theme this week as seen by the smiley face and owl stickers, as well as the custom made border on Saturday's day section. This little trick can be found on Pinterest!
I used long strips of diagonal/metallic striped washi tape from Dollar Tree as borders.
It's my dad's birthday on Saturday! I had to include a birthday sticker that's included with the planners in his favorite color, of course!
We're supposedly getting some snowy weather Monday, so I decided to include a snow sticker as a festive indicator.
The heart stickers on the 15th indicate a special day for me. :)

That's about it! This is pretty simplistic decorating and organizing compared to some people's hectic lifestyle and life planners. I'm sure as time goes on and life begins to get crazier again (the Spring semester is just around the corner!) I will get more into decorating and specific planning again.

Motivational Monday! ~ 11/17/14 (LAST ONE)

Hey guys!

This is going to be a bittersweet post for me. As you may have noticed, I haven't been posting these weekly motivational posts the past several weeks. Life has taken a few turns that have been distracting me from my most precious hobbies, such as writing my blog posts and filming my YouTube videos.

I'm getting back on my feet and having fun along the way, but I have done some thinking and come to the difficult decision that this is going to be my last "Motivational Monday" post. I love giving you guys little updates in these weekly posts, as well as using quotes that relate to what I'm going through at the time. You guys know how much I love quotes and how I live by them. This was a difficult decision to make, but I have been doing these posts for close to 2 years now and it's time for them to come to an end.

Just to clarify, this does not mean I'm stopping blogging or filming videos at all. In fact, I have some exciting videos and blog posts on the way soon! It just means you won't be seeing these weekly motivational posts anymore. Maybe once in a while, but not every single week. It has become more of a hassle than a pleasure, and that's not what a hobby is supposed to feel like. If it loses the fun and ease, why continue on?

Influenster Dean's List VoxBox Review!

Hey guys!

Today I have a different post for you guys - it's all about what I've been enjoying from the Dean's List VoxBox that I received from Influenster! This is my FIFTH box I've received from the company and I couldn't be happier! I feel it was a good assortment of cosmetics, stationary, feminine products, and a little something to snack on - perfect for the everyday college student!

Here's a quick breakdown of what I received in the box and my thoughts on each item:

CoverGirl Ready, Set, GORGEOUS Foundation in #110: This foundation is just a little bit orange for me, but with proper blending and highlighting, I can make it work!
Sinful Colors Nail Lacquer in "NO TEXT RED": This is a BRIGHT red nail polish that's perfect for the upcoming holiday season! Also love, love, LOVE the campaign idea! Please remember the people that love you and PUT THE PHONE DOWN WHILE DRIVING!
Pilot Frixon Clicker Pens in Black & Blue: These pens rule! These pens don't smear easily, erase when you want them to, and write nicely.
Playtex Sport Tampons, 16 pack: They do what a tampon is supposed to do! Haha
Softlips Cube Lip Balm in "Pomegranate Blueberry": I actually learned to really love this product, even though I originally would have preferred the sweeter scent. It has a slight minty tingle to it, but it doesn't burn - it's more refreshing than anything. Love how it looks and love how it works!
KISS Look So Natural False Eyelashes: These looked BEAUTIFUL on one of my bridal clients!
Airheads Bites Fruit Flavored Candy: These are essentially a waste for anyone to give to me since I don't enjoy fruit flavored candy or Airheads in general, but my family and friends enjoy these so at least they don't go to waste!

Overall, I was very pleased with this box. I have had boxes in the past that I didn't enjoy as much, and the fact that I received so many beauty items in one box was definitely a huge plus!

Motivational Monday! ~ 8/25/14

Hey guys!

As I sit here and reflect on my life (the quote kinda brought that on) I think about how I'll finally be 21 years old in just two short days. It seems like just yesterday I was in middle school. I look back and think of how many years I've been out of high school, let alone how much I've been through in general. My birthday this year will be an interesting one, with a lot of new beginnings, so here's hoping it's a great new year!

See what I mean? Anyways, it's hard to believe I'm so much closer to what I've wanted all my life than I ever have been. I can almost taste my dreams coming true...just need to walk a little further and turn the corner!
