BCEA meetings are usually held at 4.15 on the third Thursday to conduct the business of the association and share information . Meetings are open to all members. Please email president.bcea@gmail.com to let me know you’re planning to attend so we have an idea of numbers.

BCEA is your professional organization. We advocate for improved teaching and learning conditions through collaborative conferencing, meeting with our administration and school board, and working together with members. Collaborative conferencing over the past year has secured a 5% raise on the base, and your MOU outlines working conditions like individual planning time, lextra duties, and bereavement leave.

We’re part of the Tennessee Education Association, so you have access to high quality TEA staff, professional development, and representation as a member.

At all meetings, we share concerns from teachers in your building, discuss local and state decisions involving education, and learn about member benefits from TEA such as professional development.

April 20 – TEA RA delegate briefing. Early Enrollment. Political Academy/Summer Leadership Academy interest.
May 18 – Installation of New Officers. Plan Fall events

Association meetings for the 22-23 school year are on the 3rd Thursday at 4:15 at Southland Books in the cafe. The March meeting will be on the 23rd due to Spring Break. Meetings will also be available via Zoom-contact president.bcea@gmail.com for the link.

Early Voting for the August 4th election is happening NOW through July 30th.

Elected Officials determine much of teachers’ working conditions, so please exercise your right to vote. Early voting locations, sample ballots, and a link to look up your district are on the Go Vote Tennessee website. Three of our seven school board members will be chosen this election.
