If you haven't yet noticed - the Bloogle AdSense Blog hasn't been updated in awhile, that is because I have started focusing my attention on 2 other blogs.

I plan on leaving this blog up and running, but I won't be adding anything more to it. However, if you like the information here you will probably find one of other blogs very useful.

What Do You Blog About

This week I have been in Las Vegas Nevada with my family. While I was there, I made the decision to try and improve this blog.

I know that I haven't been posting to the Bloogle AdSense Blog as often as I used to, but don't worry I'm not abandoning it. I have just started another blog that is kind of on the same topic as this one, it's called i-Blogger, which is about building a more successful blog. Lately I have been focusing more on getting that blog up and going, unfortunately this blog has been neglected because of it.

For those readers that have been following me for awhile, know that I have a handful of websites and a couple of blogs that I have created. My other main blog is the HCG Diet 411 Blog. This blog has information about the HCG 500 Calorie Diet with Hormone Injections.

Managing just one blog or website can be a challenge, I currently have 3 blogs and 7 websites. I know that some people have even more than that, but with a couple of kids at home with me makes it that much harder.

So I am going to attempt to write blog posts for the Bloogle AdSense Blog more frequently.

Do You Make Money From Your Blog

Getting Your Readers To Respond

Getting your readers to respond to what you are writing is something every good blogger tries hard to do.

Just like when you read a good book or an interesting article, whether it's a positive or a negative one, it will usually get a response out of you. The same thing is true with reading a good blog post. When I read a good blog post, it creates some sort of response from me.

Here are a few things to help you get a response from your readers.

Getting Your Readers To Respond

Write about controversial topics
Do more posts about things that you believe strongly about
Use personal experiences
Write like you are having a conversation with a friend
Use words to describe how you feel about certain things

Using these tips should help you get more of a response from your readers. In the long run it will help you to gain loyal followers of your blog.

With your blog you can reach people all around the world, and that opens the door for endless topics to blog about.

Launching A New Blog

Today, I am excited to announce the launch of my new blog, "i Blogger" www.i-blogger.info

I have just finished building i Blogger and I have very high hopes that it's going to do well. i Blogger has information and tips about how to build a successful blog. It doesn't matter if you have a blog already, or if you are thinking about starting a new one, i Blogger can help you make your blog to be more successful.

This is actaully the second blog that I have launched in the past 6 months. The other blog, that I launched back in October, "HCG Diet 411", is already receiving tons of traffic everyday. These days it seems like everyone I know has a blog. There is a blog for pretty much any topic that you can think of.

But why has blogging become so popular? Below I have created a list of 10 reasons that a person might want to start a blog.

10 Reasons To Start A Blog:

To Make Money- The most popular reason for starting a blog, is to make money. Now-a-days everyone wants to make a buck online and blogging can be a good way to do that, if you do it right!
To Promote New Products- A blog can be a great way to get the word out on a new product or service.
Keeping In Touch With Family- Some people like to use their blog to stay in touch with family and friends. They can be great for sharing photos and videos too.
Relieving Stress- There are a lot of blogs out there that are just full of people complaining about things that irritate them.
To Help Others- Some people start a blog just because they want to try and help other people in need.
To Educate- If you have a great deal of knowledge on a certain subject, you might start a blog to educate others about your area of expertise.
Forming A Group- A blog is a great way to find other like minded people who have the same beliefs as you do.
Adding On To A Website- Every successful website has a blog page to keep their customers updated on their latest project.
Hate- Hate blogs are a popular way to tell everyone how much you hate someone or something. There are actually a lot of blogs in the blogosphere, that are dedicated to trashing famous people.
Just To Blog- These days people start a blog just to blog. I see a lot of blogs that don't have a certain topic behind it, these people usually just want to blog about anything that is on their mind.

As you can see, people are staring blogs for a number of different reasons, and sometimes for no reason at all.

Blogging And Relationships

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about my personal relationships and blogging.

When I first started getting into Internet Marketing and Blogging, I knew that it was something that I wanted to do from that moment on. Basicly, I was hooked.

I initially started out building my own websites to offer affiliate products. Then about 6 months later, as a way to promote my websites, I started my first blog. From that point on, I blogged almost every single day.

Unfortunately, this caused my personal relationships to suffer. I would be building my websites, blogging, and trying to drive traffic to my sites all day long. I actually believed those money making programs out there that said "Become A Millionaire While You Sleep". I'm sure that you know the ones I am talking about. Chances are if you haven't purchased one of these programs yourself, you know someone who has.

Needless to say, the program didn't work, I am not a millionaire. (Not Yet Anyway) Even though I should be, I did everything they said to do, except for, spend thousands of dollars upgrading to a "pro-membership" status with the program. What a joke!

However, the money that I did earn was actually from the blog that I had started just to drive traffic to my affiliate websites. So I gave up on those affiliate sites to become more of a full-time blogger.

I love to blog, but I learned real quick that blogging alone can take up most of your time. It wasn't until after my laptop was damaged, that I realized just how much time that I did spend on my blogs.

I know now, that it is important to find a good in-between. You have to take time out of your day to be with the people that you love. What I decided to do is set myself a schedule. I promised my wife that I would only be on the computer for a certain amount of time everyday. For the most part I stick to that schedule. This makes everyone much more happy, especially my two boys, Tyson who is 9 and Aiden he is 4, he is also a real "Daddy's Boy".

So make sure you are putting the computer to the side long enough to spend time with the important people in your life.

Blogging Tip Of The Day

Most of the posts that I write are about things that you Should Do to build a better blog.

Today I wanted to change gears a little bit and talk about something that you Should NOT do when building your blog.

When trying to establish your blog as a reliable source for information, it is important to have your blog come accross that way to readers.

A great way to establish your blog, is to build your blog's PR. (Page Rank) By doing this, it will show other people that your blog is important. At least that's what the search engines like Google say. Of course we all know that if your blog receives a high PR, that means your blog has got a lot of back-links pointing to it. After all, if your blog has hundreds of links poining back to it, you must have some good information available, right!

Because we all know the thing that makes a blog receive a high Page Rank is back-links, some bloggers are tempted to use "Link Farms" to try and get them. This is what you Should Not do!

However, Google will actually penalize blogs that get too many back-links, in a short period of time. For example: if you start a brand new blog at the beginning of the month, and then by the end of the month you have hundreds of back-links to your new blog, the search engines are going to know whats going on. Plus once you are associated with using link-farms, that will always stick with you. Not a good reputation to have if you want to build a career out of blogging.

Just to be on the safe side, you should try to get back-links to your blog the same way the rest of us do, by leaving comments, exchanging links with other bloggers, and the natural way, which is people linking to you because you have good content. How To Get Ideas For Your Blog Posts

If you have been blogging for a while then you know that sometimes it can be hard to come up ideas for blog posts.

I have a couple of tips that will help you to keep your blog ideas flowing.

After about 6 months of blogging I had run into a wall, I was finding it hard to come up with ideas for new blog posts.

Some days I would have a million topics running through my head, and then when I would sit down at my laptop I would draw a blank.

Here are 3 idea generating tips that I still use to this day to creat new posts;

Carry a small note-pad and pen. This way when you have those great post ideas pumping through your brain, you can write them down for later.
See what others are blogging about. Visiting other blogs in your niche is a great way to keep up with your competition and get some good blog post ideas. (Don't ever copy another persons post)
Look at your old posts. Go through the posts you have written in the past, and do a part 2, or a part 3 to a previously written post. (Or do a whole series of posts on a certain topic)

These 3 things have helped me to keep creating fresh new content for my blogs, and I am sure they will help you too. Leave a comment and tell me your thoughts.

Using Google Analytics To Get More Traffic

No matter what your blog's topic is, Google Analytics can help you to get more traffic.

Every single day of the week, I like to check my Google Analytics stats for the previous day. Google Analytics is my favorite blogging tool.

You can use Google Analytics to get all kinds of different information about your blog. You can use it to see;

How many visits your blog received on a certain day.
Which visits were unique visitors. (First time visitors)
The search engine your visitors found you in.
What keywords are being used to find your blog.
See what blog posts get the most traffic.

I like to use this information to help me to get more traffic to my blog. The way I do this is, I look at the different keywords and keyword phrases that my blog shows up for in the search engines.

Then I take one of those keyword phrases that I am not getting a lot of visits for, mabey one or two visits a week, then I write a couple of posts using those certain keywords.

The reason I focus on the keywords that I don't get a ton of visits for, is because that shows me that my blog pops up for these keyword phrases at least sometimes. If I write more blog posts using those certain keywords, I will start showing up in the search results a lot more for those keywords. Which of course will get me more traffic to my blog.

A Pro-Blogger State Of Mind

Becoming a Pro-Blogger is so much more than just having a blog that you post to everyday.

In order to reach the level of Pro-Blogger, you must first have a Pro-Blogger state of mind. Most people don't just wake up one day and say I want to blog for a living.

Usually, like in my case, you will start a blog for one reason or another and you will just love doing it. I actually started out blogging as a way to promote my websites.

I had created a handful of websites when I first started online. My plan was to use those websites to market affiliate products. Along the way I learned that blogging is a great way to promote websites. From there, I found that I just really enjoyed blogging.

It's kind of exciting to see a blog that you have built, become more active with visitors and start to rank high for popular keywords in the search engines. I am still glad to get new followers.

You have to believe in yourself and be able to take advice. I am consantly learning new things about blogging. Building a good blog and becoming a Pro-Blogger will take some time, but if you love doing it that part won't matter.

Now I am not saying that I'm a Pro-Blogger, I still have a ways to go before I can claim that title. However, I can definitely say that I have a Pro-Blogger state of mind.

Writting A Descriptive Blog Post

Writting descriptive blog posts is one of the best things that you can do for your readers.

I can't count how many times I have been looking for information on a topic, and the only thing I end up finding, is a vague, un-descriptive blog post on the subject. It is very frustrating to say the least!

That is why it is so important to be descriptive. Write your blog posts like you are trying to explain something to a child. Give details and examples.

I like to try and write like I am the only person with a blog on the topic. (Far from it) If you want people to look at you like an expert on the subject, then you have to write like it.

At the same time you don't want to put your readers to sleep. Try not to sound to much like a dictionary. Just try and write like you are passionate about what you are blogging.

Today's blogging tip is about Not Giving All Of Your Tips Away In One Post...

When you post an article or tip to your blog, it is important that you give your readers good quality information. ut at the same time you don't want to give away everything that you know about the subject all in one post.

I used to have this problem myself. When I first started getting serious about blogging, my posts were very long, with huge paragraphs.

There are a few reasons why you do not want to do this.

1. If you write long articles, people might feel a little overwhelmed when they try to read it.
2. Giving too much information away in each post, will not leave you anything to write a couple of weeks down the road.
3. If your paragraphs are too big, it makes it harder for our eyes to follow and keep our place.

Here are a couple of things you want to do when posting to your blog.

1. You want to write good content but keep your article focused on one tip.
2. If you have a lot of information on a certain subject, break it up into a few different posts. (example: part-1, part-2, part-3)
3. Use small paragraphs. Keep your paragraphs to about 2 or 3 sentences.

Using these tips should help to make your blog posts more reader friendly.

Build Back-Links With Comments

I know that in the past we have talked a little bit about building your blogs Page Rank by creating back-links to your blog.

Visiting other blogs that you like and commenting on their posts, are one of the easiest ways to build a ton of back-links.But there are a actually couple of good reasons you would want to leave a comment on another blog.

Not only does it create a back-link to your blog, which will help to increase your blogs Page Rank, but it can also help to drive targeted traffic to your blog if it's done the right way.

The best way to drive targeted traffic to your blog with your comments, is by visiting and commenting on other popular blogs that are on the same topic as your blog. The trick is to try and be one of the first people to comment on a post right after it is posted.

A good way to make sure you are one of the first is to sign up for their RSS feed for their blog posts and some blogs have the option to sign up to the comments through RSS too.

This way if the blog you are commenting on gets a lot of visitors, some of thos visitors will read your comment and if they like what you have to say they might click on your link and visit your blog.

This is how you get the targeted traffic that you want. Because, if the blog that they see your comment on is on the topic as yours, then it is likely that they are going to be interested in your blog as well.

Adding Google AdSense To Your Blog Post

Take Blogging Seriously

To build a successfull blog that helps you to make money online, you have to take blogging seriously.

You have to treat blogging like you would any other company out there.

When a person starts a business or buys into a franchise, they usually take it pretty seriously, because they have invested a lot money into getting it started.

But because most people start a blog for little or no money at all, they don't think of it like a business, although they should.

Try to treat your blog like you've invested a lot of money into it. After all blogging does take time, and time is money.

If you really do want to have a successful blog, you need to dedicate yourself to building it. In the beginning you will have to work hard at it, and you won't be getting a paycheck at the end of every week like you would with some 9-5 job.

When you are building your list and gaining followers you will make little to no money at all. But this is just temporary, if you really apply yourself and learn everything that you can about becoming a pro-blogger, the money will come. You just have to be patient.

Then after you have established yourself and your blog, you won't have to try as hard to make money, you just have to be smart about how you do it.

Remember, if your blog doesn't take off right away, and it probably won't, don't give up. You have to keep at it.

Make sure that your using good SEO, (Search Engine Optimization) and listen to the pro-bloggers out there. Don't be afraid to take advice. I have been at this a little while now and I continue to learn something new almost daily.

What To Do With Your Email List

The best part about having an email list, is that you are the one who is in control.

You can send out product offers to your list, or even just tell them about a great new article that you wrote to try and get some more traffic to your blog.

It's not the same as your blog where you have to wait for people to visit and then just hope that they see and like what you are offering.

When you have a list, you already know that the people on it are people who are interested in what you have say. Otherwise they wouldn't have given you their email address in the first place.

This is where affiliate marketing works great. If you find a good product, you can give your list an oppurtunity to purchase it. You want to make them feel like they are getting special inside information, or a chance to buy it at a better price than everyone else.

However, you don't want to ever spam your list, they have to be able to trust you. Show them that you aren't just trying to sell them something.

You want to give them good up to date information for free. Then after you have earned their trust, you can offer them a product here and there. Try to email them only 2 or 3 times a month, unless they signed up for a weekly news letter.

Make sure that you are smart about how you manage your list. Once you send out a product offer, take the people from your list that purchase the product, and make a special list for those people.

An email list is a great way to generate a lot of money. I am sure you have heard the term "Targeted Traffic", well it doesn't get more targeted than a list of people that you know are interested in your blog's topic.

How To Build Your Email List

Yesterday's "Build A Blog Workshop" was about signing up for an AWeber account.

Today I am going to give you a good tip on building your email list.

For your blog visitors to give up their email address to you, they are going to need a good reason. I recommend giving them something for free.

You could offer them something like a weekly newsletter from your blog, a free product download, or some sort of information that isn't available everywhere.

If nothing that I have mentioned gives you an idea of what you can offer, Google free downloads with Private Label Rights. Try to be creative.

Then when you find something to offer your visitors, set it up so that you can give it to them if they just enter their email address. If you set up an AWeber account like we discussed yesterday in the Building An Email List post, they have information on how to do it correctly.

Just try to make sure that it is something people are going to want.

Building An Email List

Building an email list is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your blog. With an email list you can send out information, links to your other sites, and even product offers.

There are a lot of free ways to build an email list, but I would recommend using AWeber Communications. They are one of the most used email auto responder services out there.

To get started go to AWeber.com and set up your account. While you are there check out some of the different features that comes with an AWeber account.

Having an email list is great for so many different reasons. Plus it is so easy to do. But first things first. Go set up an account and then come back for tomorrow's post.

Adding A Bookmark Button To Your Blog

When a person likes a website or blog, they will usually come back or even tell other people what they liked about it.

This is a good thing for people building a blog because visitors are an important part of making money with Google AdSense and affiliate marketing. Without visitors there would be nobody to click your AdSense ads.

So I like to make it easy for people to return to my blogs. I put bookmarking buttons at the bottom of each one of my posts, by placing code in my blog's template.

Not everybody likes to mess with the HTML on their blog. An easier way to add a bookmark button to your blog is...

Go to www.addthis.com
Select your service
Select a button style
Decide if you want analytics for your button
Then "Click" Get Your Button

If you are using Blogger.com, just click "Add To Sidebar". I would recommend placing it close to the top of your blog, under the heading "Bookmark This Blog", or something along those lines.

Increasing Your Page Rank

There is really only one way to increase your blog's Page Rank, and that is by getting backlinks to your blog. Luckily there is more than just one way to do that.

This is a topic we have discussed before in "Building Backlinks To Your Blog" which was the 14th post in this month's "Build A Blog Workshop".

Even though this isn't the most important part of building a successful blog, it is definitely something that you should work on. By having a high Page Rank you can earn more money from advertisers.

The easiest way to build your Page Rank would be the natural way. Which means people visit your blog and like what they read enough to link back to your blog from their site. The only way you can have an impact on this is by writing good quality content. Hopefully you are already doing this.

Another way is by asking people to exchange links with you. Look around and find other websites and blogs that are on the same topic as your blog. When you find some that are worth linking to, offer to exchange links with them. (You post their link on your blog, and they put your link on theirs)

Or you could try placing a code with your link in it, on your blog that asks people to link to you by posting the code on their site. You might not get a ton of back-links this way, but every link counts.

Getting Traffic To Your Blog

At this point of the "Build A Blog Worshop" you should be posting almost everyday, using an afilliate program, and posting tweets to your twitter account.

Even though you might not be getting a ton of traffic right now, doing these things will help you to have a successful blog. But there are other things you can do to help you get your blog noticed.

One thing you might want to try is writing articles. If you write an article with your blog's link in the signature, then submit it the to the article directories, you could see a lot of traffic to your blog.

The best way to get the right kind of visitors to your blog, is to write an article that is on the same topic as your blog. This way the people who are reading your articles, are more likely going to be interested in getting more information on the subject.

Plus if the people reading your article really like what they see, they could very well become loyal followers of your blog.

There are over one-hundred article directories out there for you to submit articles to. If you submit articles with your blog's link in it to even half of those directories, you are likely to get a lot of back-links too. Which of course is important for building your blogs "Page Rank".

Having Your Own Domain Name

Their are a lot of good reasons why you would want to buy your own domain name. Some say you are more likely to show up on the first page of the Google Search Engine. However I have seen a lot of blogs with a Blogspot sub-domain name on the first page results, for some pretty popular key words too.

Another good thing about having your own domain name is that you will have a much shorter web address, which is good because then people are more likely to remember it.

Having your own domain name looks more professional than a sub-domain.

On the other hand a sub-domain name is totally free. Another bonus is, you don't have to worry about all of your personal information being registered out there for telemarketers and junk-mail.

When you purchase a domain name all of your information, like your name, address, and phone number, is published in a directory for anyone to see. However, you can usually purchase a privacy gaurd to protect yourself from prying eyes.

One other benefit of a sub-domain name is you can still pick out a good web address. With the .com domain names, a lot of the good ones have already been taken.

When it comes down to it the choice is yours. I am still using a sub-domain name for this blog, the Bloogle AdSense Blog. It's still less than a year old, but I get pretty good results in the search engines.

Either way you still have to worry about the same things like SEO, posting often, and monetizing your blog. If your blog is only a few weeks old and is showing a lot of promise, you might want to buy yourself a domain name now rather than later on down the road after you have established your blog and are getting good results in the search engines.

A good example of this is my other blog, HCG Diet 411, which I started about 6 weeks ago and had it listed in Google within a week. My HCG Diet 411 Blog did so well the first few weeks that I decided to buy my own domain name now before it started to do any better.

I wanted to build up my new blog under it's own domain name because I already saw how good it was going to do. This isn't typical with every blog though, but if it does do good right out of the gates, then why waste time building back-links and put all of that time into promoting it, just to have to start all over when you do buy your own domain name.

If you do make the choice to wait and then get your own domain name later, the loyal readers that you have will follow you.

Blogger makes it real easy to switch to your own domain name when you are ready. Plus you can still host your blog here for free either way. If you have your sub-domain listed in Google, your new domain will get listed much faster.

The reason this happens is the Google Bot will come back to crawl your blog for new content and it then spots thead new domain name

How To Create Attention Grabbing Titles

Being able to grab attention with the titles of your blog posts is not a hard thing to do. You just have to know how to do it, and how to do it right.

In yesterday's "Build A Blog Workshop" we discussed how to find the right "Keywords For Your Blog". Today I will give you some tips on creating Attention Grabing Tiltles.

When a person does a search using Google or any other search engine, the results that show up are usually blogs or websites that contain the keyword or phrase that you are searching for. When a blog shows up as one of the results, you will usually see the blog post title in the header of the result.

If you can create titles that draw people's attention to it, you will find yourself getting a lot more visitors to your blog.

Here are a few things that you should focus on when choosing your post titles:

Use targeted high traffic keywords.
Keep it short and simple.
Try putting the keywords at the beginning of the title.
Re-use the keywords from the title in the actual post.
Be creative and try to make it original.

75% or more of your blog's traffic will be coming from search engines like Google. So it is important that you draw peoples attention to your blog in the search results. The best way to do this is by using the tips above.

Keywords For Your Blog

Having the right keywords for your blog is essential to building a good blog. When you use the right keywords for your blog, you have the potential to get a lot more traffic from the search engines.

Keywords are the words that people will use to find your blog in search engines like Google. So it's important that you get found for the right ones. If you are using a lot of keywords on your blog that people never search for, your blog won't get much traffic to it.

To make sure you are using the best keywords for your blog topic, you want to go and use a keyword tool to find them. I prefer to use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool, it's free and it tells you how many searches are done for a certain keyword every month.

All you need to do is, go to adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type in your blog's topic. The Google Adwords Keyword Tool will then suggest keywords for you to use.

Then, after you find the keywords and phrases that get a good amount of searches each month, you want to include those keywords in your blog posts.

Make sure that you don't over do it. If you use a keyword so many times in your post that it doesn't sound natural, re-write it, because the search engines will know. It's called "keyword stuffing" and Google can spot this from a mile away.

As I have said before, you want to write like you would talk. Read your post as you write it and if it doesn't sound right, just fix it. Also, make sure that you spell the keywords correctly too. If the keywords aren't spelled right, your blog won't show up in the search engines for that certain keyword.
