So I made a Facebook profile. I did it a couple weeks ago just to see if I could find anyone from high school. Didn't really work out because I forgot that I didn't like most of the people I went to school with. Woops. BUT, a lot of my current friends are on there so I figured I'd flesh my profile out a little. Feel free to add me as a friend and check out my ugly mug.

Also, I'm in a group show at Gallery1988 that opens today. It's called "One To Grow On" and it's about the stuff in our childhood that affected out art. I based my stuff on daydreams and themes that dominated my childhood. I've got like 10 pieces in it so I hope it goes well. Check it out if in your LA.

Daily Ink!

So my new favorite weapon is a brush. I really like the lines you can get from it, but I admit I'm not proficient with one yet. I've been doing some illos and comics with one so at least I feel like I'm getting better.

I've decided to do at least one little drawing a day with my brush and post it for the world to see and criticize. I've also added a badge over there to the right that is hooked up to my Flickr "Daily Ink" set. There's also an RSS feed link so you can keep track the lazy way. I hope we can both get something out of this.

So I found a bunch of prints from 2004 that had gotten stuck in a corner during my studio move and whatever else. They are really nice 16"x20" screen prints. I'm putting them on sale because I need to make room for more stuff. I'm selling one for $20 including shipping or BOTH for $30 including shipping. Once you see what's in store for my BushidoBots you might regret not getting some of my first BushidoBot art. Go Get 'Em!!

Hey guys, I entered this design into the Design By Humans ongoing shirt contest.

It's like Threadless, but better. They print on better shirts using all of the coolest new techniques.

My idea for the design is that it would wrap around the back a little.

You will have to sign up for the site(shouldn't take long), but you'd have to sign up for an account to buy their shirts too. And I definitely suggest looking around, they have so many awesome designs. I bought like 4 shirts myself.

In other news, lots of awesome stuff going on. Getting close to a BushidoBot deal where it would be made into an Internet property/brand. We've got an animation company that will start off doing short animations to go along with comics. Hopefully, it will evolve to the point where they're doing much longer animations. There's a lot in store for the BushidoBots and it's going to be awesome.

I'm also working on some other toy deals and finishing up a bunch of pieces for a more exclusive group show at G1988. If you live in LA and haven't been to Gallery1988 you really need to check it out. When I was out in LA for my cartoon stuff I visited and I was just blown away at all the awesome stuff they had. When I finish my pieces for that show this month I will start working on some other comics projects I've been kicking around, so if all goes well 2008-2009 should be the start of some really great stuff!

So I designed a shirt for a local web design company and they finally came in. The print is so nice. They used water-based inks so it doesn't feel all stiff.....it's nice and smooth....the shirt is 100% cotton and real smooth.

They're selling some of them....actually basically giving them away--$12 with shipping!

Sweet Animation

Hey look at this cool little animation my friend Will did for the company he works at--StudioBanks. I did the character art. I also designed a t-shirt with the characters and they will hopefully be turned into a mural soon.

So I updated the site a little. Put some new stuff in the gallery section. Well, sorta new. It's all just more current. Still have a little work to do. The new site I build will have a gallery that updates every time I upload something to Flickr so that will definitely be better.

I also cleaned out the store a little and added some new paintings and prints I just did.

Screen Print-A-Thon

So some friends and I had a 24 hour Screen Print-A-Thon last weekend and it was pretty awesome. It was fun just hanging out and printing stuff. I got to try out a bunch of stuff I don't normally do, like using a pencil, ink, and tracing paper to make a positive for a screen. I also got to see the awesomeness of a pressure washer. It sure makes washing screens so much easier.

So this is going to be a busy year, and I promise to be more attentive with this site. I'm hoping the redesign of my site will allow me to update the gallery on this site at the same time I update my flickr.

I put a new piece up on flickr and I'll put another one up tomorrow. Anyways, don't really know what to say. I just wanted to make a new post for the new year.

I'm sure it's seemed like I've been dead for a while now because I haven't updated the site AT ALL lately. Well, here's an update. I've been working my ass off on a couple different things so it's been hard for me to think of updating my site. Yea, that's not a good thing so I'm trying to get better.

I'm wanting to redesign my site using my newly acquired web design skills. I've got a bunch of ideas that will make me updating this site a whole bunch easier. I'm also wanting to design a site all about screen printing because I've been doing a lot lately and there's not really a good resource out there that collects all types of information about screen printing.

After the New Year my schedule should free up a bit, but not much. I've started on initial stuff with my cartoon, which will start off on the web. I think this way there will be more cool stuff, sooner. I'm hoping.

Anyways, here's a piece I just did for a Stan Lee tribute show at Gallery 1988.

Sketchbook

So I totally forgot to let everyone know about a couple things I did not so long ago.

I've been so busy I just didn't even think of it. I'm so excited about a lot of the stuff I've been working on lately. I can't wait to show everyone.

Also, in other news, some jerk stole my car. And just as I was about to pay it off. Now I will probably have to get a new car and I'm sure the insurance company will screw me. I love paying for things only to have them stolen by some jerk who thinks the world owes him something.

Plus, after talking to the police officer who came out I feel like I'm just taking care of my car for the thieves. Because obviously they can steal it anytime they want and the officer said that, "I will get my car back when and if the thieves decide they don't want it anymore." That's great. It's so nice of the thieves to "let" me have my car to drive to work. I think our law enforcement/legal system is a little upside down. The police didn't even come out a year ago when my car was broken into and the CD player was stolen. I decided not to buy another one for the thieves to have.

This whole situation just doesn't sit right with me. It seems like the people who try to be good citizens and follow the law are the ones who end up getting screwed.

Cartoons?

Wow, I've been so busy that I've just glossed over a bunch of stuff. About a month ago I was out in LA for a week working on and pitching a cartoon about my Bushido Bots. It was super fun, and I got to meet a bunch of great people. Long story short, I thought Cartoon Network was going to bite but they ended up passing on it. BUT, another company really like it and we should be starting to turn it into a web cartoon within the next year or so.

The great thing about this way is that I am going to be able to hopefully make it the way I want it. It should be a more creator driven show. I'm also hoping to turn this into a brand creating opportunity. I think it would be awesome to funnel comics, cartoon shorts, shirts, toys, and whatever else through this. I'd like to keep it cool though....no Mattel or anything for the toys. I'd like to make them awesome vinyl toys. And I'd like to keep the comics very "indyish". Like screen printed covers and nice papers.

Anyways, it should be cool and I'm really excited. I've got a ton of work coming up in the next few months so please forgive me if I'm not great about updating the site. I will post things as I can because I will definitely have new work to post.

Yipes....it's been so long since I posted anything. I've been so busy. Got some awesome projects that have been taking up most of my time, but don't worry I'll post some new work soon.

Also, most of my shirt designs are sold out, which is cool. Lots of people waiting on a reprint of "Communication", which will happen soon but when it does it will be a slightly updated design.

Garage Sale

Hey everybody! On Monday I will be starting a "garage sale" of paintings and shirts that I've got laying around my studio. These are going to be awesome deals, so if you've got a few extra bucks come check it out. For example, shirts will be $15 instead of $20 and my stencil prints will be $15 down from $25. The sale won't last forever, so when it's gone you'll just have to wait until next time.

I guess I should also tell you that the people on my mailing list have had access to this special sale since earlier this week, and have picked through some of it. There's still tons of great stuff, but this is one good reason to be on the list.
