The Stadium Jacket is 3sixteen's take on the classic baseball jacket, made from an 8oz cotton canvas that has been waxed for extra protection in wet weather. The jacket is finished with contrasting black ribbing throughout, as well as quilted lining for extra warmth during the cold months. Naked & Famous "Made in Japan 2" Now Available!

The second installment in the Naked & Famous "Made in Japan" series is here! Made from a beefy 17oz selvedge denim fabric, this version has undergone the same rare Tenpi wash treatment to preshrink the fabric and preserve its natural state. Tenpi is a secretive practice that involves cold dipping the unsanforized fabric and letting it dry in the sun. This keeps the starch in tact, creates a unique wrinkled texture, and takes the shrinkage out of the fabric. To preserve the natural beauty of the fabric used for the the "Made in Japan 2", mechanical finishing processes such as sanforizing, singing, and anti-skewing have been forgone in favor of a special Tenpi wash treatment, which preshrinks the fabric, and preserves the natural rigidness and texture of the jeans.

Product Spotlight: wings + horns x byBorre Bomber Jacket

Known for their use of innovative fabric, wings + horns has been one of the pioneers of contemporary menswear since their inception in 2004. Season after season, the Vancouver brand routinely impresses with their willingness to use new and inventive fabrics on modern pieces. The brand's fall/winter 2015 collection was perhaps their most ambitious to date, thanks in part to their attention grabbing space influenced fabric, brought to life via a collaborative effort by wings + horns' Lead Designer, Tung Vo, and founder of Amsterdam fabric design studio byBorre, Borre Akkersdijk. Together, the two created a unique interpretation of byBorre's signature BB.Suit 0.2 design, a bodysuit that cleans the air around the wearer via patented Cold Plasma technology. It's futuristic, three-dimensional fabric designs like this that has garnered Borre Akkersdijk and his Dutch studio such critical acclaim and recognition. While the fabric was made primarily for the full bodysuit (which was on display during the wings + horns fall/winter 2015 show), the fabric was then transferred over to the sleek bomber design seen here.

Made from a cotton/polyester blend, the wings + horns x byBorre Bomber Jacket uses the same shell as the custom BB.Suit 0.2. The black fabric features a mixture of perforated, quilted, and lined textures, alongside a repeating pattern of dots and lines which serve as an homage to morse code message of years past. The jacket shell is then paired with polyester sleeves, which feature an articulated texture reminiscent of the irregular vastness of the galaxy. The jacket is then finished with pebbled snap button closure, ribbed collar and cuffs, stretch nylon lining and sleeves, and Polartec Alpha insulation in the body and sleeves for extra warmth.

This unique interpretation on the classic bomber jacket style is surprisingly easy to wear, thanks to the versatile black color and modern fit. The "Shadow Selvedge" from 3sixteen is the brand's signature 14.5oz fabric in their staple indigo/black dye. These jeans are widely beloved for their unique, high-contrast, electric blue fading color that develops with wear, as well as the super soft brushed weft that is found on any of 3sixteen's core items.

The 3sixteen CT-120x is a classic tapered fit which has a slim form-fitting silhouette, but significantly more room in the top block and thighs than 3sixteen's slim tapered fits. The CT-100 has a medium/low rise, and has a strong taper from the thigh to the leg opening.

Momotaro x Blue Owl "BOM00X" Launching 10/10 at 10AM PST!

We are proud to announce the tenth installment in the Momotaro x Blue Owl collaboration series, the BOM00X! This limited edition denim marks the first black denim produced by Momotaro to date, and coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Momotaro brand. The denim comes in both the new Tight Tapered and Natural Tapered fits, and will be available Saturday, October 10th, at 10AM PST.

The BOM00X uses the famed Vintage Label series fabric, which is a hairy, vintage, sanforized 15.7oz fabric rich with texture. This fabric is widely regarded as one of the best aging fabrics in the world, and is beloved for its softness and durability, thanks to the 100% Zimbabwe cotton used for both warp and weft. The denim features the signature "Going to Battle" stripes in a tonal black color, which will become more apparent with wear.

This item is limited to 30 jackets, and cannot be produced again. For those of you unfamiliar with Naked & Famous' duck canvas fabric, the fabric is smooth and substantially easier to break in than most heavy-duty canvas jackets, all while maintaining the durability of a workable canvas jacket. The third and final shipment from N. Hoolywood brings us the brand's incredible take on the classic Chesterfield Coat design. This piece is made from a super-fine wool that is incredibly soft and wearable from day one. The garment is detailed with a unique two-tone color design, raw edges and cuffs, and a single button closure, creating a unique and contemporary take on this traditional style. This take on the classic Chesterfield Coat uses a super-soft wool fabric that has been brushed on the interior, giving it an extremely comfortable feel from day one. The exterior of the fabric (seen here) is filled with hairy texture from the wool.

The jacket features a classic notch lapel design, and a two-tone color scheme that pairs a super versatile charcoal grey exterior color, with a sleek midnight blue color on the interior. This blue color can be found on the inverse side of the collar as well, providing a great pop of contrast in the event the collar is worn up.

The jacket features a formal single-button closure at the center of the coat. The garment also comes with extra buttons and fabric for repairs.

The jacket is detailed with raw edges throughout the garment, including the sleeves and down the center (seen here) of the coat. The rugged detailing on the traditional-style coat creates for an extremely unique and modern piece.

Just in are the newest fall releases from Vancouver's Reigning Champ. This shipment brings us a brand new Mesh Fleece fabric, as well as the return of the famed Tiger Fleece fabric. The Mesh Fleece from Reigning Champ is offered in two styles, Crewneck and Zip Hoodie, and two colors, Asphalt and Black, and is a soft, lightweight fabric built from an extremely breathable mesh cotton. The garments are designed with a slightly elongated body, and a scalloped hem (in the case of the crewneck), for a more modern aesthetic. The Tiger Fleece, originally introduced by wings + horns and now part of the Reigning Champ collection exclusively, uses a slub knit fleece fabric that is roughly the same weight as Reigning Champ's mediumweight core pieces, but with substantially more texture. Nestled inside a humble building in Tokyo’s bustling shopping district of Shibuya lies the store Mister Hollywood, an ode to classic, vintage themes built around modern design. From the outside, the store resembles that of an old roadside motel just off the strip of Sunset Blvd., dressed in sun-aged paint and flickering string lights, fitting for a storefront with the given name. Inside, the stark contrast of white decor and black finish against exotic wood sets the stage for a surprisingly clean aesthetic and layout of clothes. This carefully crafted store design serves as the perfect visual metaphor for designer Daisuke Obana’s retro-inspired, modern-aesthetic, N. Hoolywood label.

Starting as a buyer of vintage clothes for a local boutique, and eventually the owner of vintage shop “Go-Getters,” Obana has been obsessed with vintage fashion since the mid 90s. This love eventually culminated in a trip to Los Angeles, for the sole purpose of buying vintage clothing. It is here that Daisuke Obana earned the nickname he proudly displays on his storefront, “Mister Hollywood.” In 2000, Obana took his passion one step further and created the N. Hoolywood collection. Derived from the words “Hollywood” and “hooligan,” Daisuke’s vision was to create a brand using the vintage themes he loves so much (Hollywood), built around a modern silhouette to better suit today’s fashion world (hooligan). Almost immediately the brand began to receive critical acclaim for their unique take on timeless pieces, and their willingness to use rare and unique fabrics typically suited for other garments. This recognition has brought Obana the opportunity to work on a number of high-profile collaborations with well over 20 companies, including Champion, Converse, and Levi’s.

Beyond just the design of the garments, Daisuke has prided himself on developing functional pieces that can last well into the future, the same way that many of the timeless, vintage designs that inspired the N. Hoolywood brand have lasted. For this reason, all N. Hollywood pieces are made with the utmost attention to detail and craftsmanship, right in the heart of downtown Tokyo. This approach is seen throughout the fall/winter 2015 collection, in the form of heavy flannels and vintage-style wool crewnecks, that are designed to be worn until they too become vintage themselves. 3 Ways to Get Ready for Football Season

We're now officially one day from kick-off to the 2015 NFL Season, and here in the Blue Owl Workshop offices, we couldn't be more excited. Whether it's playing in your flag football league, watching your favorite team at the local sports bar, or drafting your fantasy football team in hopes of avenging last season's 8th place finish (better get on that), football fever is among us, and this time on Sunday we'll be knee deep in Week 1 of the NFL season. To commemorate this occasion, we've put together three outfits that'll serve you well in whichever way you're celebrating over the next few weeks.

Playing:
Don't make the rookie mistake of wearing jeans you can't move in during your pick-up game this fall. Instead, opt for some stretch fabric for maximum mobility. We are happy to announce two new additions to the High Tapered series. The Model 0625 is a 13.5oz Sulphur Dyed Indigo/Indigo (pictured above) and is a brand new fabric for Japan Blue and only being released in the High Taper fit. The sulphur dye allows the denim to maintain it's original color for a substantially longer period of time, giving you a clean-uniform look. Japan Blue's 13.5oz Sulphur Dyed Indigo/Indigo is a beautifully vibrant blue color that will maintain it's color throughout the life of the jeans. The double sulphur dye prevents the denim from fading quickly. There will be fading, but the fading is subtle still keeps a blue. The cotton is not rope dyed, but rather cheese dyed. "Cheese Dying" is a Japanese term for the cotton dying method where the yarn is bunched together in a brick that looks like a block of cheese, then submerged in dye. The result being the dye will penetrate the yarn deeper than with rope dying and thus the fabric that will maintain the color longer and resist fading.

The High Tapered fit from Japan Blue provides more room in the top block than it's "Tapered" counterpart, with a touch higher rise, and substantially more room in the thighs, all while maintaining a strong taper from the upper thigh down to the leg opening.

A Beginners Guide to: Cuffing Your Jeans

Well, you made it. You finally found yourself that pair of jeans that'll be your entry to the world of raw denim. Congratulations, and welcome to the club. Before you can start breaking in your newest purchase, you have another important decision to make: "How do you plan on wearing these?" That's the question we ask every customer who enters our shop prior to hemming their pair of jeans, and the one you'll need to ask yourself upon buying your next pair. With the bevy of denim styles, shoe styles, and overall aesthetics seen on the streets and the internet today, it can be overwhelming trying to decide exactly how you want your jeans to look, which is why we've created this handy guide (with pictures!) to help guide you in the direction of what style is right for you.

The Single Cuff
This straight-forward method can be achieved by flipping the leg opening of your jeans outward in your desired amount. This is a great way of providing some separation between your footwear and jeans, and shows off both the weft and hemline, which can provide some color or contrast, depending on the denim. The single cuff works great in a number of different settings and styles, but works particularly well with smaller boots and shoes, and for a more business casual look. We recommend allowing an additional 1-2" of length when hemming for this look.

The Double Cuff

Perhaps the most popularized method of the 5, the double cuff takes the aforementioned single cuff, and rolls it over again, creating a stronger, thicker cuff that hides the hemline. The stronger, more rugged look of this cuff is often matched with boots and larger shoes, and can be performed on fabrics of all kinds. This is an exceptional way of showing off the weft of your jeans, particularly so if you own a fabric with a dyed or unique weft. The versatility of this look makes it the standard by which most raw denim enthusiasts wear their jeans. Because of the nature of this method, we recommend allowing an additional 2-3" when hemming in order to reach your natural inseam length upon cuffing your jeans.

Flat Inseam (Sans Cuff)

The flat inseam involves hemming jeans to your appropriate natural inseam length, as to let the leg opening of the jeans lay "flat" atop your preferred footwear. This style can be done so that the leg runs straight, all the way down to the leg opening (without creases), or can be hemmed with what is often called a "break," otherwise known as a small amount of excess fabric used to create creases near the leg opening. Breaks are often used to provide security in the event that the inseam shrinks after a wash, or once creases behind the knee develop. A good summer alternative to these options is to have the jeans hemmed 1-2" higher than normal, creating a higher hem that helps show off your socks and provide extra breeze to your ankles and legs. We recommend the flat inseam for more formal or business casual looks.

"Stacking"

Popularized in street culture and typically seen in streetwear catalogs, "stacking" refers to the bunching of excess fabric on your jeans near the lower portion of your legs. Stacking can be achieved by keeping an extra-long inseam length, relative to what your natural inseam length would be. How much is entirely up to you, but the more length you give yourself, the larger the "stacks" will be. While stacking can technically be done on any denim that is long in length, the true aesthetic of "stacking" isn't typically achieved unless the leg openings of the jeans are significantly slim. The slim leg opening helps balance out the proportions of the creases in the lower leg, and provides some added texture to a new pair of jeans. The stacked look is often reserved for darker (typically black), and medium to heavyweight denim (in order for the stacks to stay in place), but can be applied to fabrics of all types.

The "Pin-Roll"

Born in the 1980s and since adopted by the sneaker-community, the "pin-roll" is perhaps the most unique method of cuffing your jeans on this list. Used as a way to highlight your sneakers, and keep indigo off expensive shoes, the pin-roll is performed by folding the inseam over horizontally, prior to being folded over vertically (video here). This synches the leg opening into a much tighter positioning, preventing the denim from falling down and touching your shoes. In order to perform this method accurately, you'll need a slightly longer inseam length and a slightly larger leg opening. Too small of a leg opening and you won't have enough fabric to fold over, too large and the taper will look noticeably drastic. For this reason, we recommend a moderate sized leg opening and an extra 2-3" of length.

We are thrilled to announce the newest label to our expanded offerings, N. Hoolywood. The Tokyo label has been crafting garments since 2000 thanks to the vision and direction of designer Daisuke Obana. Often referred to as "Mister Hollywood," Daisuke received his moniker when he traveled to Hollywood, from Japan, with the sole purpose of buying vintage clothing. This story and reputation eventually led Daisuke to open his eponymous Tokyo store, Mr. Hollywood. Daisuke has continued to be inspired by vintage and retro-themed garments, including workwear, sportswear, and military apparel, throughout his designs. The brand derives it's name from the words "Hollywood" and "hooligan," both of which continue to serve as inspiration for Obana's designs and creations. We couldn't be more excited to welcome N.
