Here's an iPhone 3GS ad I made using Apple's guided tour and some music by Bishop Allen. Enjoy!

The video is pretty exciting and shows what can be done with Project Natal. In the first demo, it shows a kid becoming the ninja warrior in a game, where the on-screen character moves as he moves. The same happens when it shows a girl playing soccer, or the boy becoming a cute blue monster. The video goes on to show a kid bringing his skateboard to the screen, and the camera recognizing the design and bringing it into the game. I think this is slightly misleading, because I doubt it will actually work like that. I'm thinking of it more as a RFID reader, where it will only work with predetermined items.

Project Natal also features face and voice recognition. Look at the camera, and the Xbox will log you in. Voice recognition is shown off in a trivia game, where the game asks someone a question, and the system recognizes what the boy says. 

But I see several problems with Project Natal. First, I see this only being useful for games that don't require someone to move in several directions. Although it recognizes body movement, how will you be able to move around in a game like Halo? Another problem is for people that don't have much room to move around in. Remember Wii-related injuries? Try out Natal-foot-through-TV injuries. Ouch? Then there's the problem with fat people. Before, a fatty could just kick back on the couch and enjoy zoning out on the TV. I'm not sure if that fatty will enjoy getting up and running around a lot. 

Project Natal looks very cool and could become revolutionary, but only if it works well. If it works as well as you see it in the video Microsoft has produced, this thing will blow all the other consoles out of the water.

The MP3 Experiment, hosted and created by Improv Everywhere, is a wonderful event in which hundreds of people gather in one place wearing solid colored t-shirts, and plug in their headphones to listen to a predetermined song and perform funny instructions. Do you remember last years? Brian came with me this time and we had a blast.

After what was thought to be an April Fool's joke, Jarate has made a comeback and arrived in the TF2 arsenal!  It's special urinal properties allow enemies to take 35% more damage when hit by it, and can even extinguish your teammates if they are on fire.  But that choice is tough.  Would you rather risk dying while running to the resupply room, or would you rather stay alive, doused in the Sniper's pee?  Well... I'd rather stay alive.  Think of it like water.  As they introduced Jarate to us as a new weapon, they also introduced the new achievements for the sniper.  Even without the descriptions, they seem hard.  For example, snipe 3 sentries (in 1 life?), don't waste a single bullet (in a round?  in a life?), and 1000 kills (with sniper rifle?  Huntsman?).  Also, be sure to check out the comic featuring Jarate and a certain way of enlarging kidneys to three times their normal size!

 

"It has the ammo count of a revolver and the pinpoint accuracy of a sniper rifle, even at long range."  Wow.

 

Notified via the Team Fortress forums, you can catch a small screenshot of the upcoming "Meet the Spy" video on YouTube. When you try and watch it, it says the video has been removed by the user (Valve's official Youtube channel).
