Obama immigration policy leads to three murders

What are three more lives lost from murder directly from his actions on our immigration policy to obama? What is a bit more blood on his hands, matter to him?

Here is a report on three deaths that can be tied directly to obama and his stopping the deportation of illegal aliens. Had obama, the first muslim illegal alien potus not issued this order, this felon might have at the very least, stayed behind bars or deported back to Haiti.

The real crime here is that Ashley and the two renters would still be alive today had President Obama obeyed the federal immigration laws and not placed a ban on deportations. Ironically, the ban on deportation to Haiti was lifted two weeks after the murders took place."

Obama’s Immigration Policy Results in Three Murders

The Obama administration has been ignoring federal immigration laws in failing to deport thousands of illegal aliens as they have been identified and detained. And now that defiance of federal law has resulted in the murder of three people, one of which was a 15 year old girl.

In 2006, 23 year old Kesler Dufrene from Haiti, was convicted of his second felony for burglary. A judge in Bradenton, Florida sentenced Dufrene to five years in prison. Since he was also an illegal immigrant, his felony conviction caused an immigration judge to order that he be deported back to Haiti upon his release from prison.

Dufrene was released from prison in September, 2010 and handed over to immigration officials. In October 2010 and under the directions from Obama who ordered a temporary halt to deportations to Haiti due to the massive earthquake that devastated the island nation, Dufrene was released from custody by immigration officials. Even though he was a two time felon and an illegal alien, Dufrene was free to walk the streets of Florida.

On January 2, 2011, relatives of 15 year old Ashley Crow were worried when they could not get anyone at her home to answer their calls, so they notified police. When the police arrived, they found Ashley, 25 year old Harlen Peralta and 35 year old Israel Rincon shot to death. Peralta and Rincon rented an attached efficiency apartment from Ashley’s mother, Audrey Hansack.

Today they release new grades for candidates and there was a major shift. Rick Santorum went from a D-minus to an A-minus.

He zoomed from the back of the GOP pack on immigration issues to way out FRONT at a C-SPAN televised event in South Carolina on Friday. For the first time in many years, NumbersUSA identified a Presidential candidate who says LEGAL immigration numbers are too high!

NumbersUSA: South Carolina Primary TV Ad

NumbersUSA has a new television and radio in South Carolina suggests that the presidential candidates oppose illegal immigration and excessive legal immigration when the U.S. has so many unemployed legal citizens.

This television ad will be airing in South Carolina on select television stations in the weeks leading up to the 2012 Presidential primaries. The ad asks the candidates if they think new jobs should go to unemployed Americans or to new legal immigrants.

You can view the television ad in the below video:

In addition, the following radio ad will air on radio stations throughout South Carolina in the weeks leading up to the South Carolina Presidential primary. The goal asks citizens of the Palmetto State to ask the candidates who they would give the next job to: an unemployed American or a new foreign worker. An ad similar to this one ran throughout Iowa and was the fifth most played political ad in the Des Moines market in the month leading up to the Iowa Caucuses.

Obama picks immigration reform advocate to lead domestic policy

"The White House announced Tuesday that Cecilia Muñoz, a former senior vice president of the National Council of La Raza, would replace Melody Barnes at the top of the council. White House press secretary Jay Carney announced the appointment during his press briefing."

Former VP of La Raza, one of the most violent, militant Mexican organizations in existence. La Raza which wants to take back California and much of the American Southwest in a 'reconquista' or reconquering of land that 'rightfully' belongs to the Mexicans.

It gets worse in what Obama, the first Muslim illegal alien Potus said about Munoz:
“Over the past three years, Cecilia has been a trusted advisor who has demonstrated sound judgment day in and day out,” the president said. “Cecilia has done an extraordinary job working on behalf of middle class families, and I’m confident she’ll bring the same unwavering dedication to her new position. . .. She's the perfect fit for this job," the official told The Hill. "This is someone who is very much ready for the position."

On immigration, she has been the president's "key person" on the issue "working to fix the system that's broken" the official said, adding that she brings 20 years of immigration policy with her to the post.

Yes, the system is badly broken and can easily be fixed by enforcing the laws that the United States ALREADY has on the books passed back in the 1940s to deal with illegal immigration. We should also build a real fence or wall, complete with watch towers, armed with 10,000 of our best troops, the best weapons and backed up with real Rules Of Engagement, shoot to kill if need be.

Will Obama and Munoz do these things to secure our borders? Not even close, they will do all they can to circumvent our laws that are already in place and open the flood gates for illegal immigration to magically become legal. The watch as our once great country turns into Tjuana of the the north.

Obama picks ~~immigration reform advocate~~, former La Raza traitor to lead domestic policy.

President Obama has picked a strong advocate of immigration reform to head his Domestic Policy Council.

The White House announced Tuesday that Cecilia Muñoz, a former senior vice president of the National Council of La Raza, would replace Melody Barnes at the top of the council. White House press secretary Jay Carney announced the appointment during his press briefing.

Muñoz is now serving as the White House's director of intergovernmental affairs and is in charge of outreach to state and local governments.

"The president has asked, she has accepted," Carney said.

Muñoz is an immigration expert who worked for the National Council of La Raza, the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, until she joined the administration in 2009. The group works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans and advocates legislation that would provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Obama has frequently been criticized by pro-immigration reform advocates for not pressing harder for changes to the country's immigration laws. Hispanic groups also have complained that the administration has stepped up deportations of illegal aliens.

All of this has led to questions about whether Obama will garner strong support from Hispanics in his 2012 reelection bid. It is crucial to Obama's reelection that he win a large majority of the Hispanic vote, particularly in critical swing states such as Florida, New Mexico and Colorado.

Carney called Muñoz "the best person for the job."

In her new role, Muñoz will become the president’s senior adviser on domestic affairs that fall outside the strict purview of the National Economic Council, which is headed by Gene Sperling.

“Over the past three years, Cecilia has been a trusted advisor who has demonstrated sound judgment day in and day out,” the president said. “Cecilia has done an extraordinary job working on behalf of middle class families, and I’m confident she’ll bring the same unwavering dedication to her new position.”

A senior administration official credited Munoz's work on immigration and disaster relief and said she has successfully brought the voices of local and state officials into the White House through her work at the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.

"She's the perfect fit for this job," the official told The Hill. "This is someone who is very much ready for the position."

Illegal Immigration is a Crime

Secure Arkansas: Under Title 8 Section 1325 >of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;

has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

Union Standoff With Administration Over Deportation Rules

The National ICE Council, the union representing 7000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, is facing a deadline late this month over whether or not to take part in training ordered by the Obama Administration aimed at reducing deportations of illegal aliens. This training was announced in a June 17th memo by ICE Director, John Morton setting out 31 factors that agency officers would use to decide whether to proceed with deportation.

Union President, Chris Crane, has been critical of Obama's strategy, saying it amounts to orders for agents not to enforce the law. Shortly after the Morton memo was issued, Crane told PRNewswire, "Any American concerned about immigration needs to brace themselves for what's coming. This is just one of many new ICE policies in queue aimed at stopping the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws in the United States. Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the Administration is now implementing it through agency policy."

Crane also stated that agents, officers, employees and the Union had no input in these policies, "ICE and the Administration have excluded our union and our agents from the entire process of developing policies, it was all kept secret from us, we found out from the newspapers. ICE worked hand in hand with immigrants' rights groups, but excluded its own officers."

Naturally, all this has been ignored by the mainstream media, along with the 2010 no-confidence vote ICE agents gave Obama appointee, John Morton.

Just as concerning are the secret policies being implemented at ICE. Agents claim that Director John Morton always presents written policies for public consumption, but then makes "secret changes" to the policies which ICE refuses to put in writing. ICE knows the policy changes will create a political outcry or could place the public or ICE officers at risk. "Our officers are already under orders not to make arrests or even talk to foreign nationals in most cases unless another agency has already arrested them. You won't find that written in any public ICE policy."

He also accuses the administration of changing the policies to win support of immigrant groups in the election.

"Law enforcement and public safety have taken a back seat to attempts to satisfy immigrant advocacy groups," Mr. Crane told a House Judiciary subcommittee in October.

"I think the writing is on the wall for every person concerned about good government and effective immigration reforms - the things happening at ICE represent neither, said Crane. We are asking everyone to please email or call your Congressman and Senators immediately and ask them to help stop what's happening at ICE, we desperately need your help."

(CNSNews.com) - A group of illegal aliens visited the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 15 where they held a “Student Voices” meeting with Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, according to information about the meeting posted on the official Department of Education and Department of Labor websites.

Department of Education Spokesman Jim Bradshaw, while acknowledging receiving questions about the meeting from CNSNews.com, failed to respond to those questions after they were put to him via both phone and email messages on Thursday and Friday of this week.

At the meeting, according to the Department of Labor’s website, Duncan told the illegal aliens about the administration’s “efforts to assist students who are undocumented” through the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act—the DREAM Act. Solis also spoke to the illegal aliens about the DREAM Act.

The DREAM Act, sponsored by Senate Democratic Whip Richard Durbin (Ill.), would legalize illegal aliens who had entered the U.S. before their 16th birthday, who had been in the U.S. for at least five years preceding the passage of the act, and who had been admitted to a college or earned a high school diploma or a general education development certificate.

Anyone that has read this [The TexasFred] blog for ANY length of time already knows how I feel about the infestation of ILLEGALS in America, and the lack of any credible enforcement taking place, so my opinion on the DREAM Act and it's implementation should come as no surprise.

The DREAM Act (acronym for Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) is an American legislative proposal first introduced in the Senate on August 1, 2001 and most recently reintroduced there on May 11, 2011.

This bill would provide conditional permanent residency to certain illegal aliens of good moral character who graduate from US high schools, arrived in the US as minors, and lived in the country continuously for at least five years prior to the bill’s enactment. If they were to complete two years in the military or two years at a four year institution of higher learning, they would obtain temporary residency for a six year period. Within the six year period, they may qualify if they have "acquired a degree from an institution of higher education in the United States or has completed at least 2 years, in good standing, in a program for a bachelor's degree or higher degree in the United States" or have "served in the armed services for at least 2 years and, if discharged, has received an honorable discharge". Military enlistment contracts require an eight year commitment, with active duty commitments typically between four and six years, but as low as two years. "Any alien whose permanent resident status is terminated . . . shall return to the immigration status the alien had immediately prior to receiving conditional permanent resident status under this Act." This bill would have included illegal immigrants as old as 35 years of age. DREAM Act

That all sounds well and good, at 1st glance, especially the part about serving honorably in the United States military as a path to citizenship. The part that bothers me is this, "This bill would have included illegal immigrants as old as 35 years of age."

35 years of age? That’s not disadvantaged youth, that is WETBACK labor that the Dems are hoping to convert to being Obama supporters and Democratic voters.

And another thing, an ILLEGAL that serves in the U.S. military in an attempt to gain his citizenship is a person I can respect. They would have to be willing to lay down their lives for this nation to earn the right to be called a U.S. citizen. That is someone I can welcome with open arms.

But consider this; now that Obama and company are making such drastic cutbacks to the numbers of the U.S. military, will that impede the path to citizens ship if the military is over quota and dumping troops?

Just because some ILLEGAL has been here a certain numbers of years and has managed to get a high school diploma doesn't give them ANY right to be an American citizen, no matter what their GPA may or may not be.

Let's face facts, many institutions will graduate people just to get them out of the system, and I don't mean just ILLEGALS. Think *some* high school and college athletes.

In a December 2010 report, the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation estimated that the November 30th, 2010 version of the DREAM Act would “reduce deficits by about $1.4 billion over the 2011-2020 period and increase government revenues by $2.3 billion over the next 10 years.” The same report also notes that the Act “would increase projected deficits by more than $5 billion in at least one of the four consecutive 10-year periods starting in 2021″. Billions of dollars? Well hell, why not? I mean, Obama is spending TRILLIONS of U.S. tax dollars, what's a few billion among friends if it helps increase the Democratic base? Right?

One recent UCLA study estimates that between $1.4 trillion and $3.6 trillion in taxable income would be generated for the economy over a 40 year period based upon estimates ranging between 825,000 and 2.1 million potential DREAM Act beneficiaries successfully obtaining resident status through the legislation. In 40 years my children will be in their 70′s, and somehow, I just don't see a TRILLION dollars being all that much money by then, not if the current path America is on isn't changed, and soon.

I just hope no one ever tells the Dems what comes after a trillion.

H-1B Visas a Symptom of Special-Interest Influence in D.C.

by John Miano, Fellow with the Center for Immigration Studies, US News: Over the previous year, the United States lost 19,740 computer jobs, 107,200 engineering jobs, and 243,870 science jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In spite of massive job losses, industry has managed to use up the entire quota of H-1B visas, most of which went to foreign workers in these fields. It is likely over 100,000 H-1B visas were given out this year.

In most of America, these grim figures would end any debate on the need to import more cheap foreign labor. In a Washington that is completely beholden to lobbyists and industry campaign cash, they find ways to look the other way. As GOP Rep. Tom Davis of Virginia says, "This [H-1B] is a very important issue for the high-tech executives who give the money."[Rep. Tim Griffin to Introduce High-Skilled Immigrant Bill.]D.C. is filled with mills that produce bogus studies to provide Congress with rose-colored glasses that deprive reality. Some studies spin H-1B workers as "entrepreneurs." Others make absurd job claims, such as that each H-1B worker creates six additional jobs (Do the math here: With around 100,000 H-1B visas a year, that would make H-1B the single largest job creation factor in the economy.)

In fact, the opposite is true. The largest users of H-1B visas are foreign offshoring companies. They use H-1B visas to provide on-site support for projected moved to other countries. In that model, each H-1B worker here is a proxy for even more jobs lost.

In spite of a long parade of damning audits on the H-1B program, Congress has done nothing to clean up the mess. Deliberate loopholes in the law allow employers to replace Americans with lower-paid H-1B workers. Working in the computer industry, I have witnessed employers openly replacing hundreds of Americans with cheaper worker on H-1B visas.[Chamber of Commerce, Bloomberg Push Immigration Reform.]H-1B supporters rarely forget to remind the public that the statute requires H-1B workers to be paid "the prevailing wage." They invariably forget that, 20,000 words later, the statute redefines the term "prevailing wage" in such a manner that an employer can legally pay a software engineer in Edison, N.J., $34,133 a year less than the median wage.

How is it possible that Americans can be fired in their own country, be replaced with foreign workers, and Congress does nothing for decades? H-1Bs, bailouts to Wall Street, and subsidies to politically connected business are all symptoms of the same problem: a government that is controlled by special interests that are antithetical to those of the American people.

Lawmakers Propose Bill to End Racial Profiling; Has Hidden Agenda

This is mainly a move to garner more votes for the democrats in November and to ensure the re-election of the first Muslim, illegal alien POTUS.

This bill, as proposed would possibly force law enforcement agencies to make 'sensitivity training' mandatory. Lawsuits would become 'easier' for those claiming discrimination to sue government agencies at all levels. No doubt that the followers of islam might be kicking each other to the curb to get a lawsuit filed first. Past actions speak loudly in this arena. Just think what CAIR and other Muslim organizations would be telling their followers to do, bury the government with lawsuits and more.

We know that Muslims have screamed the loudest about being racially or criminally profiled and their accusations have always proven to be false. But that is all right. Under Islamic law it is OK to lie to us infidels and kafirs. Just a little thing called taqiyya.

Israeli airlines have used racial profiling for years. EVERYONE is a suspected terrorist until proven otherwise. How many terrorist attacks have Israeli airlines suffered in the past compared to other airlines and their security?

As the Republicans continue to flounder about, true Conservatives are totally disgusted and it is no wonder so many I now do not like any of the choices we have on the right. I do not think there will much difference after the next election from who ends up in the White House. The real battle is in Congress and who will control the House and the Senate.

A bill pending in the U.S. Congress to totally ban racial profiling by all U.S. law enforcement departments allocates millions of dollars in federal funds for police officer sensitivity training programs. The bill as written will also make it easier for those who claim discrimination to sue federal, state or local governments for damages.

According to a public-interest group that investigates government corruption and abuse, while the proposed law’s main selling point of ending purported discrimination by federal state and local police is noble, some of its provisions are outrageous and will cost taxpayers dearly.

The measure, End Racial Profiling Act of 2011 (ERPA), was first introduced in the U.S. Senate by Maryland Democrat Ben Cardin who was named the nation's most liberal senator by the National Journal last year, according to the Judicial Watch blog.

This month Rep. John Conyers, the ethically challenged Michigan congressman embroiled in several corruption scandals, introduced the measure in the U.S. House. Conyers has been the focus of several Judicial Watch investigations in the past.

Criminal Profiling is a law-enforcement tool with a history that began in the early 1980s. The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Behavioral Sciences Unit developed the first profile for a serial-killer (which, by the way, indicated a white male among its criteria).

Then, according to former-FBI special agent Robert Ressler, the BSU created profiles for other categories of crime including terrorism. Through the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, local law-enforcement officers were provided instruction in profiling, which they brought back to their respective police agencies.

France Cutting LEGAL Immigration By 10%

Romney says he would veto DREAM Act

GOPUSA - SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Saturday that he would veto legislation that would allow certain illegal residents to become American citizens.

"The answer is yes," Romney said during a campaign stop here in western Iowa, when he was asked if he would refuse to sign what's known as the DREAM Act.

Romney has said before that he would oppose the legislation, which would legalize some young illegal immigrants if they attend college or serve in the military. But Saturday was the first time he's explicitly said he would veto it.

Judge blocks portions of South Carolina immigration law

National Guard Being Cut On The Border

by Alicia A. Caldwell: The Obama administration will keep a reduced contingent of National Guard troops working along the Mexican border for the next year, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

Starting in January, the force of 1,200 National Guard troops at the border will be reduced to fewer than 300 at a cost of about $60 million, said Paul Stockton, assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense.

The remaining troops will shift their focus from patrolling the border on the ground looking for illegal immigrants and smugglers to aerial surveillance missions using military helicopters and airplanes equipped with high-tech radar and other gear. Exactly where those troops will fly or how many aircraft will be used has not been decided, he said.

"We are basically going from boots on the ground to boots in the air," said David Aguilar, deputy commissioner for Customs and Border Protection. . . . [Full Story]

The obama administration, you know, possibly the worst, most corrupt administration that this country has seen in it's short history, has intensified it's attack on Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Arizona.

obama, the first muslim illegal alien potus and his equally racist, anti-Semitic Attorney General, eric holder, are claiming that Arpaio has violated federal law and the Constitution of the United States in fighting illegal immigration, illegal aliens in Arizona where Arpaio is Sheriff of Maricopa County. Arpaio has supposedly violated the 'rights' of Mexicans and Hispanics.

Any coincidence that this assistant Attorney General is latino or hispanic? With a last name of perez, that seems pretty likely. What about the timing of when this was announced? Right after the Supreme Court announced it would hear arguments for and against Arizona's awesome and much needed immigration bill, S.B.1070.

What about the accusations of civil rights violations and that Sheriff Joe violated the Constitutional 'rights' of illegal aliens from THIS administration that has trounced on, circumvented the Constitution every chance it can? obama, who has stacked his administration with the most vile, racist, anti-Semitic, socialist, progressive, anti-Constitutional American hating traitors that he can find, has the arrogance to accuse the one man who truly stands up for and represents the heart of how this country should be waging the fight against illegal immigration.

Illegal aliens should have NO rights once they cross the border into the United States, period. They deserve nothing but swift deportation back to where ever they came from. The last thing these law breaking illegals deserve are food stamps, free health care, free or very low cost housing, free drivers license(in some states), or ANY legal representation.

Arizona had no choice but to pass SB 1070 as the federal government refuses to enforce the laws that are already in place to fight illegal immigration.

The obama administration, democrats, far left liberal progressives are once again stabbing us, the legal American citizens in the back to pander and buy the latino/hispanic vote for the upcoming elections in 2012.

While the potus is on yet another lengthy holiday(17 days), the average legal American might be lucky enough to have a full time job with benefits, that might pay enough to put on the table and keep the gas tank full for the family car.

This is all wrong. We should be impeaching obama as we speak and preparing to remove every last one of the American hating members of his administration.

We need more people like Sheriff Joe Arpaio now. In fact, we needed them long before yesterday. It is just a matter of time before obama and his henchmen come after Joe Arpaio, next it will be you or me.

Obama-Holder crusade against Sheriff Joe intensifies

As his poll numbers continue to plummet, President Barack Obama's hand-picked Attorney General, Eric Holder, this week continued his ongoing crusade against America's best-known sheriff for what he calls discriminatory policing practices involving Latinos.

The Obama Justice Department released of a report on Thursday blasting Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio for allegedly violating federal law and the Constitution in his department's handling of illegal aliens. The report accuses the popular sheriff of allowing his deputies to violate the civil rights of Latinos.

The action comes only days after Sheriff Arpaio -- a popular figure among conservatives -- endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry in his bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

"The Obama Justice Department may not care about the death of a Border Patrol agent (Brian Terry) or about Black Panthers intimidating voters during a presidential election, but Holder's Civil Rights Division head was diligent in his almost three-year crusade against an Arizona lawman who cares about protecting and serving his state's citizens," said former police detective and military intelligence officer Mike Snope

Rick Santorum Opposes Catholic Bishops Amnesty Plan

NumbersUSA - Republican Presidential Hopeful Rick Santorum criticized the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops during an interview on Iowa public television on Monday. The USCCB have lobbied Congress for amnesty legislation, and over this past weekend, 30 bishops wrote a letter sympathizing with illegal aliens. Santorum is Catholic.

"If we develop the program like the Catholic bishops suggested we would be creating a huge magnet for people to come in and break the law some more," Santorum said. "We'd be inviting people to cross this border, come into this country and with the expectation that they will be able to stay here permanently."

Earlier this year, USCCB President Archbishop Timothy Dolan wrote to Congress, "We realize that reform must be based on respect for and implementation of the law, and for the legitimate and timely question of national security ... Equally, however, it must defend the rights and dignity of all peoples, recognizing that human dignity comes from God and does not depend on where people were born or how they came to our nation."

Santorum thinks the approach outlined by the bishops would encourage more illegal immigration. "We have to have rules and we have to keep those rules in America, or we would be a magnet for more people who want to break the law," he said.

Santorum also said that offering an amnesty to illegal aliens would be a slight to the families that came to America the legal way. "[E]verybody who broke the law came here and we’re going to let you in – and those folks, well, sorry, you’re chumps, you played by the rules."

Rasmussen Reports - The U.S. Supreme Court Monday announced it will decide whether the Arizona immigration law passed last year violates the Constitution, and a new survey finds that half of voters still support a similar immigration law for their own state.

Today Rasmussen Reports released the results of their latest national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Votersregarding the Arizona styled immigration law. Results:

The American Legion's Burn Pit: Have another great video from the NRA's Patriot Files, and an article that segues nicely with it. We'll start with the article from the Washington Post which looks at National Guard Deployments to the border, and whether they were successful:

President Obama’s decision last year to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border may have been smart politics, but a growing number of skeptics say the deployment is an expensive and inefficient mission that has made little difference in homeland security.

Critics of the deployment include budget hawks, who say it is a waste of money, and residents here along the border, who say they are tired of seeing armed troops in their back yard.

Most of the criticism of the deployment focuses on its costs and benefits. The 1,200 National Guard troops have helped Border Patrol agents apprehend 25,514 illegal immigrants at a cost of $160 million — or $6,271 for each person caught.

“As a mayor, I am not going to say we don’t want more security. But as a taxpayer? I would say something different,” said John David Franz, mayor of Hidalgo, in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley.

Proponents of the mission stress that the guardsmen serve as a deterrent to drug smugglers and illegal immigrants — a role that is impossible to measure in dollars.

Naturally it would be tough to do a cost benefit analysis on this because some of the benefits of the patrols can't be measured, that certainly makes sense. None the less, that price tag is a bit scary. I still prefer some border patrol, and increased attempts to dissuade folks from coming here, but alas the courts have almost universally struck down all efforts to remove the social net that lures people here. But, there is no accounting for the bravery of the folks who work there, as is made clear in this video:

Illegal Aliens, In-State Tuition And The Law

by Mike Brownfield, Morning Bell, Heritage Foundation: Consider it an illegal fringe benefit for illegal immigrants. Today, 12 states allow individuals who are in the United States illegally to pay the same in-state tuition rates as legal residents of the state without providing the same rates to others in the country who are here legally. And those states are doing it in direct contravention of federal law.

In a new paper, Heritage's Hans von Spakovsky and Charles Stimson explain that in 1996, Congress passed--and President Bill Clinton signed into law--the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. Under Section 1623 of the law, state colleges and universities are prohibited from providing in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens "on the basis of residence within the State" unless the same in-state rates are offered to all citizens of the United States.

"By circumventing the requirements of § 1623 these states are violating federal law, and the legal arguments offered to justify such actions are untenable, no matter what other policy arguments are offered in their defense," von Spakovsky and Stimson write. Which states are on the list? The offenders include California, Texas, New York, Utah, Washington, Oklahoma, Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico, Nebraska, Maryland, and Connecticut.

Despite these violations, the federal government is doing nothing about it, all while the Justice Department has brought action against Arizona and Alabama for assisting in the enforcement of federal immigration law. ;Meanwhile, President Obama's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement department announced over the summer relaxed standards for pursuing and dismissing immigration cases.

Apart from being illegal, granting in-state tuition to illegal aliens isn't at all popular with the American people, either. A poll conducted in August shows that 81 percent of voters oppose providing in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens--and with good reason. For starters, the cost of doing so is breaking an already strained bank. In 2005, the cost of providing in-state tuition in California was between $222.6 million and $289.3 million; in Texas, it was estimated between $80.2 million and $104.4 million. Von Spakovsky and Stimson note that the policy has other serious flaws, as well:

Granting financial preference to illegal aliens also discriminates against otherwise qualified citizen students from outside the state. Furthermore, states that offer in-state tuition to illegal aliens act as a magnet for more illegal aliens to come to the state. Arguments to the contrary are unpersuasive, and not supported by the facts.

The core issue, though, is the Constitution and the rule of law. And while the United States welcomes immigrants, it is also a country of laws, and there are limits imposed on those who seek citizenship. States cannot cast aside those laws where they see fit, as von Spakovsky and Stimson explain:

Americans take pride in their heritage and this country’s generous policies regarding legal immigration. Yet, as citizens of a sovereign nation, Americans retain the right to decide who can and cannot enter this country—and what terms immigrants and visitors must accept as a condition of residing in the United States. As mandated by the U.S. Constitution, Congress sets America’s immigration policy. State officials have considerable influence in Congress over the crafting of immigration laws, and they may take steps to help enforce federal law. However, state officials cannot act contrary to a congressional statute.

The Supreme Court has held that "The states have no power, by taxation or otherwise, to retard, impede, burden, or in any manner control, the operations of the constitutional laws enacted by Congress to carry into execution the powers vested in the general government." Unfortunately, in offering illegal aliens in-state tuition in violation of federal law, that is exactly what these states are doing. Now it is up to the President and the Attorney General to enforce that law and take action against these 12 states.

Whatever you may think of presidential candidate Newt Gingrich or his recently announced legalization plan, the fact that he has broken the 4-year Republican taboo against amnesty has unleashed pro-amnesty efforts everywhere.

The pollsters do this with the Big Trick of never offering voters an option of Attrition Through Enforcement (forcing them to choose either mass deportations or mass legalization).

In short, Mr. Gingrich has revived the whole national debate on amnesty which had been essentially dead after you/we defeated the DREAM amnesty last December. Any chance for amnesty votes was essentially dead until Gingrich revived the idea.

65% Of Voters Oppose Birthright Citizenship.

A new Rasmussen poll shows that 65% of likely U.S. voters oppose birthright citizenship. That means two-thirds of all voters want to end this absurd practice, as most industrialized democracies have already done.

Just because an illegal alien mother gives birth in the U.S. doesn't mean the baby should be a U.S. citizen. Don't you agree? In fact, this form of birthright citizenship is destructive to the rule of law. American citizenship is one of the most precious and sought-after privileges on earth. People wait in line for decades to receive a coveted U.S. green card, if they can get one at all. But we've corrupted the whole process by handing out citizenship and residency to people who do not deserve it.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) has proposed the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011 which would stop this practice. The bill has a lot of support in the U.S. House, with 80 co-sponsors. King's bill would require Congress to clarify the meaning of the 14th Amendment to end the practice of automatically granting U.S. citizenship to all U.S.-born children of illegal aliens. We don't need a Constitutional amendment.

Oklahoma State Senator Proposes Guest Worker Program for Illegal Aliens

NumbersUSA: An Oklahoma State Senator has proposed legislation to create a state guest worker program for illegal aliens. Senator Harry Coates of Seminole, Oklahoma submitted Senate Bill 995 last Monday. The bill is a response to House Bill 1804, which cracked down on illegal aliens across the state. The intention of the bill is allow illegal aliens to legally work in the state of Oklahoma, which Coates believes will provide a boost to sales and tax revenues.

"Since the passage of House Bill 1804, we've seen a mass exodus of undocumented immigrants who have taken up residence in Texas and other surrounding states where they pump millions of dollars into those economies," said Coates. "House Bill 1804 did little more than put Oklahoma companies at a disadvantage by sending dedicated, knowledgeable workers to competing companies in other states. Losing that workforce has been devastating for many of Oklahoma's industries including agriculture, energy and construction."

Coates argues that out-of-state companies are now coming to Oklahoma, competing for and winning contracts with the workforce that was driven out of the state by HB 1804.

Under SB 995, the state Department of Labor would be responsible for operating the program. Individuals 18 years or older would be able to purchase a guest worker program for $2000 and find a sponsor who would agree to hire them and provide basic health insurance. For an additional $500, illegal aliens would also be entitled to a immediate family permit that would protect the guest workers immediate family from deportation.

Rep. Randy Terril, the author of HB 1804, called the bill "outrageous", and compared it to selling citizenship. "The bottom line is his proposal is so unbelievably out of touch that I don't think it has a snowball's chance of passing," Terrill said.

Rep. Terril credits HB 1804 with reducing the state's unemployment rate and increasing pay in certain fields. HB 1804 bans workers here illegally from obtaining a government-issued identification card and most forms of public assistance or entitlements. It makes it a felony to harbor, transport, conceal or shelter an illegal alien. The bill also requires public employers to verify the legal status of all employees.

Farmers and Ranchers Security Assistance Program

American Borders has announced a new volunteer program called FARSAP (Farmers and Ranchers Security Assistance Program). Under this program, any rancher or farmer who would like security assistance for his property can get it from our border group. Our group is made up of patriotic former military and law enforcement individuals who believe that since the federal government will not do it's job, we American citizens will! We have ranchers and farmers who are being intimidated and in some cases forced off of their properties, some of which have been in their families since the mid 1800s. These Americans should not be forced to wear body armor, as one federal agent suggested, as they work their fields. Basically, the feds have given up. We haven't! We believe with cooperation between farmers, ranchers and security personnel, a solution can be found.

Since 2005, volunteer border watchers have proven that all it takes to secure a border is boots on the ground. I have personally helped in the apprehension of groups one night, then had no activity the rest of the operation due to smugglers using other routes. This proves that when you have people on site and actively patrol your operation area, smugglers will stay away. We have worked many ranchers properties where illegal activity dropped to near zero levels depending on the size of our security force and the size of the property in question.

The more properties ranchers and farmers lose mean family history that is lost. It also means our food producing systems in this country get tighter and tighter and prices go up. We are looking to stop these problems by offering trained security personnel for those ranchers and farmers who want it. Dear Senator Harkin,
As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications , as well as 'in-state' tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative.
