Blue Sky is Committed to the Environment

At Blue Sky Plumbing and Heating, we love Colorado and we are invested in protecting its beauty and resources for future generations. Blue Sky’s owner, Steve Lanyon, is a Colorado Master Plumber certified as a Green Plumber by Green Plumbers USA. (The GreenPlumbers ® training and accreditation program results in increased water and energy savings for consumers and businesses across America.) We offer energy-efficient and water-saving products and advice to all our customers, commercial or residential. Colorado has been our home for 4 generations and we are committed to its environmental future and land conservation.

Steve became aware of this organization after signing a petition at an Evergreen grocery store that M.A.L.T. was presenting for another land acquisition. The fact the M.A.L.T. was a local group making a positive and physical change in mountain communities drew him to the cause.

The Mountain Area Land Trust conserved
1,629 acres in 2007, 980 acres in 2008, 1,300 acres in 2009 and 1,094 in 2010.
–excerpted from MALT Website

Blue Sky has been financially supporting the cause for seven years and is proud to announce that we will once again, sponsor the non-profit group Mountain Area Land Trust in 2012. It’s easy for us to support this locally based, land conservation organization. They facilitate the preservation of our irreplaceable open spaces and vistas by working with landowners and various agencies. This is a win-win: we support a local organization and they make it possible for us to enjoy these open spaces in Conifer and Evergreen and continue to save historic lands for future generations.

Thank You!

We thank the dedicated members of M.A.L.T. for their commitment to the land and the many other equally enthusiastic community sponsors. As always, you, our customers, make it possible for us to participate in this and other worthy causes that make our community and environment a better place. Thank you for your support!

Trust Blue Sky –
You can Rely on Us

Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating was recently featured in a PC World Article, “A Better Business Backup System.”

Disaster struck during a late-season snowstorm which caused power surges and damaged the company’s server. It took half a day to rebuild the data before we could resume serving our customers. We had been using a simple, small business backup solution that wasn’t really working. Sound familiar? Clearly, we needed a better system.

Anchor Network Solutions stepped in to establish a more reliable, automated disk-based system to protect the heart of our business – it protects the software and data we use to manage appointments and client records. We want you to know that you can trust that your records are safe with us. Our system is off-site, reliable and backed-up.

One More Way We Ensure Good Customer Service

The new system relieves our staff of the responsibility for backup, freeing them to focus on their core jobs. Most important, this technical overhaul means Blue Sky is no longer vulnerable to unanticipated disasters. If a server acts up, it won’t force work to shut down – we’ll still arrive promptly to repair or install your equipment.

In the past, such an event could have prevented the company from servicing our customers. Now, even if a server outage occurs, we can dispatch plumbers, heating and air-conditioning technicians for emergencies and regular appointments, without delay. Customer service is a core value at Blue Sky and this is one more way we stand behind that commitment. And of course, we thank you, our loyal customers for helping us help our community.

For more information, contact Blue Sky Plumbing and Heating or call 303-412-2161. We provide fast, reliable repairs and installation at a fair price.

Founded in 1996, Work Options for Women is a unique nonprofit social enterprise that uses food to change lives.

Our Mission is to help impoverished women gain the skills and confidence they need to work their way out of poverty and become gainfully and permanently employed in the food service industry.” –excerpted from the W.O.W website

Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating is proud to be associated with this unique and successful organization. We support the cause to lift women out of poverty and train them to enter the workforce with marketable skills and experience. AND… we were pleased to participate for the third year as a Foodie Sponsor at the Annual WomenCook! Event in May of 2012.

Blue Sky became aware of this non-profit four years ago through friends. We were drawn to Work Options for Women through the dynamic people involved and the special focus of their mission. Steve (owner of Blue Sky) was very touched by the personal stories of struggle and despair these women have shared and how Work Options for Women has provided the support, training, counseling and experience they need for real life success and hope.

We recommend that you to try the terrific food at Cafe Options where W. O. W. chefs show off their skills in downtown Denver (1650 Curtis Street, 303-573-0733). “Everything is made right here: like house-roasted meats and freshly-baked pastries. We even make our own pickles and mustard!” It’s fun and delicious – try the amazing soups, the fresh entrees and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The staff is friendly and attentive and you can support a worthy cause while you enjoy your breakfast or lunch. Be part of the solution to lift women out of poverty. We highly recommend it.

We thank all Work Options for Women supporters for their contributions and the entire W.O.W. network for their hard work and dedication to helping this truly worthy segment of our community.

Welcome to our very first blog post! Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating has just launched its updated website to share our expertise, service values and commitment to the environment. We thought it only fitting with this inaugural post that we promote our values by calling attention to an even more important event: Earth Day, April 22, 2011.

A Billion Acts of Green® is this year’s Earth Day theme: calling on all us to live and act sustainably. The organizers hope to register one billion “acts of green” between now and the Earth Day Summit in Rio, 2012. A Billion Acts of Green® inspires and rewards simple individual acts and larger organizational initiatives that further the goal of measurably reducing carbon emissions and supporting sustainability.

Blue Sky is committed to acting responsibly and preserving the environment.

Our company name, Blue Sky, is a tribute to our 300+ days of sunshine here in Colorado as well as our conviction to conserve water, save energy and maintain the natural beauty of our environment. We honor that value by offering high efficiency heating systems and low consumption fixtures and helping you implement systems that preserve our natural resources.

We belong to Green Plumbers® USA, an organization focused on educating, co-operating and leading the way in saving water and reducing the energy used to provide potable and heated water to the world’s population. We are proud to be one of the very first officially-recognized Green Plumbers USA Contractors.

Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating pledges to promote Earth Day and “A Billion Acts of Green” on our website and on our marquee sign in front of our office in Wheat Ridge, CO. We promise to continue our efforts and focus on how we can help save our natural resources. We will register Blue Sky’s efforts and encourage others to participate by registering how they plan to act and live more sustainably.
