How to Start a Start Up Part One

I recently decided to start a new online business and it is one that you can follow. In the past I made money online writing articles for clients and customers that found me on Fiverr. If you don't know, Fiverr is a website where people go to purchase almost anything that can help them in their business.

So I chose as my new start-up a business model that is needed and inexpensive to start. Basically, I am teaching people how to make money online as a freelancer for Fiverr. I will take them from an absolute beginner and then teach them how to run a very successful business. I guess you can call me a business coach but I really don't look at it this way. Instead, I am just helping along the way and passing on my knowledge.

The challenge to starting a business is really to focus on what you wish to do and have some sort of business plan on how it is going to make money for you. I recommend that you write out a detailed 2 or 3 page plan and read it each day for a week or so before starting anything. This should help you think of new ideas and then you can revise your plan. In this post, I will share my first page of my business plan because it is essential that I get it right or else the rest of my plan will suffer. I believe that when you are starting a business, you have to make sacrifices in the beginning. If you are not willing to make sacrifices, it will be very hard for you to get through the first couple years which may be a tough time for your business.

So ask yourself that question right now. Are you willing to make the sacrifices needed in order to start a start up? I am, so let me tell you what they are for me.

BUSINESS PLAN

The first thing I am going to do is rebrand my name because so many people cannot pronounce my last name and they repeatedly spell it wrong. This will adversely affect my business and branding because I will lose customers.

So my new brand name will be Jeff Trainor. I think most people will be able to remember the name Jeff Trainor and it is not difficult to spell. Perhaps, I should have spelled it "Trainer" but I didn't.

My new business will utilize Google Ads as the primary method to gain new subscribers and because I am taking this business seriously, I will pay $99.00 per month for good business software. My advertising budget in the beginning will be $50 per month and that money is coming from a sacrifice. I am keeping a cheap phone so that I can use the money for Google ads.

The $99.00 fee for my software will come from my eBay sales and will be paid in full by money I have saved up if I do not sell enough. This I can sustain for a couple years while my business grows.

Selling digital products is a lucrative way to make a lot of money online. As long as the products that you offer are good, your return rate will be low and your profits will increase.

The green price means that it sold for this amount. The original price of this domain was most likely around $15.

Many domains are purchased for under 20 dollars and then sold for hundreds of dollars. Here are a few that sold this year on ebay.

$888.00 is a hefty profit on a domain that was purchased probably for under 20 bucks.

Sometimes you can take advantage of a current situation and make money selling domains related to it. This domain was bought cheaply and sold for a huge profit. The covid disease led to people buying domains like this one:

If you notice a common theme, you will notice that people are more inclined to buy top level premium domains with the .com extension. But .org domains can also sell well. Here is an example of one that recently sold.

I sell digital products but to be honest, I have not made money selling domains. The ones I chose apparently were too average and nobody wanted them. I am still holding onto a couple though so maybe in the future I will score.

Usually when you mention a digital product to someone, they automatically think of ecourses. Ecourses sell really well on the internet because people need help doing stuff. They might need help navigating through a particular website or they might need help growing huge tomatoes in their garden.

I heard about Clickfunnels a couple of years ago and checked it out and was impressed with the software. The only problem is that I can't afford $97.00 a month to use it. The quick and simple answer is "Yes." However, the amount of money you can make with a blogger blog varies quite a bit. The factors are the name of your blog, the length of time your blog has been on the internet, and how many posts your blog has.

I started this blog a long time ago and quite frankly I can't remember how long it has been. But I can honestly tell you this: this blog gets more traffic from search engines than all of my 10 other websites combined after about a year and a half that they have been up and running.

I contribute this to the fact that many people are looking for legitimate ways to make money online. And, with a blogger blog it is free so all you have to do is start writing and wait for the traffic to start coming in.

In this post, I will cover the easiest ways to make money with your free blogger blog. The key again is to pick a good title for it and you do this by searching the keywords. I did not do that with this blog but the keywords "money" and "money maker" are pretty good. Money maker gets about 5 thousand searches per month. And, just money gets hundreds of thousands. However, the competition is stiff and my blog shows up way down the ladder for those keywords.

When you make a blogger blog, first think about the products that you would like to sell. For example, right now I am offering you a Clickbank product on how to make money online. My favorite affiliate program is called, "Clickbank." Clickbank allows you to make money by selling mostly digital products and earning a great commission. Some of the commissions you receive will be in excess of 50% of the sales price of the item and for each sale you can make as much as $100!

Most of the products that I offer, I receive a commission of around $25.00. This can add up fast if you know what you are doing. There are many YouTube videos that seek to teach you on how to make money through Clickbank. In this short post, I am going to teach you how you can get started for free.

It does not cost anything to sign-up at Clickbank to sell other people's products. This is the beauty of Clickbank. You can try it out and see if you like affiliate marketing without spending any money. I don't make any money plugging Clickbank. So if you do decide to join, I did not make anything. The reason I am promoting it is because I plan on having products for sale there soon and perhaps you can sell one of my products and make commissions and it is a win=win for both of us.

I will be brutally honest about something. It is very hard to get traffic to your blog to sell Clickbank products. Clickbank products do sell pretty well, depending on what they are. However, you have to have visitors to your blog or else you won't sell anything. Think of it like this, you build a store in the middle of a forest with a rough dirt road that only big trucks can ride down. Maybe one or two trucks passes your store each day. How many sales do you think you will make?

It is the same thing with the internet. You can have the best blog online but if nobody sees it, you will make no money. It takes months for people to find your blog unless you advertise it. So this is where your cost comes in. In order to make money, you need to spend money on advertising. If you don't want to do this then this is what you can do.

You can set up a blog with a Clickbank product link and wait for your first sale. It might take a year. But eventually, you will make a sale. When you do, you take that money and toss it into advertising so that you make more sales.

One of the quickest ways of making Clickbank sales without spending money is by doing YouTube videos on a topic that is close to a Clickbank product and then putting a link in your video description to your blog where you sell the product. For example, in your video you can talk about different kinds of exercises that help you build muscle and then tell people to hop over to your blog for a couple more. When they get to your blog you also have a link to a Clickbank product and when they buy it, you make money.

The best and fastest way to make money on Clickbank is through Google Advertising. On Google ads, you place a catchy ad that people click on and go straight to your blog. They then, hopefully, click on your Clickbank product offer and check out the product and buy it. When they do, hopefully, you made more money than you spent on advertising.

I have found for products that I offer that it takes about 100 clicks at Clickbank to sell a product. So it is very important that you try to pay less than 10 cents for each click that you pay Google. If you are paying more in advertising than you make at Clickbank it is of course not worth it.

My Problems with Teechip Today October 25, 2018.

Like I said before, so far I have really enjoyed designing shirts to sell through Teechip. Having said that, I am running into some issues that need to be addressed. I bought my own domain name through Teechip but as of today, I would not recommend you do that. It cost me $50 USD and so far I have just had problems with it.

There are quite a few glitches that need to be addressed and I have spent two days trying to get in touch with someone. So, that is another problem. Currently, it is very hard to get in touch with their customer service if you have an issue. I just went ahead and ordered a couple shirts so that I could tell how efficient Teechip is when it comes to fulfilling orders and their print quality.

If they have problems doing this, I am probably going to be gone and I will start over with another tee shirt company. The reason I am telling you this is so that you can avoid paying out money and save you lots of time and frustration.

I figured out that I lost a lot of my money when I advertised my storefront because of the top links on the page. People were clicking on those links and going into another area of the Teechip store before probably even browsing my items. That is where my paid clicks went. I do not think that is fair to the storefront owner and is another issue that I don't like. However, maybe in the long run that could actually benefit my storefront as my shirts will appear when people are searching for what they want at other storefronts.

So far I am undecided as to if this is a worthwhile venture. If you decide to do it before I am done reviewing them, do not pay for your own domain until they work out the bugs. You can get started for free and that is how most people do it I bet. I am going to be making a video soon showing you the problems with my store on the Teechip domain. I really do think they are trying to have a great system and they just need to work out the kinks. I will let you know in a future post when the domain problems have been addressed. If not, I'm out 50 bucks and won't do it again next year.

Teechips Order Fulfillment Initial Review

Ok so I ordered some t shirts from Teechip to inspect the quality and I am pleased with how the order process is going. Teechip sends you a receipt with an order number that you can use on the homepage to track your order. This feature of the website is really nice and I went there today and could plainly see that my order is in the printing process.

I like this feature a lot and I know my customers will really appreciate it. Soon after I receive my shirts and sell some shirts, I will be coming out with my total review of Teechip. I also did hear back from customer service and they answered my questions. Took a little longer than I anticipated but, hey, sometimes people just get busy.

So far I am happy with Teechip. I will let you know more once I have the product in hand.

Evaluating Teespring Today

Today I went to Teespring and evaluated them as a possible tee shirt supplier. They have a very well put together website and I was really impressed with their customer service chat. A huge plus compared to Teechip which so far I rank as having poor customer service.

Will I switch to Teespring? I very well might. But I will give Teechip a chance and am patiently waiting for my first order to arrive. As of today, October 26, 2018 Teechip is less expensive than Teespring is on one shirt. And, if you order more than one shirt, Teechip is far cheaper.

Teespring advertises free shipping which is nice but Teechip is still cheaper including their shipping. Not by much but noticeable. This price cut becomes very large if you are ordering more than one shirt so in the long run you will save a lot of money by using Teechip.

Having said that, so far I am really not happy with Teechips customer service. When I ordered shirts I did not even know that the order went through. I had to check Paypal. Shortly after though, I did receive an email from Teechip giving me my order number.

As a guy just starting out selling t shirts, I think that the cost is very important. I can do without great customer service right now in order to make some money. Perhaps Teechip will work on this area and pay more people to help them with customer service. Maybe they have growing pains.

Teechip Campaign 4 Results

So I had a graphic designer design my latest graphic and I am very pleased with it. I advertised it again on Facebook and had very poor results. The ad was very targeted and either the people did not like the shirt or they just were not in a buying mood.

Nevertheless, today is October 25th and I still have no tee shirt sales. I have decided to take a different approach with this business. I will order shirts that have my designs on them and see if I can sell the physical product on eBay, Amazon, and Facebook groups. If this does not work, I can always go to flea markets and see what I can get for them. I like to go to flea markets to find items to sell on eBay so I have no problem doing this.

So today I am not going to advertise but I did place an order. I am very pleased with Teechips order process. It is simple, quick, and efficient. Soon I will be able to comment concerning the product quality.

Everybody buys tee shirts but it is not a "must have now" item. People will substitute for price and you have to make a really great design to catch your markets attention. Maybe all of my designs sucked so far and nobody wants them. That is why I decided to sell them myself. I will use Teechip as my screen printer for now until my sales can justify paying for advertising.

I am also going to put more emphasis on my Facebook Tee shirt page, TiggsDiggs and boost some posts to get some likes. I am a basic graphic designer so I can also make a few bucks doing this. When I design hot selling shirts, I am going to start an affiliate program for individuals that would like to make money helping me sell my tee shirts.

I still have no problems with the Teechip tee shirt program. I will keep you informed on such things as sales through their website (passive) and other things that may crop up over time. Stay tuned to see if this is a profitable venture or if I recommend staying away from it. It is still too early for me to tell but I will know within the next month or so.

The main problem appears to be driving enough traffic to my storefront to make any sales. So what I am going to do is start making YouTube videos of my products and market that way also.

Currently, these are my results: $50 for the website set-up (which you do not need), plus roughly $60 in Facebook ads that flopped. I ordered two shirts today for another $18 and will see if I can make money on them. I will be posting my progress soon. I think that by now a lot of people are advertising Tee shirts and most people just don't click on the ads.

I learned a long time ago when it comes to Internet Marketing that it is much better to have a system in place that people can search for and find, then blasting ads at them. People do not want to quit what they are doing to hop over to some ad. That is mostly the truth. And, my ad campaigns with the tee shirts once again verified that.

Teechip Campaign 3 Results

I am beginning to get the feeling that this business is going to be a flop. Once again, I have no tee shirt sales to report and have spent money advertising and quite a bit of time designing the shirts.
Teechip recommends Facebook advertising and so far I have found it to be unproductive and expensive.

As you can see by my results, I have had 19 people (and paid for more clicks than that) visit my Teechip promotion and not one person bought anything. They may have found my products to be too expensive so in my next campaign, I am going to reduce the prices so that I make barely a profit to see if I can get a sale or two. Anyway, this is disappointing. The key factor in having success with this business is twofold. One, you need to drive a lot of traffic to your tee shirt campaigns. And, two, your designs have got to be good. I thought I had a winner with this one but so far zippo.

As of today October 10/19/2018, I am down $77.14 with this business and I have zero sales. I am going to run one more campaign and if it shows no results, I am not going to advertise on Facebook anymore. The cost per click is expensive and I don't think it is worth it. I have other ideas in mind for this business and am not ready to give up on it yet.

The above shows my Teechip campaign advertising cost thus far. Remember, it cost me $27.14 for my own domain name and then $27.14 in total spent on advertising. No sales yet.

Teechip Campaign 3 Results So Far

So today is October 23, 2018 and I have been with Teechip since October 14th. I still have not sold a single tee shirt and am feeling disappointed. I must reiterate, though, that it is not Teechips fault. I still like their set-up a lot and have become a master at negotiating through their website.

I feel that I am going to design some tee shirts that do really well and I believe that once you have a good shirt, it will make quite a bit of money. Maybe I am wrong and I will go broke trying this business but I am not ready to throw in the towel yet.

Today I changed from advertising a single shirt to advertising my entire website with lots of shirts. My reasoning is that shoppers will have more of a variety to shop from and will buy something. As I am writing this, I have no sales and 6 people have come to my store. When 25 people have seen my store and not purchased anything, I am calling it quits for this campaign.

My campaign right now is geared towards the Jewish holiday Hanukkah. I made several humorous designs and I trying to sell a variety of products with the designs on them. In addition to tee shirts, I am selling beach towels, phone cases, and mugs.

Perhaps the problem is that I am advertising too far in advance. That is the reason I have become stubborn and I am still thinking that I will make money with this campaign. I have quite a bit of ground to make up in sales so I hope that I start selling some products. In my next post, I will show you the results of my sales when I hit 25 people visiting my Teechip storefront. Hopefully, I will have a few sales. Otherwise, I did a lot of work for nothing and will begin again with a brand new campaign. Please don't forget to subscribe and follow this blog. Teechip Tee Shirts -My Second Campaign Results

Ok so after a few days I am losing money. I have had a shirt design fail me and am now moving on to a different design. I am down $67.86 and I would like to recover that with this campaign. I designed what I thought was a really nice dachshund design and moved quickly into advertising it on Facebook.

My ad performed well and was getting a lot of hits. Once again, I was excited to log in to Teechip and see all of my sales. Disappointed struck me again! Not one sale. Once again, I sat and wondered why people are clicking through and then not buying. Could it be my price was too high? Perhaps.

In my next campaign, I am going to lower prices way down in order to see if I can get a sale or two. But for this one, the ad was performing well so I let it go and now I am down a total of $77.14. This is getting expensive in a hurry and I have not one sale to show for it. Granted the $50.00 is only a yearly fee so actually, I am only down $27.14. But I am not a rich guy and I don't have hundreds to toss into a business before I start to see results.

This was disappointing to say the least. 28 people clicked through and came to my Teechip website and not one of them bought the shirt. I still have not sold one shirt! All I can think about is that people are bailing out on my website and going to the main site of Teechip and finding shirts to buy there so I am advertising for them free of charge! Once again, it is not their fault that my shirt is not selling but it is disheartening to watch the money in your advertising account pile up while you make nothing to show for it.

The above are my advertising costs for the first five days. No sales. 1.982 people have seen my shirts and $27.14 spent without any results. This business might not be for me but I am going to do something drastically different for my next campaign. First, I am going to greatly reduce the price of the shirts. Secondly, I am going to have a much larger selection, meaning that I am going to design at least three different shirts and advertise them on my Teechip website. My theory here is that there will be more to choose from and I will get some needed sales.

Teechip Online Tee Shirt Business - First Campaign

So for my very first campaign, I decided to design a shirt for people in the beekeeping industry. I found the market to be large enough so I chose some clipart from my Serif Drawplus software and got to work on a cool tee shirt design.

I came up with a design that I thought would sell and ran with it. I immediately made my first mistake by advertising it wrong on Facebook. I chose "Promote Offer" and what this does is advertise your offer to more people by advertising your Facebook page.

When you do this, your customers have to click twice to get to your sale item and you lose them along the way. It can be a costly mistake and let me show you how much it cost me.

You can see that my ad reached 568 people but only three people clicked on it. Not a very good response rate and my cost per click was roughly $3.00. That would not have been too bad if all of the clicks resulted in sales but they didn't. In fact, I didn't get a single sale so now I am down $9.00 in advertising on the first day. I have some catching up to do.

I changed my ad and changed my promotion method to get more "Website Visitors" since I am selling the shirts on Teechip's website with my own domain page. On day two I was happy with my ad results. Here they are:

You can immediately see that the second way of promoting a tee shirt is far better. Website Promotion resulted in 16 clicks for only $5.00 spent. When I saw this, I was excited. How many sales did I have? Surely, I must have some. Well, disappointment again. Out of the 16 clicks and $5.00 spent, I sold zippo. I came to the conclusion that the reason I did not sell any shirts was that:

1. My design was no good and people were clicking to see what other shirts I had.
2. My shirts were overpriced.
3. The customer was afraid to purchase the shirt because they never heard of Teechip.
4. It was just people clicking on ads inadvertently.

Whatever the reason, now I am down my $50 set-up fee plus $14.30 Facebook advertising for a total of $64.30 down. It is apparent that maybe this is going to cost quite a bit before I find a design that will sell. Maybe I will go broke first. Advertising is not cheap.

Anyway, I figured that with 19 people clicking through and seeing my shirt and no sales, that I had a loser that would cost me greater losses in the long run. But, I wanted to make sure. I changed my ad and I changed my ad targeting to a more narrow focused group. This is what happened the next day.

I went with just people interested in beekeeping. That was all.

On the second day of my first campaign, I drove 12 views to my Teechip website and my sales again were zippo. So, in summation, 29 people came to see my shirt and nobody bought it. To me, that was the signal to quit marketing it. I spent another $3.56 in Facebook advertising so now I am down $67.86. At this rate I will be broke quickly so I better pick a design that sells.

Since I like dogs, I thought of a nice design I could make to sell to dog owners.

In my next post I will cover my second campaign which was a tee shirt designed for dachshund owners. I am still not disappointed with Teechip. It is not their fault that my design does not sell. I really like the way they are set-up and they make it easy for tee shirt sellers. I just hope that I can take advantage of it and start a profitable business within a short period of time.

Teechip Online Tee Shirt Sales Review -Introductory

Today in 2018 I am making some money from eBaying but I would like to make a lot more money. So I have decided to try my hand at selling T-shirts online and thought I would post my successes and failures.

I heard from YouTube videos that you can make quite a bit of money selling t-shirts so I recently opened up an account at a company called Teechip. I decided to purchase a domain name called TiggsDiggs because I also sell on Etsy and Amazon homemade hemp products so I might as well keep the name for my tee shirt company.

One thing I am going to do, win or lose, is post a lot of videos on YouTube. I will post the videos on this blog too so please follow it for updates so that you could either duplicate what I am doing or save yourself a lot of money from my mistakes.

The first thing I would like to say about Teechip is that it is not a scam. I have fallen victim to quite a few scams over the years and this is not one. Once you get set up, you can see that the potential is there to make money. In fact, I love their system but I don't love my results yet.

So far, I have spent $50 to buy the domain name and the website. And, I have hit $50.00 in Facebook advertising without any tee shirt sales yet. Not good. But, it is not the fault of Teechips. Apparently, nobody likes my tee shirt designs yet or I have overpriced them. Soon I will post the images of my tee shirts that resulted in zero sales.

Everybody wears Tee shirts and although it is a competitive market, there is a lot of room to make money here. I watched a YouTube video of a guy who said to stick with it and you will hit a home run. It took him like 12 shirts before he hit a home run. Most designs do not sell and you have to find ones that do. Once you find ones that do, aggressively market them, make your losses back, and then make profits.

So I am fifty bucks down in advertising and about to pull the plug on another campaign. I am disappointed but not ready to throw in the towel. Follow my posts and I will keep you updated. I will keep going until I find at least one shirt that sells.

In order to sell tee shirts online, you have to have some special skills or learn them fast. You have to be a good graphic designer to make the tee shirt designs or else hire somebody for that. You have to know how to make a good facebook page and not mess up where you are sending people too ( I did that already). You have to good at designing good Facebook ads. And, most of all, you have to be very familiar with the Teechip website. This is not as easy as it seems, trust me.

I am willing to toss a few hundred dollars at this and if I succeed, you will definitely succeed from my success. I will teach you the ups and downs and everywhere I lost money so that you don't.

So far, I must admit I am way down when it comes to making money online, with the exception of Blogger advertising money. I have failed at MLM's because I have found that your downline will not do much work to help you make money, I have been the victim of a $300 scam where I was supposed to make money finding lost people. I joined a company called SFI and this resulted in a loss of a couple hundred dollars. I have tried affiliate marketing and have lost a lot of money on advertising products that do not sell. I have lost money trying to sell ebooks. I would say that I am down around $4000 but I am not one to give up. I will make the tee shirt business work and if not, you will learn from all my mistakes.

If I do not make good money by the end of 2019, I will be giving up the Tee shirt business and moving onto something else. One thing for sure now is that I can spot scams a mile away so I am much wiser and only try things that I know have valid potential. New Online Money Making Training

I decided to start blogging about my past experiences as an Internet Marketer and blogger. The truth is that I have had many failures throughout the past 10 years online and I wanted to teach you them so that you don't make the same mistakes.

Not making mistakes will save you a great deal of time and we all know that time is money. Contrary to what many marketers will tell you, making money online is not easy. It is not a get rich quick thing. It's just like any other physical business in that it takes a while to get going.

When I started online, I wanted to get rich quick and didn't want to put in the work. I joined a couple multi-level marketing programs thinking that I could amass a fortune quickly. Boy, was I wrong. I quickly found out that mlm's are not the way to make money, at least not a lot of money.

It is hard to form a downline that actually works. Why? Because they have this mindset. Why should I work my butt off to make the people above me rich? Unless your downline is successful quickly, they will lose interest and quit and that leaves you always scrambling to recruit more people into your downline. Forget any products that you might be offering, the shift is to build your downline and sell them on selling others into the program.

I got sucked into SFI which I didn't like. I joined Global Domains and failed miserably because I didn't like the products I was trying to sell others on. And, I also joined up with this guy that said you could make a quick fortune by helping people search for others online. I can't remember the guys name but he sold you on the program by showing off his huge house and fancy cars and the fact is he was the only one making big money.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is. There are some programs out there that are legitimate but they usually exaggerate and this makes me skeptical. Then I came across a book that changed my way of thinking.

Everybody that wants to make a living or get rich online should read the book that I recommend.
No, I am not getting any type of compensation by promoting this book. I just know for a fact, it changes the way you think about making money online. It makes you realize that this is a business not some fly by night money making opportunity.

This is where blogging comes in. I have used the information in the book to enhance my blogs. And, I know it works. If I would have read this book when I first started out, I would have been a millionaire by now. But, I am working towards that now.

This book is packed so full of information that I am reading it now for the third time. I suggest that when you read it you take your good old time and absorb the information in it. It's not a new book, it came out in 2010, however; the information has not changed much. And, making money online is all about keeping up with the technology.

In order to prove to you that I am not receiving any money for promoting this book, I want you first to be serious about making money online. And, to be serious about making money online you have to do some of your own work. So here is your job for today. Google search, "The Six Figure Second Income - How to start and grow a successful online business without quitting your day job.

If you do this, you have succeeded. You will find the book. It sells for $25.00 but you probably go to Amazon and find it cheaper ( I'm an Amazon affiliate and could have made some money here but I want you to know for a fact that I recommend this book on it's content not so I can make a few bucks off of some book I did not read.)

In case you are questioning me, I can attest to the fact that the authors of the book have made millions online. And, if you follow the book to the tee you just might also. So, you can either continue following this blog, which I hope you do, and learn a lot of the information I learned from the book and how you can implement the information step by step or you can just disappear and join some program that seems to make people rich easily.

However, if you do the latter, don't be surprised if it takes you 20 years of trying to figure out this whole online money making thing. Over on the right is my sign up form. Bloggers Should Offer Domains & Hosting to Their Readers

Google Adsense will make you some money if you have a large readership, but I am a fan of affiliate product marketing. There are currently thousands of affiliate programs online that you can join to market their products to your readers. I believe that one of the best affiliate programs to offer is a domain registrar company that also includes hosting and website services.

One such company that I have been working with is GoDaddy. GoDaddy is the number one domain registrar in the world and for good reason. Their prices are low in comparison with the competition and they also have many other products that can go along with a domain purchase.

If you join Conversant, formerly Commission Junction, you will discover that a lot of affiliates market GoDaddy. This is most likely due to the fact that they have an excellent EPC. For those of you who do not know, EPC means the affiliate earnings on average per 100 ad clicks. A high value means that a lot of customers are impressed with the company, resulting in high sales.

You might ask the question, “If GoDaddy is so huge and is doing so well, why would they still need affiliates to help market their products?” This answer is simple; all the affiliates are helping to drive the sales. Sure, GoDaddy spends millions on advertising; however, it is their affiliates that bring them lots of customers each and every day.

GoDaddy provides affiliates with great promotions that aid in obtaining more sales. As an affiliate, you can change your links and banners regularly to showcase these great sales. This is the reason why a lot of people click on GoDaddy links and end up purchasing products from their easy to follow website.

As a blogger, your readers all have internet access. And, many of them are website owners or are going to become website owners. Domains are a good choice for bloggers which currently blog on subdomains, those who wish to make money online, those who want to do any kind of business online, and those who just want to have a personal website so that the family can keep abreast of family activities. Also, there are a lot of individuals and companies that buy domains in hopes of selling them for huge amounts of money in the future.

Domains are big business. The highest selling domain, according to Erik Overen was Insurance.com at 35.6 million in 2010. Just look at this chart that I have compiled from Wikipedia. Many domains are worth millions and in the future many more will be!

There are millions of domains currently registered. And, GoDaddy has registered the majority of them. More and more domain extensions are becoming available do to the fact that the market for domains is still increasing. So my burning question is, “as a blogger, why are you not taking advantage of this huge market and marketing domains, websites, and hosting to your readers?”

Many times when someone purchases a domain; they also choose additional products to go along with it. Some of the products that they can choose is a website, hosting and storage, a private server, shared servers, search optimization tools, extended period domains, blog hosting, SSL Certificates, online stores, shopping carts, and the list goes on. Sales of these products greatly increase your affiliate commissions.

A typical commission on domains and domain products can be very high. Only one sale per month can be more than you regularly make with Google Adsense ads. Here is a secret that I will tell you today which is in December of 2015. I know of a website hosting company that will pay you $100 USD for each sale. Now do you see why as a blogger you should be marketing domains and web hosting?

If you do not like GoDaddy or would rather market some other companies products and services, there are many to choose from. The hosting company I mentioned above is not GoDaddy, although it is very possible to make $100 USD on sales made at GoDaddy.

I am not in a hurry to abandon GoDaddy, though. I have been using them for years and am very happy with their products and great customer service. I have bought servers from other hosting companies and ran into problems. GoDaddy has always been able to help me out.

If you just have Google Ads on your blog, you are missing out on a lot of money making opportunities. By simply joining an affiliate company and placing a few links in your blog, I can almost 100% guarantee that you will make more money blogging. The main problem with making money blogging is usually traffic flow.

You can have the best blog in the world but if only 3 people find it a day, you are not going to be making much money. However, if you do have good traffic flow it is time to monetize your blog with affiliate ads and think about getting rid of others that can alter the look of your blog and actually turn your readers the other way.

In conclusion, I hope that I have enlightened some of you and you’ll decide to market affiliate products on your blog or blogs. The main thing to do if you decide to place affiliate links is to always keep them current. Dead links or links that are outdated confuse your readers and they will stop clicking on them. If you keep them current, you can reflect on the most recent sales and your readers will appreciate them.

Many people don’t tell others to market affiliate products on their blog because they are afraid of the competition. But let me tell you, there really is no such thing as competition online. Utilize your competition to actually help you and in return you will get more sales. I came across a quote online that I would like to share with you. “Competition makes us faster, Collaboration makes us better.” –FyreFly. It makes total sense to me when you are a blogger. You are much better off working with other bloggers to achieve steady income results than you are being a lone wolf and trying to devour them.

Keep Blog Posts Short and Informative.

What is the ideal length of a blog post? Well, you might be surprised to find out that to maximum blogging efforts your blog posts should be 150 words or less. That is not many, just look at this post for I am up to 45 words already.

According to John Tesh at Tesh.com, the average iphone can display approximately 150 words. Many people read while they are on a subway or they are standing in a grocery line. Quick reading; they read a page and they are done.

Many ebook writers are now taking this into account when writing ebooks. I might add here too, that the sales of Kindles are going down as more and more people opt for iphones. This post I got from listening to the Tesh show and I thought I would pass it on.

So basically within the first 150 words of your blog post you should have some kind of call to action like this real one of mine: Interested in selling Tee shirts from your blog? Click here and follow my experience!

Well, this post is about at length so I will conclude it by saying time to write posts in Word so you know exactly how many words your blog posts are.

There are a couple of exceptions to this rule. If you are content writing and want to be placed high up in search engine results, you will want long blog posts of 1000 to 2500 words. But mix in some short posts for those readers who are checking you out on their phones. And don't forget to put some kind of action link in the short reads.

2015 Blogging Tips 101.

Last night I heard on the John Tesh show that 25% of adults admit to not even reading one book in the last year. So, if this huge number of people is not reading books what are they doing?

I researched this topic and discovered that watching TV is still the number one leisure activity. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average person spends 2.8 hours a day watching TV. But this is the startling truth: Young people are reading less and less.

Time spent reading for personal interest and playing games or using a computer for leisure greatly varied by age. People aged 75 and over averaged 1.0 hours of reading per weekend day. On the other hand, teenagers only read about 8 minutes per weekend day. Look at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics table 11: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/atus.t11.htm for it is shocking how little people spend time reading these days.

So, if reading is on the way out, how can you possibly make money blogging. It sounds like a bad time investment, does it not? At first glance, it does seem that what is the use in blogging if nobody is going to read it. However, if you tailor your blog posts to a certain age and keep them consistent for this age group, you can capture an audience.

Blogging tip number 1 - Blog to older people!

Maybe they want to read about what made them happy as kids.
Maybe they want to read about old stuff like old t.v shows, crafts, old furniture, etc.
What was popular 50 years ago? These topics will be hot blogs. Drive-In movies, old movie stars, etc. etc.
Blog about money, stocks, bonds, retirement income and anything else that can benefit older people like hospital equipment, news on aging. etc. etc.

If you blog to older people it will be easier to capture a greater readership due to sheer numbers of older people reading. However, older people may tend to stick with the older ways and may prefer reading actual page books than to read blogs on the computer. For this reason, the next age group you should target is individuals aged: 45 to 54.

Blogging Tip number 2- Blog to the 45 to 54 age group.

This age group is where the money is. They are old enough to still like reading, (on average they read 15 to 20 minutes a day on the weekends) they generally have money to buy stuff from your blog, and they are growing older and will read more in the future which provides a larger readership for your blog.
This age group is generally less technologically advanced, meaning it is a great group for blogs that teach people how to do something or for blogs that compare products that they might buy.

Blogging Tip number 3 - Forget about the kids.

The kids are in a new technology world full of video games, YouTube, socializing with friends and could care less about reading your blog. If you tailor a blog meant for teenage reception, watch out as the average teenager reads only 8 minutes a day. That means that there are a whole lot of them that never read outside school.

Help the aging population with your blog and it will grow faster than if you are targeting young people. You might need to "ground pound" it a little which I will go over in a different post, however, you are going to have a more successful blog if you go this route.

Why Multi-level Marketing or MLMs End Up in Failure.

Blogspot Money Maker is about making money blogging and the ways you can honestly do so. In this post I am going to discuss Multi-level Marketing, better known as MLM's and tell you why, in my opinion, they usually end up in a lot of wasted time with no money to show for it.

First, a little bit of background on myself and why I believe MLM's are no good and blogging is a much better choice to make money over the long term. The date today is November 8, 2015. In 2005, I started my search for the best way to make money online. I did not want a get rich quick scheme because I believe that to get rich quick, you have to take advantage of other people. That is now my outlook with MLM's.

Let me explain. My very first attempt at making money online was by joining an individual who supposedly got rich and started a online search website, I forgot his name but it was something like Tessanara, where you could get paid a lot of money when people searched for data on other people.

It cost a fortune to advertise his program and I was not successful at all. I was out about $400 dollars or so. My second attempt at making money was an online domain registrar "Global Domains." Have you ever heard the saying that you better love what you are selling? Well, these websites were cheap and you could hardly do anything with them. I think you had to pay $10 a month for your cheap website with hosting. Now, they wanted you to sell their websites to other people in a MLM scam like this: I tell someone to buy a cheap website and they buy it and I get $1.00 a month as long as they keep the website. I also get $1.00 a month from people that buy the website from them. So eventually, I just get to kick back while the money rolls in without me having to do much, if any, work. The lure of big money for doing nothing is very appealing to a lot of people. And, that is what the people on top of the MLM know. They know that people will work hard to try to secure big paychecks without much effort later.

Here is the big problem with that premise: When I am a few people down the ladder, why should I bust my butt to sell the product and make the people above me wealthy when they are just sitting on their duffs?

If you are not near the top of an MLM this is what you will find. The people below you will lose interest very fast and move on to something that they think they can do to make money.

To make legitimate money, you need your own business where you can offer your own products or other people's products (affiliate products) that you honestly believe in. Forget about the scams where your only concern is how much money you will make. In my opinion, you will be disappointed in the end.

The way that you can see right through any product or service and see if they are what I call a scam is by testing it by the following sentence.

How do you make your money?

Do you make your money by selling a product or
Do you make your money by recruiting people to sell your service or products?

For example, let's say that you are supposedly selling a Mortgage Acceleration Program where people can join and reduce the number of years that they pay on their home mortgage. You buy stuff from the company to help you sell the system to other people. You buy a website, business cards, and educational cd's to help you recruit more people to sell the program.

In actuality, the Mortgage Acceleration Company is making a ton of money on you when you buy all this stuff to help you recruit more people to buy more stuff. Your focus for making money shifts from selling the product to recruiting others to sell the product. Now, you want them to buy more stuff that is not even related to the product but instead the emphasis becomes how much money you can make selling all of this fluff which is unrelated to the product.

This, in my opinion, is a very unethical business practice. Why not just create your own product or sell someone else's product or products that you, yourself, benefited from?

MLM's have given legitimate ways to make money online a bad name. Many people think it is all a scam. However, making money running your own blog with a niche of your choosing is not a scam. It is 100% your own business. Sure, you can sell affiliate products if you want to. But, these products are one's that you have used and can honestly recommend. Or, they are good add-on products for your product line. The business model for a blog is the same business model as in the outside world. You make a product and sell it. Or, you sell products that you personally endorse or are good products to sell alongside yours. You may want other's to help you sell your products but when you do this, you toss them a bone for doing so.

If I work for a big box store like Wal-mart and I work in the electronics department, I make an hourly or salary wage selling electronics. If, on the other hand, I am a blogger or website owner who sells

Wal-Mart electronics on my site, I make a commission on the sale. You will not pay any more for the item if you buy it from my blog or website. Wal-Mart is happy that I sold it for them and they are happy to give me a commission on the sale. For them, it is like having more employees that they don't have to pay hourly.

I am an affiliate marketer, as well as, a blogger and in this blog I will show you the ins and outs of affiliate marketing because it goes hand in hand with blogging. This post is getting a little long but I just wanted to tell you a story from a couple days ago concerning a friend. My friend asked me this question. Why would anybody buy a product off of your blog or website when they can just go to that store and buy it? Here is the beauty of the answer; it is because you can be an affiliate of multiple stores at the same time and create your own store full of other store's products. You can have a toy from Target, a watch from Dale's Watch Emporium, cookies and candy from Choco's Delicious Goodies at the same website. Wal-Mart sells 500,000 items in their store. Do you know every toy they sell? My point is this. Start a blog with a very narrow niche and exploit that niche and it will be successful. You can blog about ants and termites and then sell ant killer from Lowes, a different ant killer from a Hardware store, and a different one from the company direct. You can have 100 bug killer products from a variety of different stores across the country or even the world.

If you take the time to go to Hear Santa, you will find that I am just brushing the surface as to what I can sell on my website. In 2016, I plan to do a lot more work on the website and offer many more products, even my own. But, you can sell affiliate products only if you want to and not have to ever worry about having inventory. Caution: Do not pay for any program that says something like, you can be an affiliate and sell our products for only $39.99 a month. A legitimate affiliate program makes money for the company and they are more than happy to offer their products to be sold for free once your blog or website is approved. Is There a Super-Fast Way to Move Your Blog Up in Search Engines?

Let's face it; in order to make any money with your blog you are going to have to have some traffic coming to it. You can have the best blog in the galaxy but if you have no visitors coming and reading your content, you will make zippo with your blog.

So how do you get traffic? Is there a super-fast way to move your blog up in the search engines and then you can just kick back while thousands of people swarm to your blog like bees flying to a honey hole. The answer is unfortunately, no.

The goal of having any blog is to provide good content for your readers so that they will come back. Have you ever gone to a website that was just a bunch of links taking you to other pages with absolutely no content for you to read? These hop sites might make some money for the people who placed links on them but I would bet that the return traffic is nil.

Somebody told me the other day that in order to have a good blog that brings in traffic you need to have your own website and have the website as a page and not hosted on a subdomain like "blogspot.com." So, I finally decided to peruse the web looking for the real answers.

I found plenty of so-called SEO pros that confirmed this statement. The truth is I like to have my blog as part of a website anyway because I don't like the real long "blogspot" url. A lesson I will teach soon. However, I don't believe it makes a difference when it comes to traffic. You can do more with an actual website so this is a plus but traffic comes gradually as you keep adding good content.

I have had many websites and a few blogs over the last ten years and I can tell you that I have been happy with how all of my sites were indexed by the search engines. For this reason, I do not recommend spending a lot of money on SEO. What I do recommend is adding good content for your readers that they will want to read.

The robots that the search engines use today are smart and according to the article below they can easily differentiate between websites and subdomains. This means that there is no longer any advantage to hosting your blog on a top level domain.

Create a Twitter Account and Then Place a Twitter Button on Your Blog

The power of social marketing far outweighs sitting back and trying to get your blog posts high up in search engine results. Many people today, like it or not, will not sign-up for any more mail or subscribe to your blog. This is because many people like myself are flooded with hundreds of emails daily and could not possibly get through them all.

You have to very special to get people to sign-up for blog updates through email. On the other hand, there is a much more efficient way to stay in touch with your blog readership. This method includes social media like Twitter or Facebook.

People are far more likely to "follow" you on Twitter and here you can tweet about your latest blog posts and drive people to your blog. And, your followers on Twitter are more likely to revisit your blog if they like what they read.

Having said that, In my opinion I believe a Twitter button is an essential "gadget add-on" for any blog. I have seen people just say; "follow me on twitter" without a button. This tactic certainly will not work as well as an actual button that they can click and go straight to your twitter account.

You can create a Twitter button very fast by going to your blogger layout page and selecting "add a gadget." You then want to go to the "more gadget tab" and search for POWR button. You then can make the button easily by following a couple steps.

My handle on Twitter is @TrafficXchanger and that is what I do. I follow people who follow me and I try to build relationships with these people rather than people I do not know.

According to a recent survey by Twitter, 69% of people buy products from people they either follow or meet on Twitter. Now that is a huge number not to ignore. So, if you do not like social media, you might want to at least rethink your strategies. Twitter allows you to build a rapport with your followers and that is the difference between repeat visitors of your site or just one-time visitors that never come back.

Ideally, as we will discuss later, you do want people to actually sign-up for your blog through email. However, this takes a lot of patience and time that can be bypassed through the use of social media.
