Once and awhile most bloggers find themselves wondering what to blog about next. It happens to all of us once in a while. Sometimes you may lay awake in bed debating on ideas to write about in the following days. Blogger amnesia anyone? It can be a struggle if you are in some kind of writers block, but there are some nice cures for the common aliment. I though I would share a few ways that help me figure out what to write about and get organized and find inspiration and break the bloggers writing block. So what do you do when you have nothing to write about?

Some tips and tricks to find something to write about:

1: Sometimes it’s best just to step away from the keyboard and take a walk around the block or watch some TV or listen to some good music. Anything that will get you away from the computer and come back to a fresh start.

2: Jot down a few ideas/titles and go though and think on each one an see which you like the best.

3: Carry around a tape recorder or your mobile phone (if it has this function) incase an idea comes along. Ideas can pop-up at anytime so its best to keep them stored some how so you don’t forget.

4: Go read a book or magazine. Something may catch your attention or open up your creative ability.

5: Read though other blogs with in your niche. This may start a few sparks.

6: Post a rambling post on your day instead.

7: Post some link love or share your top sites with your readers.

8: Find a new tool or programs and play around with it and write a review.

9: Surf Article sites.

10: Communicate with other bloggers. They may have an idea or two that might be useful.

11: Collaborate with another blogger on a post.

10: Find a guest poster so you can have time to gather your thoughts.

11: Ask your readers what the would like to learn or see on your site. A good way to get ideas and meet your readers needs at the same time. Asking questions never hurts.

12: Check out HitTail.com it will search terms and keywords of your site and give you suggestions to write about.

13: Revisit and old post and add new information.

14: Open up notepad and just start typing what ever comes to mind, or just stare at it.

15: When all else fails… Go to bed and start fresh the next day.

There are a few ideas to start with and get you motivated if you are stuck in a blogging writer block. Some may work differently for different people, but you just have to see what works best for you. Keeping a blog up-to-date on a regular basis is a lot of work and can really burn you down, so I hope these tips may help anyone stuck in this situation.

Wrote this as a guest post a while back. Though I would share it on here.

After working on a recent project for a printing company I though I would share my thoughts on a few of the shopping cart systems that we used. One thing we were looking for was easy design capabilities and easy to add in custom coding for products.

The first one we tired was zencart. Though easy to customize and free, it was not what we were looking for as for as functionality. I did not like much about this one and sought to find something a little more sturdy.

After a quick search of what others thought I found Magento. The magento script was a nice one right out the box, and open source, and easy to install. It was a little hard to learn my way around adding the custom design, but not to hard once you figured out what files were where and what there function was. Not the best template system to them, but better than one of the others. The functions over all were okay, but time consuming on how it was set up to handle multiple options for the same product. And it would have taken ages to add in all the products for the people working on adding them, also not worth all the time to add in all the custom functions for the developer that the site needed.

On to the next one, one of the guys recommended Shopify. This is a online hosted script, an cost $24 – $299 a month it was really quite the shopping cart. It runs on Ruby on Rails, but it was the right package for the job. After learning a little of the Liquid language and the simple to use Vision application that allowed me to run the Shopify shop code on my desktop and edit it from there, then upload the files to the server though the admin panel it was quite an easy task, and fit the bill perfect. The developer was able to do all the custom components and I was able to design the cart with ease.

Depending on the job I would recommend both Magento and Shopify. Both have some great features, just this time around one had a small edge over the other. Shopify was just a great choice for the printing shop, and a great piece of software, though it comes with a cost, if it were for something more than a electronics store or similar I would go with Magento.

How it works:
You can sign up add tutorials or save tutorials to your favs, vote, comment and search tutorials. You also get a profile page when you submit tutorials that list your tutorials and information. Also you can also submit tutorials as a guest if you prefer. All tutorials are a link back to your site, no tutorial is actually hosted on the WPTUT site.

Currently:
At this time the site is a little empty sense this is the 1st few days it is open and I have only shared the link with a few people. I encourage you to register and keep checking back or add your tutorials and build up the site, and register for the feed.

Hopefully in a few days I will do another post to update you on the current status of the site.

Hey everyone. Hope all is going well. I got back from South Carolina with my daughter last Monday. I have been catching up on a lot of other things that needed my attention. Our trip went well and we both had a blast. Spent time with family, went camping at the beach with my mom and step-dad, and just had time to unwind and relax.

So now the bad part is that the other night lightning struck my computer. Yes the reason for the title “Why it’s good to”… Unplug your computer when it’s storming outside. No the lightning did not strike the line outside or the house that would have been nice cause the breakers would have threw. NO the lightning actually hit my computer. How bad does that suck????? So that is a nice little lesson to learn. My new computer was ordered the next day and should be here in a week. I am borrowing a friends laptop for now, so I might not be back in full swing for another week. Mainly using this computer for email and whatnot.

See you soon.

I have had it sitting on my computers desktop for over a month sense I got it when there was a discount code floating around at that time, so i got it for like $20. I had to wait for a few Adtoll ads to run there time before I wanted to make the switch. I have always hear a lot about the plugin so I figured it was worth the money to try it out.

I have to say for the money it is worth it. Not a bad plugin at all. Pretty simple and easy to figure out once I started playing with it and had my 125×125 ads up and running in less than 5 mins and set up a text link spot below the entrecard ads. I still will start to add it to the rest of my ad spots and get rid of the other program I am using soon. OIO Publisher seems like a better option to manage all of my ads with out having to have 2-3 different plugins running them sense I am running one plugin to do regular ads then another plugin for Adsense and so on, this makes it a lot easier to just use one plugin and just set up zones. It also has better tracking than most of the other ones I have used so that is an even bigger plus.

I’m sure many of you have read tons of reviews on this plugin already. I just wanted to do a quick share with you. If you haven’t checked it out or heard of it you can read up on it at the OIO Publisher site and even give it a test run in there demo section. I have yet to test out all of the features and other goodies that come with the program like the marketplace, but I am sure I will get around to it soon. As for using the standard ad manager features I would say it is definitely worth the money to invest in the plugin.

Let me tell you Plane Tickets are a Rip Off. For my and my daughter to fly 500 miles/1000 round trip it was going to cost over $700. Unbelievable. Two years ago we both flew the same trip for like $450. I tried every single Flight Booking site out there and all of them were ranging from $650 to $750 for the flights I wanted to take. I know it’s probably the time we are going, and that I am only booking 3 weeks in advance.

Finally after searching for 2 days I came across Cheaptickets.com. No this is not a paid review for them, just a praise. Cheaptickets saved me about $200 on our flight. Only $505 for us to get to SC from PA. It sounds a lot better than paying $700. Though I prefer to fly with US Airways, and flight in to NC then to SC, the price to depart with Delta to GA and then to SC and return on US Airways though NC was a better deal. Times where a little off from what I wanted to but hey it saved me some money.

What Cheaptickets does is gives you a list of the cheapest options to fly to your destination. So you may have to fly to a different stop or at a odd time but the prices are better than the other booking sites. I have used the others in the past and got okay deals but I think from now on I will check Cheaptickets before I do the others and compare the price.

So it is set I will be on vacation from May 31st – June 8th. I definitely need a getaway. We are visiting my family so that my daughter can have some time with them. I hope to get to the beach and plan a few fun activities, sense my mom has already taken that week off work.

If anyone would like to throw in a guest post for that week let me know.

By the end of the month Max from Sitehoppin is planning to boost up the price of Beer Stocks. The price could jump up from $1 a letter to $10 and from $10 a vowel to $20. This move I think might be a good idea, as I have though from the beginning they were pretty low. What will this do for the site? I think it is a good way to get the Beer Stock Market moving and to have some sales start going through.

The price of stocks already brought can be sold at a higher value and be worth more in the long run once the new price change takes effect. I think for the most part I will keep the price of the ones I am selling at a reasonable price. I believe the highest one I am selling at the moment is SEO for $500. There are a few that are up in the $1k+ range for sell by other users. Will they every sell at this price? I highly doubt it. Though I do believe one did sale for $2500.

So what should you do before this price change? Hurry up and buy all the stocks you can and then sell them once the prices change. Why even buy a stock? It’s a good inexpensive way to gain a lot of low bounce rate traffic. YOu can still get Beer Stocks at $1 for constance and $10 for vowels and get 25% off the original price. Better to jump in now and save some money before the prices jump up at the end of the month.

Hopefully this idea will be good to increase the value of Beer Stocks that are already on the market and get some sales going. Max made a video post about the upcomming news that you can check out here.

In the mean time start buying your Beer Stocks and get 25% off while they are CHEAP.

I have been working on another project of mine and getting it up and running. One of the things I have done so far is ordered a few business cards from two different print companies Vista Print and GotPrint. Both companies I was really happy with the quality and pricing, except shipping that seemed a bit high at each place. I am not sure if a local printer would have the same low price, but may even out from not paying the shipping cost.

In the next few weeks I will have a brochure and a few other materials I would like to get printed. So that is the reason I am trying to figure out the best route to go with this. I’m not sure I want to pay up to $20-$30 for shipping on those items. If anyone knows of a better option that has great quality work and a low shipping cost be sure to let me know.

As far as Vista Print and GotPrint I did enjoy the quality. From Vista I ordered 1000 Cards that was $26.98 then 7 day shipping was $15 for a total of $41.98. I got these cards just matte with no gloss and the quality was very nice. As for GotPrint I ordered 250 Cards with gloss $11.98 with 7 day shipping for $8.69 that came to $20.67. All of these were 4/0 no print on back which I would have liked but wanted to keep the price low. I did order from GotPrint 2 days before Vista Print and the ones from Vista Print showed up earlier than from GotPrint which there is a big difference in there location.

I needed the cards in a hurry I think later on it would not be a problem to pay for cheaper shipping that is still a little on the high side I think, but not to bad. I just would like to see if there are any other great options out there that I might can give a go before I make a decision on other materials that I will need printed in the next few weeks. Got any?
