The date for the Blue Mountain Half Marathon is set.

Mark Sunday October 16th 2011 for your Fall Half Marathon race!!

Enjoy the views of Georgian Bay, Collingwood and the slopes of Blue Mountain with the start and finish at the beautiful village of Blue Mountain. . This year it will be the same great course, and will include a half marathon distance as well as a 5km race distance. Online registration will be open next week, with early bird entry fee deadline available until June 1st. Don’t miss out in one of Ontario’s most scenic half marathon event!

Our numbers are up from last year, we have a 5 km race in the mix, race shirts and medals look awesome, and the weather looks like it will be a perfect running day.

A few details leading up to the race:

1. Race kit pick up happens at the Blue Mountain Village in the gazebo by Sunset Grill. Anytime between 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm If you are not able to pick up your race kit at this time, please contact us at Ruth@BlueMountainMarathon.com so we can make alternate arrangements for you.

3. Medals and Awards ceremony will follow as soon as the last runner is in, or at 11:00am (whichever comes first)

And this year we are planning to have it a little bigger and better. Last year’s event was a hit! Beautiful weather, a beautiful course and a great turn out made this great event an astounding success

 Some of the changes for this year include:

  • Chip timing to have more accurate timing of all our runners
  • A new 5 km course to make the race available to more runners
  • Improved start and finish line
  • Photographers on the course

Last year (our first year) we had just under 100 runners. This year we are going to blow that number away.
To kept things manageable, we have a self-imposed 250 runner limit.   The way things are going, it looks like we will get there.
