Automattic, the commercial arm of the popular platform WordPress publishing blogs, received $ 29.5 million in funding from four companies, including a small part of The New York Times Company.

WordPress is open-source software used by bloggers to publish messages. Its main competitors are Blogger (owned by Google) and TypePad (owned by the software company Six Apart).

Automattic received $ 1.1 million in funding over two years. Polaris Venture Partners, True Ventures Partners and Radar were joined by the Times Company, in the second round of financing.

Toni Schneider, the CEO of Automattic, said the additional funds would provide the company with a profitable stamp, as it invests in other services, including a spam filter and an online identity-product.

The companies did not disclose the size of each investment firm, although the Thursday Times Company is the smallest.

The Times Company had previously maintained a business relationship with Automattic. The site About.com guide, which was purchased by the Times in 2005, is published using the platform WordPress. The New York Times has also produced more than 50 blogs using the platform.

AOL snaps up blog publisher Weblogs

America Online plans to acquire Weblogs Inc editor blog with the aim of strengthening its presence in the new community of bloggers.

Weblogs, a privately held Santa Monica, California-based company operates 85 blogs with subjects ranging from parents of technology for the cinema. AOL said Thursday that it will integrate the blogs throughout its network, such as within its television, travel and personal finance channels.

"... This combination allows our audiences to be able to make a" deep dive "in a wide range of subjects imperative that keep them interested and entertained on our network of properties, day after day," Jim Bankoff, vice AOL-executive president of programming and products, said in a statement.

Greatfirewallsml.jpgLast November, I wrote a message with a collection of "tools" to facilitate the task of GFC. At the time of writing (literally within hours) Blogspot were released from their "blocked" status in China, and so there was not much use for the otherwise useful PK Blogs site.

A few months later, my predictions tide and change again to be blocked have come true. I was slow to post about this because… really is not very interesting. The blocking and unblocking Blogspot, Wikipedia, BBC News, etc., used to be mysterious, or even harmful. Validations fears that the CPC was watching us. Sort of a 1984 meets 1989.

Now, however, it's just life here. " It's boring, and childish… boring. I visited a number of blogs and Blogspot touches my visitation rights. I am fickle about reading online and often can not be bothered to go through a proxy service (such as those mentioned above).

Au moment de la rédaction (littéralement dans les heures) Blogspot ont été libérés de leur "bloqué" statut en Chine, et donc qu'il n'y avait pas grand-chose pour l'utiliser autrement utile PK Blogs site.

Quelques mois plus tard, mes prédictions de marées et de changer à nouveau d'être bloquée en sont venus vrai. J'ai été lent à la poste au sujet de ce vraiment parce que… ce n'est pas très intéressant plus. Les blocages et déblocages de Blogspot, Wikipedia, BBC News, etc, utilisées pour être mystérieux, voire néfaste. Les validations des craintes que le CPC était de nous regarder. Tri d'un 1984 réunit 1989.

EBay new changes benefited from your sale on eBay
EBay announced a major change on the policies and rules of sale. The sectors affected by the changes that are fresh, eBay PowerSeller rewards and standards.

Here is an overview:

Lower fees
This is good news for eBay sellers lower as a drop in tuition fees in advance the cost of things to sell on eBay. As of February 20, 2008, the insertion fees (fees) for the auction-style, Fixed Price and Store Inventory listings will be reduced according to the tax table on page eBay basic fee.

Starting at $ 1 minimum for the Shop Price and Fixed Price

* The seller may not be able to leave positive feedback to the buyer.
* Positive feedback repeat buyer will comprise a comprehensive vendor Feedback Score.
* Comments left by members older than 12 months will not be counted towards your comments percentage.
* If a buyer does not respond to the Unpaid Item process (UPI) eBay will remove the negative or neutral feedback they have left for this transaction.
* EBay will remove all negative and neutral feedback left by members who have been suspended.
